The following is written for those who have gained sufficient knowledge of Bible doctrine.
Not for those still in the baby stage.
The problem is not that we do not have free will.
But...
Truth!
All unbelievers have no free will.
If they did?
They could master their sin nature in their flesh on their own.
They can't.
Unless something changes the status of the unbeliever's depravity of his flesh controlling his soul?
He will not believe in God.
What TULIP proponents fail to recognize?
Is that the soul is acting depraved because it is under the constant influence of the tyrannical sin nature.
The sin nature permeates his body from birth.
Just the same. A soul by itself, is not by default, depraved without a fallen body.
And, when the flesh does not rule over the soul?
When God's grace enables stability for that soul?
That a soul then can make it's own decision which will be representative of that soul's real desire.
If the influence of the flesh over the soul were to be removed?
Leaving that soul free of the depravity of the sin nature?
That soul would be placed into the position of getting the facts from God, and able to make a choice with his soul.
That is describing the drawing stages of God.
And, ultimately... when reaching the point of entering into salvation.
The drawing of God is God personally working inside a person who is not even aware that it is God causing to see what his mind is considering.
When a soul has been drawn sufficiently to satisfy God's requirements to make up its own mind?
Then that soul will be given the Gospel.
Given while God's grace power will be holding down the sin nature, and upholding the soul to think through what is given.
Yet... a soul, even when grace is present to suppress the sin nature?
Is still free to reject the message!
And, people do reject.
Leaving that person to be without excuse!
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men." Titus 2:11
God saves our soul.
Not the body.
God's grace will be given at various times and during various stages in God's drawing a person.
It is not a one shot process.
grace and peace.......
