Typical Baptist response, but not true. Try reading what the wine master had to say. I understand because I was a drunk before I was saved. Basically, he said that people serve the best wine first. Then when the guests can no longer tell the difference (because they've had plenty), the cheap wine comes out.
Nowhere in the New Testament does it say that alcohol is inherently evil. It does tell us not to get drunk. Women generally are less tolerant of alcohol than men. I know what I can handle. Those who are born again and know God's word are aware of God's wisdom. Those who have a problem with alcohol, as I did, should abstain completely. I did for two years. If it is not a bondage, then in moderation, there is no problem.
If you want to avoid alcohol, fine. But don't impose your own values on others. Your interpretation of God's word does not hold up. And you have no right to judge the servant of another.
The only restriction is drunkenness; all the verses point to this. There is nothing about not drinking, except the verse about elders.
