Well, I’m getting older and apparently, now caffeine sensitive. I never used to have this problem before but it seems like I can no longer have caffeinated beverages.

What I’ve noticed, is that it causes extreme stress, gives you (at least me) insomnia and speeds up my heart big time.

I used to love drinking Diet Coke or Starbucks coffee all the time but it seems like it’s impossible now, without all the side effects.

Does anyone else have caffeine sensitivity? And if so, do you have any other issues in your body that may be the cause of caffeine sensitivity?

I've noticed after using caffeine in one form or another most of my life that I'm not able to tolerate as well now. I still take 100mg of caffeine a day; I thinks that works out to about a half cup of coffee. I don't drink any caffeinated beverages.

Thanks for sharing @ResidentAlien
I find so strange that about a year ago I was drinking like 64oz of coffee and now I can’t even drink 8oz

Do you see a doctor regularly? You might have some other condition that the caffeine aggravates, like high blood pressure or some other condition with you heart.
Yeah, I actually have both of those issues. I saw a cardiologist yesterday and he recommended that I get a procedure done on my heart because I have aFib, so I don’t get a heart attack or stroke. He also put me on a blood pressure medication to lower it, as well as recommended that I get a sleep apnea machine.
I’m 38 currently, so I’m pretty young for all of this to be occurring.
He said if I just lost weight and cut caffeine, that I’d be just fine.
My second ECG results were great but my heart beat was faster than normal because I drank like 3 diet cokes prior to going to my cardiologists office.
I forgot what the heart procedure that he said is but I hope to find out soon.
I think my friend Chris got the same procedure done last month and he is doing great now and back at work as a server.
So we’ll see what happens.

i stopped drinking coffee to.increased my water intake and changed to herbal tea.
I just had to do the same thing. I don’t mind it though. I do miss coffee but it is what it is.

I add stevia to sweeten the tea.
I ended up buying like a 2-4 pound bag of stevia maybe 3-4 years ago and because I only use the tip of a knife of stevia in my drinks, there is still like a half or third of the bag left.

Hopefully it doesn’t expire lol

Me too, I used to be heavy tea drinker. Now I can't drink coffee, and tea will give me panic attacks. Sudden unknown fear and anxiety, my heart starts racing. Then I remember I had some tea or caffeine.

Caffeine has been identified as causing hardening of arteries, and heart disease. It causes mental problems. It's an addictive drug, a stimulate too. Look at the market, you see caffeine everywhere.

Read about the health problems from it.

I am able to drink soda.

That is interesting. I didn’t know about the hardening of arteries. It’s a good thing I’m taking a statin to reverse the hardening.

I found that I can drink herbal teas that have no caffeine with a pinch of stevia.

That makes sense that it causes mental problems, as I think I’ve experienced those problems, as well as the addictiveness of it.

I used it mostly as a stimulant.

Now I prefer b12 or maybe CoQ10 supplements.

As an aside, for those that can drink tea, dandelion tea has a similar flavor to coffee...if you're missing that taste.
Teeccino is the best brand, imo.

Whenever someone has a heart issue, a good Nutritionist should ask what beverages the client drinks. A lengthy discovery session is valuable.
This will probably be of benefit.

However Hospitals around here actually make sure the heart patients drink plenty of sugar, chemicals, caffeine and dairy. This is ordered by the cardiologists and dieticians.
It's vitally important to them to make sure patients hurt bad enough so they will give into going along with the million dollar blood pump or heart transplant.

My dietician recommended that I stay away from caffeine, dairy, and I usually stay away from sugary drinks. I'm more of a stevia guy.
I now have so many variety of teas that I can open up my own tea shop. (not really but you get what i'm saying)

My wife worried that I drank so much coffee. Unbeknownst to me, she prayed for me. Overnight I went from 10 mugs a day to none. You are on the right track with drinks.

I've had the opposite experience. Every bit of medical advice tells me to stay away from coffee. Dairy is not a problem. God sent Israel to a land flowing with milk and honey. Too much of either is not good, but in moderation, it's fine.

My wife's late husband was told to quit dairy. His teeth were terrible. He did not know that calcium supplements were required. And quitting dairy did nothing for his health.

Your personal experience with your Dr is correct.
I'm just talking about what I've seen routinely in the hospitals.
The MDs seem to care less what is on the trays. Their areas are symptom management with chemicals. There knowledge of nutrition as it applies to mortal conditions is pretty much, "calories in.... calories out."

Cardiac conditions should consider a number of factors.
It's been shown that cow's milk is not good for many because of the body's inflammatory response. There's a difference between A1 cow's milk and A2 milk.
The same is true between the fat of grass range cattle as opposed to feed lot dairy.
Then there's a difference between cow and sheep, goats and camel milk.
Milk is not milk . Milk and honey are the blessings of God for sure.
In moderation it probably won't matter, but regular consumption may.

Just look at bread today vs two thousand years ago.
Bread today ruins health faster than most every other food other than seed oils and refined sugar/corn syrup.

I like stevia too.
The problem around here is that the stores carry brands that mix it with corn sweeteners. They mess with me; inflammation and not as good of quality as the brand I used to buy. I've converted too Lakanto monk fruit drops this year because of that.
Is there a particular brand of stevia that you like?
