Nobody is going to have it perfect.... that is what grace is for. If the translations you are using are all coming from the same source but are getting different results, it makes sense to me to go back and look at the source to compare. Learning some of the language and about the culture can help... making sure you have at least two to three witnesses in scripture to support a matter helps as well.
Again... its not about perfection, its about process of elimination and getting as close to perfection as possible. So if I know a word in Hebrew is "Passover"... I'm not going to overlook it being translated as "Easter" (Just one example).
... Also including murder, rape, adultery, war, theft, and idolatry.
Are you really arguing that all Bible translations are on par with such things?
A "version" doesn't change anything. The translators choose different words to represent those of the original language, or in some cases may be working from different source materials.
One could just as easily (and soundly) argue that "your" version has 2,800 words added. Your argument is invalid.

Have been writing about what is in bible most of my adult life and normally use RSV, YLT and NIV. There is no perfect english version and in some cases I use many more along with a input from language scholars. There are some places the english versions do an injustice to the scriptures. IMO
Some translations? No, that it not what it means at all. "Taking every thought captive" has little to nothing to do with translating Scripture. Rather, it is the practice of those who walk with the Lord and seek to minimize the distraction of unhelpful or sinful thoughts.
Have you confirmed your claim by your own investigation, or do you just repeat what you've read or been told?

Getting a person closer to perfection does nothing about getting a more accurate translation.

Of course not. It’s not part of scripture nor was it a part of the KJV. It was no more than an insert that was removed.
Your argument is faulty. The fact that the Bible contains examples of translated text penned by the biblical authors does not even remotely attest to the idea that a translation of the Bible penned by others might be "perfect". You're comparing apples to elephants.
Blayney did not change the words of the King James Bible. The only thing he did was to update some of the spelling of certain words (things like sonne to son, sinne to sin, citie to city, eies to eyes, dayes to days, yeares to years, hee to he, sate to sat, sayde to said.
He also adjusted some of the punctuation (some few things like a colon to a semi-colon (":" to ";") and he italicized a very few words that were not previously in italics. And some words that previously were capitalized he changed to non-capitalized. For example "ark" used to be "Arke" and "covenant" used to be "Covenant". That was it. He never changed the wording of the King James Bible.
