Slice it/dice it all you want, but being seen with alcohol is morally questionable at best, thought of as a drunk at worst.

-"So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations— "Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle," which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men?"
Colossians 2:16, 20-22 NKJV

I don’t think we go out with a beer/ wine glass in hand and knock on doors. You’re just bringing up rather ridiculous scenarios! Common sense, please!!
Why is that so ridiculous?!? I'm getting the idea that you see how foolish it would be to be seen like that, & if so, I agree with you.
You just showed plainly we don't need a bible verse to prove a point. It's just common sense.

Do you know that only some Christian’s in the U.S. follow this man made tradition of yours? Christians around the world have wine in their communion, drink wine during their meals, and most certainly during special events.

Even though I’m giving you plenty of Scriptures, which you obviously choose to ignore. You choose rather to chastise those who follow God rather than hold on to this 200 yr old, man made church tradition, and ignore the fact that you’re complicit in ADDING to Scripture.

Warning:
“For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

This is false! You don’t get drunk on grape juice, hence ALL the verses are about drunkenness. They had this problem just like we do today. There is nothing new under the sun! It’s common sense when reading all of the verses regarding this subject, and reading about the wedding feast in Cana, that He had made the best wine ever. Even the head of the feast remarked that most people serve their best wine first and then the cheap wine last (people are buzzed and don’t normally notice that the cheap stuff is then served), but it was different at this feast.

New wine is way too sweet, besides; you can’t drink much grape juice. The benefits come from the fermentation; good for health; it aids in digestion.
1 Corinthians 8
9But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
10For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
11And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
12But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience,
ye sin against Christ.
13Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend,
I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

If my weak brother was raised in an abusive home with an alcoholic father, or if he was a previous alcoholic himself, WOULD IT BE WORTH IT?

I know, this argument will continue because folks don't care about offending other christians or sinners.
That's where the real sin lies. I don't need to argue all the other things because this one sin says it all.

lol.... But you're not advocating just for these very specific situations. You are demanding that everyone bend to your will and never drink because you personally do not approve of alcohol, and you've judged anyone who does drink as a "christian", in quotes. Just stop.

That's real cute, judging me to be judging others.
My brother died when he ran off the road & hit a tree. He drank. Should I be offended? Or should I believe it's all right to drink?
You had no clue that someone was on here who had been offended before, watching brethren backing their drinking with scripture.
I wonder who else is reading this stuff?

Your brother dying in a car wreck has nothing to do with millions upon millions of people who responsibly drink, Christian or otherwise. You are choosing to be offended by something that God created and gave us the freedom to consume. This is a problem YOU need to personally address rather than dragging and berating Christians who dare to not bend to your will and not meet your self-imposed standard.

We’re not talking about weak brethren here! We’re discussing this subject as a whole.

You’re twisting Scripture and using this passage to make it all about “We’re not to touch, or taste” alcohol. You’re clearly not taking into account all the other Scripture; which does not teach what you want to think!

Just because you are weak, or you know of someone who is weak minded doesn’t justify you saying that all Christian’s should abstain from alcohol.
Your mentality is flawed, according to Scripture!

Some people have a problem with sugar. By your reasoning, should we all abstain from eating sugar?

WHO did I judge?
God gave us the freedom to drink?
This is my problem?
I am personally addressing the issue. Someone needs to.
I neither dragged nor berated no one.
I only try to bend my will to Christ. It's hard enough with mine, let alone everyone else.
That standard is not mine, it's God's.

I’m sorry for your loss, but you can’t demand others to abstain from something that is God given!
-For one, I’m not advocating for drunkenness, nor is anyone else on this site.
-Drinking does not mean drunkenness. You need to know the difference!!
-All Scripture is against drunkenness; there is nothing about not drinking!
-We all have a choice in food and drink.

Paul wrote about it because God instructed him to.

You are using scripture to defend your drinking & accuse me of twisting scripture?

Of couse I'm weak! If Paul admitted it, how can I say otherwise? We're all weak, sheep in the eyes of our Good Shepherd!
Don't you know a christian who is weak minded? Do you consider any of us worth not drinking alcohol for?
If not, then someone might need an infusion of God's love, just sayin'.

To not drink is NOT God’s standard! Once again, you are adding to Scripture.

You would rather follow a 200 yr old, church traditions than God’s word. Got it!
This is your choice.

So far, I've only mentioned drinking, not drunkeness. Go back & read my posts.

Now, why would someone argue so much about drinking as if his life depended on it?
It's really not worth that to me.
I think you're exposing yourself more than me, but what do I know? I'm just a weak sheep.

I’m defending Truth and exposing heresy. Why would someone want to defend so whole heartedly a 200 yr old, man-made Tradition, and ignore God’s words??

Your 2 last sentences come right back at you! Your words, not mine.

For the record, you might be a weak sheep, but God blessed me with wisdom and knowledge, and strength in Him.

Is that what you're doing? Are your words God's words?

I'm not ashamed of what I said.
For the record, you might be a weak sheep, but God blessed me with wisdom and knowledge, and strength in Him.
You're all that?
That must be why all those others are on your side, believing what you believe.
I guess as a weak sheep I need to consider my ways.

I’m not ashamed for upholding God’s word either! I’ll fight heresy to the end!!

And I'm sure your friends will jump in with you and do the same as you lead the charge.

I’m in Jesus’ boat, whose boat are you in??
