The Bible says if you dont work,you dont eat. If you cannot work,if you are too ill the Bible tells us how to help the poor.To leave extra grain for travelers. To give and it shall be given to you. But the Bible also says a laborer is worthy of his hire. No where in the Bible does it condone over taxing and burdening the people or the gov't taking from the rich to give to the poor.That is a personal decision,not gov't.

Republicans believe in helping the poor. Dems always try to stick it to them,that they dont care.But please do me a favor and go to your phone book. How many churches feed the poor? I traveled in all denominations of churches for 20yrs.I dont believe I was in one that didnt have food and clothes to help those in need. The Salvation Army, one of the biggest helps to the needy. I believe the first orphanage in America was started by George Whitefield, a well known pastor. So please dont give me any foolishness about conservatives not caring about the poor,that is a lie. Samaritans Purse is another one who helps the poor and needy and are first on the scene of disaster.

Socialism is against the teachings of the Bible. 100% You say you defend the truth of the Word,then stop defending socialism and Bernie.

Most people, when they have no money, want to live their lives exactly the same as when they had it. I don't know your friend so I'm not trying to judge her or say she shouldn't get support, but she definitely needs a wake up call LoL

I have been carless, living with my sister in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but a temp job to pay my rent or my ability to babysit. I have had to get groceries from a church once since I literally had no money for them or I'd have to humbly ask (at one point because I was losing too much weight) my parents for grocery money. I was also blessed to have my old Christian friends from different states send me groceries that got me by for two months. Always freezing showers and no warm water. Also God's blessing that I lived in a town only 3 miles wide so I could walk everywhere including church even though it was often icy or snowy (and I always passed this delicious smelling Mexican food place and every rare once in awhile was able to treat myself). I learned how to drag healthy groceries home that were inexpensive and quick, thus learning how to cook. The library was my home away from home because I could use my library card to rent movies (no cable or WiFi of course) and read books and use a computer.

I lost weight... I'm 5'10" and when I moved to the state I'm in now with my sister (now living with 3 roommates to cut cost of living and am a college student) I was only 114 lbs. I was at a very unhealthy weight because I skipped so many meals. Even now I live paycheck to paycheck and live below my means.

All that to say that we don't have the privilege of tattoos or cable or getting our nails done when poor LoL. Do you think someone like me who works part time so I can go to school can afford cable? We bum Netflix. Do you think I could afford tattoos? No and I wouldn't want one anyway. Do you think I get my nails done? Of course not! I make less than $800 a month typically (I can't work full time as a student at my current job) and don't use government assistance. My biggest splurges are usually on my boyfriend or pets. My last big purchase was a nice new pair of $20 gloves!

This is why I moved to the Midwest from California... so I can get jobs and have a lower cost of living. Its also why I have three roommates LoL and why I am going to be finding a job with more hours after the greenhouse season. Do you think my parents and family miss me in California? Of course. Do you think I miss warm weather? Heck yes LoL

However when you are poor beggars can't be choosers LoL

If Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, then you are not hell bound. I was liberal when I was your age but by the grace of God I saw the Light and am now a strong conservative. But don't mistake my conservatism with being aligned with the Republican Party. I have disdain for the Republican Party now because far too many Republicans are sellouts.

I'm an independent and used to be Republican LoL but I probably won't ever align myself with one specific party again. My mom is a Democrat and my dad is a Republican.
