It takes Calvinists to teach other people how to “find” Calvinism in the Bible.

John14-17a-Romans8-6-9.png

John 14 v 17a, Romans 8 v 6-9 ~ “Inability” in Bible. The world cannot receive the Spirit of truth. The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Praise be to God for calling me out of the world.

Romans3-9-B-18.png

Romans 3 v 9B-18~ Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin. As it is written, “There is no one righteous, not even one. There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The venom of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery lie in their wake, and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

1-Corinthians1-30-31.png

1 Corinthians 1 v 30-31 ~ It is because of God that you are in Christ Jesus, Who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”

Jonathan Edwards (in "The Miscellanies", point n.) believes that it's good for God to damn babies to hell:

"... it is most just, exceeding just, that God should take the soul of a new-born infant and cast it into eternal torments... For we know [infants] have enough [sin] to make their damnation very just."

James White (TULIPist) (listen here) in answer to a question about if God is responsible for child rape:

“Yes, because if not then it’s meaningless and purposeless.”

Vincent Cheung (TULIPist)

(“Infant Salvation”) agrees, celebrating the TULIP damnation of infants (and mentally-handicapped people) and even claiming that those who have a problem with this idea are dishonoring God and probably not even Christians:

“We insist that if infants can be saved, then only chosen infants are saved… Perhaps the same applies to those who are mentally retarded, although there seems to be no biblical evidence to say that some mentally retarded people are saved. Their salvation is only a possibility. It is also possible that all mentally retarded people are damned… [and] on the basis of the doctrine of reprobation, they would be created as damned individuals in the first place...

Whatever God decides must be right and good. It may be difficult due to their grief and weakness at the time, but if the parents [who lost a baby] cannot finally accept this, that God is always right, then they are headed for hell themselves and need to become Christians. (So quick and eager to dish out damnation!) ...

The possibility in consideration does not apply to mentally aware infants, teenagers, and adults who never heard the gospel – they will all surely go to hell… I have no problem with the idea that all who die as embryos, infants, and mentally retarded would burn in hell. If this is what God has decided, then this is what happens… As for the embryos, if they perish, they will go where God decides – if they all burn in hell, they all burn in hell…”

Calvinism in a nutshell.

"God" decreed the non-elect (so called) be tortured forever for sins He decreed they would commit.

rolleyes ... your rendering of Scripture has satan in the genealogical line of the Lord Jesus Christ ... yeah, satan l-o-v-e-s your rendering ... smh

Luke 3:

23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

24 Which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph,

25 Which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Amos, which was the son of Naum, which was the son of Esli, which was the son of Nagge,

26 Which was the son of Maath, which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Semei, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Juda,

27 Which was the son of Joanna, which was the son of Rhesa, which was the son of Zorobabel, which was the son of Salathiel, which was the son of Neri,

28 Which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Addi, which was the son of Cosam, which was the son of Elmodam, which was the son of Er,

29 Which was the son of Jose, which was the son of Eliezer, which was the son of Jorim, which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi,

30 Which was the son of Simeon, which was the son of Juda, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Jonan, which was the son of Eliakim,

31 Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David,

32 Which was the son of Jesse, which was the son of Obed, which was the son of Booz, which was the son of Salmon, which was the son of Naasson,

33 Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda,

34 Which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of Abraham, which was the son of Thara, which was the son of Nachor,

35 Which was the son of Saruch, which was the son of Ragau, which was the son of Phalec, which was the son of Heber, which was the son of Sala,

36 Which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Arphaxad, which was the son of Sem, which was the son of Noe, which was the son of Lamech,

37 Which was the son of Mathusala, which was the son of Enoch, which was the son of Jared, which was the son of Maleleel, which was the son of Cainan,

38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

.

Thanks for proving that the Son of God was not one of Adam's sons.

And how in the world could Satan be in the genealogical line of Jesus when Eve was!? Eve, by divine decree, was placed in God's holy line when He reconciled her to Himself by declaring that her and the serpent would be enemies.

Free Will-ism in a nut shell: believing the Bible is evil.

Free will-ism explained: just make it up as you go along.

Pretend philosophical constructs are Biblical factoids.

Free will-ism must: misrepresent at every turn.

True Magenta, and they continue in that position because should they ever say otherwise, it would be admitting that Christ is the Savior and they are not, which at all costs, they cannot abide. Starting from the very first step, they get it wrong yet continue on a tangent moving further and further away from truth, until, at a certain point, their error cannot be hidden, it becoming visible and obviously biblically absurd.
Perhaps, should God grant them repentance, they will go back to that first step and start all over, this time basing their beliefs upon the one true and only foundation which is Christ.

[1Co 3:11 KJV] 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Calvinism in a nutshell.

"God" decreed the non-elect (so called) be tortured forever for sins He decreed they would [WILLINGLY] commit.

The biblical Reformed Doctrine of Compatibilism has been proven time and time again on this thread. Compatibilism says that whatever God decrees man wills! Judas is likely the greatest example of this doctrine since his eternal destiny was determined by God in eternity, as evidenced by all the prophecies concerning him. Yet, even so, Judas felt genuine guilt and shame for his despicable act. He never blamed God or even Satan who possessed him. And Judas would certainly have to be included in with all the bad actors in Act 4 to wit:

Acts 4:27-28
27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.
28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.
NIV

Are you going to tell us that God's hands were not actively involved in Jesus' death!? Or are you going to tell us that Herod, Pontius Pilate, the Gentiles, and Jews did not willingly kill Jesus? They murdered the Prince of Life because God forced them to conspire together and instilled murderous thoughts in their hearts?

There are numerous other examples, as well, but you FWers obstinately, arrogantly and proudly refuse to believe the truth. What about Joseph and his brothers (Gen 37)? Was not God's hand actively involved in all the evil and the subsequent good that happened to Joseph?

Or what about Abimelech in Gen 20: Did not God's effectual restraining grace and the king's actions out of the "integrity" of his own heart, that prohibited him from violating Sarah, work seamlessly together? In fact, so much so that God did not rebuke or correct the king for taking credit for his kindness towards Sarah. Yet, at the same time, God made it crystal clear to the king that the ultimate reason why they king didn't sin against Sarah was because it was not God's will! God would not ALLOW him to bring any harm to Sarah. God was the Primary/Ultimate Cause behind Sarah's protection, while Abimilech was the Secondary/Immediate Cause.

Or what about Balaam who was commissioned by Balak to curse Israel, yet God prohibited him from committing that sin and at the same time compelled him to bless Israel! Even Balak confessed that God was the Primary/Ultimate Cause behind Balaam's actions (Num 24:10-11). Yet, Balaam never complained that God forced him to do His will.

Or what about Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane? Jesus, fully knowing what the horrendous horrors of the Cross would be for Him, naturally did not want to endure the agonies of the Cross that awaited Him. And He even prayed to this Father to remove that cup from Him. Yet, at the same time, prayed that the Father ignore his natural, human desires/wants in order to accomplish what His Father eternally ordained and was necessary for Him to procure the salvation of many (Mat 26:36ff.). Again, God's eternal decree and Jesus' willingly obedience were totally compatible. Jesus never complained to his Father that God was forcing him to go to the Cross.

And there are even more examples but you FWers are too much lovers of Self to understand and believe God's Word.

Indeed, Rufus. We are informed of exactly that in 1 Co 2:6 - 8:

[1Co 2:6-8 KJV]
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
