I met a Christian in a concert in the park where I lived, they where singing and doing baptisms,

I was interested in the baptizing. The young lady I was talking to told me about how the baptizing worked, she told me if I believe Jesus Christ is lord who died for your sins and rose from the grave you will receive the holy spirit and eternal salvation

So I thought about this, I knew Jesus was the son of God, but I didn't know he was my lord and saviour, I thought God was.

I thought God can see everything so he must have sent his son to be our lord saviour, I've since learned Jesus is God.

But when i was baptized I thought I had to say yes I believe Jesus is my lord and saviour in order to recieve salvation.
After witnessing many baptisms that day, I thought it was a piece of cake, just copy everybody else I thought.

What happens when you recieve the holy spirit, and how do you know you've received the holy spirit.

I've since learned that Jesus died for all mankind's sins, because everybody inherited a sin nature from Adam and Eve.

After reading some of the bible it seems all the Jews had very strict training from God and a lot of people believed at the time Jesus was the Messiah, but some didn't,

But both sides of believers had strict training first from the father and many lessons befor being asked whether they believed Jesus was there lord and saviour.

I was wondering do I need to be like a Jew first befor becoming a Christian in order to truly believe.

Because I don't know whether I'm saved, and I don't understand everything that is written in the bible.

I don't pray that often or feal the need to. If I had the holy spirit would I be talking to God more often,

No, you do not need to be like a Jew first before becoming Christian. Nobody understands everything that is written
in the bible, but if you read it prayerfully seeking to grow in your understanding, your understanding will grow.

The Bible says if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. If your hope is in Jesus, and forgiveness of your sins by His blood shed on the cross, you will not be disappointed. Only stand firm in your faith that His work on the cross is enough for you, and live your life in constant thanksgiving and praise of God for His sacrifice, and everything you do, do it as if it is to the Lord, in whom we live and move and have our being, and whom we are of , by, and for. Christ .
You died to the Jewish Law with Christ in your baptismal burial and are raised again with Him, in heavenly places, never to die again. You are not under the Law, but Grace. YOU have prace with God through Jesus Christ. Stay there! Rest!

To Fundaamental,
The easiest way to know if you're saved is "have you ever been convicted of your sins"?
No man can come to the Father unless the Spirit draws him.
Many think they are saved because they made a 'decision' for Christ, but this isn't true.
One must be convicted of sin, repent of sin, as well as accept Christ as Lord.

The truth is that no one here can tell you whether you are saved or not. While salvation, in one sense, is very simple, it is also very mysterious. It is as simple as believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is complicated because it can appear that everything outwardly was done, but there was no internal spiritual interaction that took place. Some have begun well in the faith, only later to fall away.
But I do want to encourage you. The Bible says there are none that seek after God. And, yet, your questions are a form of seeking as is coming to this site. Somehow the circumstances of your life led you to a park where the gospel was being shared. So it very much seems that God is very active in your life. And if He is, then He came with the purpose of making Himself known to you and to enter into an intimate relationship with you.
The Bible also says that if we seek God with all our heart we will surely find Him. Continue to pursue God with all that is in you.
I'll keep you in prayer. Grace and peace.

seek after truth, and Truth is embodied in the Person and work of Jesus Christ

God has not promised to honour anybody's doubts. He honours only FAITH.

Right now ask Jesus to come dwell in you as your Lord washing away your sins ... that is all you will ever need.

Since you question whether or not you’re saved, I would encourage you to pray in the same manner we are to love God, with all your heart, mind, body and soul.

John 16:7-11
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;
11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

The sin we are convicted of is the sin of unbelief in Jesus, that is part of the purpose of the Holy Spirit was sent to us.

That is the sin we repent off, unbelief in Jesus and what he did. That is what saves us.

After that the Holy Spirit works in us to conform is the image of Jesus.

Jeremiah 29:13-14a
Embodied like the mustard seed Jesus talks about.
Being born again means I have to have something new planted into me, like a new seed,

I take it that it's a piece of light from the holy spirit, or a piece of light from the incorruptible seed of Jesus or the father or all three,

Then when you recieve this seed the transformation is instant, you are born of the new incorruptible seed.
but how do I know this has happened will God talk to me more often.

here's what to do: say the sinners prayer. basically, its proclaiming Jesus Christ as you personal savior. (Romans 10;9). but it includes believing in God & the Holy Spirit also. John 3:5 is probably the most famous verse on being born again to enter heaven. in short, it says you MUST BE BORN AGAIN! to enter heaven. when a person becomes b.a., he immediately is indwelt with the H.S. this means the H.S. is living with you for the rest of your life. he is your comforter & teacher. your guide also. now that you are born again, you will learn to release the conformity of the world in your life & be transformed to Jesus in thought, speakings & actions. your mind will be renewed. you will want to cast out all the money, lusts, greed vises & all ungodly desires that you ae tempted with. every day of your life you will edifying, that's growing in the Lord to be an obedient child of God. its something you'll want to do, not just feel like you have to do. as far as sins, you will be strengthened to forsake them. people who say they became born again but still are sinning at the same level ARE NOT born again. i've seen plenty of people in that category. we all have had our "top" sins we committed. when Jesus sees that someone is improving with every temptation dealt you, He knows you are truly born again. & then some day, you will cast out those sins for good. you can ask Jesus any time to forgive your sins even though Christians sins are forgiven. the Christian life is a a daily will to improve. the H.S. may choose to speak to you with your voice! He's done that with me. all christians know have testimony of the H.S. living with them. John 3:33- "He that hath received His spirit hath set to his seal that God is true"! & 1st John 5:10- " he that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself, he that believeth NOT on God has made Him a liar because he believes not the record which God gave as His son". i don't want to overburden you with more info so i'll stop here. blessing to you.

you don’t need to become like anyone else to come to the lord you need to just be real with him and not hide any part of yourself

There’s a reason most of the Jews rejected Jesus and only a small remnant received him. The law of Moses is what makes Jews and this was why they rejected Jesus

“Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: and not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: but their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:12-16‬ ‭

you don’t want to become like the people who were blind to the lord , you want to be who you already are because you aren’t blind to Jesus and who he is which means if you stick with him you shall be be saved it’s a promise ahead that is waiting for us as we finish our race not a trophy we already have on the mantle

The reason V9 says "of sin, because they do not believe in Me" is because the Holy Spirit convicts us of ALL sin.
It doesn't say "unbelief, because they do not believe in Me".
This is a clear case of eisegesis, adding your own interpretation to the verse.

Regardless it states they do not believe in him and that is unbelief therefore unbelief.

You added to that.
