More Calvinist kryptonite these passages. They have no answer.......

Mat 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Act 17:27
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

So is Redeemedabby a Calvinist or you?

I'm not a fan of Satan's sermon. Thanks for letting me know, saved me alot of time.
No the sermons are not Calvinist. Chronister is the most anti-Calvinist pastor in the universe.
He refutes Calvinism almost every lecture and does so with astounding force and Precision.
What I meant was that the **passages*** that I quoted are a thorn in the side of the Calvinist, They have no answer to them...

Do yourself a big favor, hear these lectures and you'll never fall prey to the lie that is Calvinism for the rest of your life.

The mana was the bread from heaven that fell upon them

Tell me what part of that mana did not enter them.
They ate the manna given to them by God ... but God held true to His judgment ... the only ones who entered into the promised land were Joshua and Caleb and those who were 20 years old and younger at the time of their rebellion.

How about you. ?

Nows theres a question sis.

Jesus said the bread that fell from heaven was the father life for them, means it was Jesus who was feeding them, I don't suppose you could think what else he was feeding them ?

I wonder if mercy could ring any bells.

Maybe this may help @reneweddaybyday

The fathers mercy in the people

The bread that was fed in the desert

Deuteronomy 10:19

New International Version

19 And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.

The reason why people can reject the gospel is clearly spelled out in 2 Thessalonians 2:10.
They received not the love of the truth that they MIGHT be saved.

A person is saved by believing the truth of the gospel message in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:10, it actually says "might be saved" which is even supported by the Greek wording.
In fact, half of the KJV translators were Puritans (Calvinists), and this is the reading in 2 Thessalonians 2:10.

But the point here is that there is no such thing as "might be saved" in Calvinism.
This is why Jordan said this is a dark verse. Meaning, he cannot explain it.
Not even John Calvin was able to explain it properly.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 KJV
"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved."
The word "might" does not appear in the text.

The words "might be saved" are translated from the Greek word sōzō, which means deliver out of danger and into safety; used principally of God rescuing believers from the penalty and power of sin – and into His provisions (safety).
HELPS Word-studies

The key word in 2 Thessalonians 2:10 is the word "received", which is translated from the Greek word dechomai, which means to receive in a welcoming (receptive) way. 1209 (déxomai) is used of people welcoming God (His offers), like receiving and sharing in His salvation (1 Thes 2:13) and thoughts (Eph 6:17). [The personal element is emphasized with 1209 (déxomai) which accounts for it always being in the Greek middle voice. This stresses the high level of self-involvement (interest) involved with the "welcoming-receiving." 1209 (déxomai) occurs 59 times in the NT.]
HELPS Word-studies.

In contrast, Paul wrote about the Thessalonians who received God's Word ...

1 Thessalonians 2:13 And so we too constantly thank God that when you received God’s message that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human message, but as it truly is, God’s message, that is at work among you who believe..

the word "received" is translated from the Greek word paralambanō, from pará, "from close-alongside" and 2983 /lambánō, "aggressively take") – to take (receive) by showing strong personal initiative.
HELPS Word-studies.

the word "accepted" is translated from the Greek word dechomai ... defined above.

Paul uses two words for receiving the Word: “receive” and “accepted.” “Received” is paralambano, which means “to receive from another,” but it is especially used in the New Testament of receiving a message or body of instruction or doctrine (cf. 1 Cor. 11:23; 15:1, 3; Gal. 1:9, 12 [2 times], Col. 2:6; 1 Thess. 2:13; 4:1; 2 Thess. 3:6). This word stresses the fact the message was delivered to them and they heard it with their own ears in a teaching environment.
...
“You accepted” is dechomai, which means to receive in the sense of “welcome.” The first word, Paralambano, means the message was delivered to them. The second word, dechomai, means they welcomed it. The first refers to “the hearing of the ear” while the second refers to “the hearing of the heart.” But just how did they welcome the message? This is stated negatively first, perhaps for emphasis, and then positively.

My understanding of 2 Thessalonians 2:10 is that those who received not the love of the truth ... when truth was revealed to them, they had no desire for truth; therefore, truth was rejected.

for those who desire the truth, there is no "might" or "maybe" about it ... if the gospel is believed, salvation is the result ... not "maybe" or "might" be saved. According to Rom 1:16, for those who believe, the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation. period.

AI Question:
Can we believe without the spirit
AI Answer:
No, according to Christian belief, it is impossible to be a Christian without the Holy Spirit, as the Spirit is necessary for faith, conviction, and a true understanding of God. The Holy Spirit is described as the source of life for believers, guiding them and empowering them to live according to God's will. Without the Spirit, a person cannot have faith in Jesus, nor can they be considered a true believer.
  • Faith formation: The Holy Spirit is necessary to produce faith in a person; without it, believing in Jesus is impossible.
  • Understanding and conviction: The Spirit gives understanding of spiritual things and convicts people of sin, without which one cannot accept the things of God.
  • Belonging: If someone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ, according to Rom 8:9.
  • Spiritual life: The Holy Spirit is considered the source of spiritual life, growth, and power for a believer, enabling them to live in obedience and have assurance of salvation.

If the above is believed to be true, would it be unfair of God to bless some with His Spirit and withhold the Spirit from others?
AI is not Scripture ...

AI Question: is Holy Spirit given after a person believes the gospel

AI Answer:

Yes, the Holy Spirit is given to a person the moment they believe the gospel. According to biblical scripture, specifically Ephesians 1:13-14, believers are "sealed with the promised Holy Spirit" at the time they hear and believe the gospel. This is seen as a foundational aspect of salvation, and if someone does not have the Holy Spirit, they are not considered to belong to Christ.

  • At the moment of belief: The Holy Spirit indwells a person at the exact moment they place their faith in Jesus Christ.
  • A seal of salvation: The Holy Spirit's presence acts as a "seal" on believers, which serves as a guarantee of their inheritance and future redemption.
  • Necessary for salvation: Having the Holy Spirit is considered essential for being a Christian. Romans 8:9 states that if a person does not have the Spirit, they do not belong to Christ.

best to stick with Scripture ... just sayin'

You may have left something out m, the first generation in the desert mainly the men over 20 who had all the the lords strengthening mercy put in them, where not showing it and had turned away.

As all ready shown the fathers mercy can strengthen a persons heart to unbelief.
