2 Chronicles 36:15–16
“And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending them; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.”
If Calvinism is true and every human being is born without the ability to be able to believe, repent, or obey unless they are the eternally decreed of God as the elect, then how can God be compassionate toward people He knows cannot respond to His compassion? How can He be “compassionate” in sending prophets again and again when He has eternally decreed that those people will never (and can never) listen?
