Hang on boys . . . Jesus clarifies under what authority the "disciples" were able to cast out demons, and it wasn't the Holy Spirit. See below:
Luke 10:17-19 NKJV - "Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." 18 And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
That authority was in Jesus' name . . . and not that of the Spirit. But there's more. They were not given the Holy Spirit and Jesus confirms this later in Luke (note that the above is Luke chapter 10).
It wasn't until Acts 1:5 that the Holy Spirit would be given, as per Scripture below:
Acts 1:5 NLT - "John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
Therefore, the disciples were not under the direction of the Holy Spirit. They were given Power by Christ Himself.
