Which means you are OK with the New World Translation, which makes Jesus "a god" (John 1:1). There are probably hundreds of other errors in this cultic translation, so you have one of two options: (1) get to know why the JWs are regarded as a cult, or (2) allow yourself to be swayed by corrupted bibles and blind leaders of the blind.

Jesus’ opposers accused him of making himself equal to God. (John 5:18; 10:30-33) However, Jesus never claimed to be on the same level as Almighty God. He said: “The Father is greater than I am.”—John 14:28.
Jesus’ early followers did not view him as being equal to Almighty God. For example, the apostle Paul wrote that after Jesus was resurrected, God “exalted him [Jesus] to a superior position.” Obviously, Paul did not believe that Jesus was Almighty God. Otherwise, how could God exalt Jesus to a superior position? —Philippians 2:9.

I would really like to agree with this yet I know of no orthodox believer who would consult a NWT for understanding of a text of Scripture.

In 1993 Gordon Fee in his book, How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth, refers to the New World translation as being an "extremely literal translation" filled with "heretical doctrines".[80]
In 1953, former American Bible Society board member Bruce M. Metzger concluded that "on the whole, one gains a tolerably good impression of the scholarly equipment of the translators,"[26][89] but identified instances where the translation has been written to support doctrine, with "several quite erroneous renderings of the Greek."[90] Metzger said there were a number of "indefensible" characteristics of the translation, including its use of "Jehovah" in the New Testament.
F. E. Mayer wrote: "It is a version that lends support to denial of doctrines which the Christian churches consider basic, such as the co-equality of Jesus Christ with the Father, the personhood of the Holy Spirit, and the survival of the human person after physical death. It teaches the annihilation of the wicked, the non-existence of hell, and the purely animal nature of man's soul."[92][93]
In his review in Andover Newton Quarterly Robert M. McCoy reported in 1963, "The translation of the New Testament is evidence of the presence in the movement of scholars qualified to deal intelligently with the many problems of Biblical translation. One could question why the translators have not stayed closer to the original meaning, as do most translators. ... In not a few instances the New World Translation contains passages which must be considered as 'theological translations.' This fact is particularly evident in those passages which express or imply the deity of Jesus Christ."[94][95]
In 1963, theologian Anthony A. Hoekema wrote: "Their New World Translation of the Bible is by no means an objective rendering of the sacred text into modern English, but is a biased translation in which many of the peculiar teachings of the Watchtower Society are smuggled into the text of the Bible itself."[96]
Julius R. Mantey, co-author of A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament and A Hellenistic Greek Reader, said about the New Testament of the NWT that it's "a distortion not a translation."[97]
In 1982, Robert H. Countess in his critical analysis The Jehovah's Witness' New Testament wrote that the NWT "must be viewed as a radically biased piece of work."[98]
Theologian William Barclay concluded that "the deliberate distortion of truth by this sect is seen in the New Testament translation. ... It is abundantly clear that a sect which can translate the New Testament like that is intellectually dishonest."[99]

Amen. Well I don't know what the Jehovah's Witness teach on the matter but my understanding is that Jesus is the son of God, who died on the cross for our sins, and all who believe in Him will have eternal life.
God created the whole world and everything in it. All who come to God must go through His son, Jesus.
The Holy Spirit lives in all true children of God, and the Holy Spirit is our comforter and teacher.
That's basically what I know.
Well as I said I read various translations. The KJV is the main one for me, but if I read a particular scripture and the wording is difficult, I'll go to Biblehub or some other site and look up some other translation and compare it to what is in the KJV.
So I don't think I'm going astray because I am not looking for something different from what's in the KJV, I just want clarification on what the KJV is saying.
I've also "consulted" with other translation not just that one.

If you know that God created all things and the scripture says that Jesus created all things, it is then ok to say that Jesus is God.

I would like to share just a tiny tidbit in this post. There are absolutely no errors in the KJB 1611. There is and has been for a very long time now, an Occult agenda against the KJB to dumb people down and to deceive them away from the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God and is part of the Armour of God!
The 1611 and 1909 are both good to use. I tend to use the 1909 most often simply because a lot of people have been dumbed down. There is a solution, all anyone has to do is seek the Lord in faith for the eyesalve of understanding, and the Lord will bless whosoever that does so.
The King James Bible has sustained Churches, Kings, Families, and individuals around the world for over 400 years. The King James Bible was around long before there was ever a nation that we know today as The United States of America. The King James Bible was given by God, Whom is without beginning or end.
P.S. I have been around the block with Baal bending false teachers contending against the King James Bible, as well as having a front row seat to witnessing the Devil worshiping Freemasons use the N.I.V. and Latin Vulgate to blasphemously teach that "Jesus is Lucifer", of which the tactics will be the same when they will eventually confirm the Antichrist. The only loser is the person who's faith is not in God, but in man that denies the infallibility and inerrancy of The Lord God Almighty's written words. Jesus did not deny the charge of making Himself equal with God and He could not lie, they all knew what Son of God meant . He was God the flesh Son .. All He had to do was deny Himself and say ''right fellows, calm down, I'm not God and I am not His Son'' .. God had to come in the flesh and He did as God the Son ..
With respect, you are asking a trivial question in the effort to cast doubt upon what I have shared, while we are in the very midst of aftermath of the great falling away from the faith, with Churches world-wide being forced to close their doors permanently. Are you are that it has been recently reported that thousands of Pastors have quit and closed the doors of their Churches in The United States, all of this right on the heels of the Vatican setting up the image of the idol of Molech and the Church of Satan getting 501c3 Tax status from the I.R.S.? What do you think it is that led to the great falling away? Are you even aware that it has happened? Are you aware that there has been a war going on for a long time to remove crosses, the Ten Commandments, and other related things to Christianity from Public Institutions, as well as Public Schools? Kim, I'm praying with you and for you. When I first picked up the Bible to read it, it all looked Greek to me! I didn't understand any of it. But I tell you, that what I suggested is from personal experience, and Jesus said that faith, the size of a grain of a mustard seed can move a mountain, I asked The Lord for just that, faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed, and since then that faith has grown. I prayed, and still pray today over every single word, asking God for knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and knowledge. I read where Jesus opened the understanding of the scriptures to His disciples, so I asked Him, in faith, to do the same for me. Let God teach you! You won't go wrong when you let God teach you! And He will teach you all things, and as you continue to patiently read each book of the Bible in full context, not relying upon your own understanding, but instead solely upon God, you will learn and know without any doubt when and where He has blessed you with understanding.

hmm how can we tell which KJV is the 1611 version? All my KJVs read the same, have the same scripture but printed by different publishers.
one of mine says copyright 1984, 1977 by Thomas Nelson Inc.
another is 1958 ruby text by collins.
one is journal the word version printed 2016 by thomas nelson, and it says under the logo since 1798
the other doesnt have a date on it but printed by Oxford
none of them ever mention 1611 on the verso so am wondering how you can tell.

they DID have candlesticks when John had his vision, he was talking about the menorah or lampstand, its just in english the word is translated as seven golden candlestick.
They had the menorah way back in the OT. See exodus 26:31 in KJV its translated as candlestick because in there is no word menorah in english.
