Heel-toe is exactly what it sounds like whereas what TinTin is calling ankle-heel is nothing what it sounds like. You will find in societies where shoes are not commonly worn that people are more prone to walk with the ball of their foot landing first instead of their heel, this allows the ankle/heel assembly to act as a spring/shock absorber assembly.
Answer 1: I didn't say ankle-heel stride...

Answer 2: What Oncefallen said.
Okay, "ankle-heel spring".

I guess I just can't picture the ball of the foot landing first, I think I've tried that before and I felt like I was walking on my tippy-toes.

Eh... kinda like that, but with less differential between the ball of the foot and the heel. The ball (midway down the foot, that section right behind the toes) hits the ground just barely ahead of the heel. Walking on tiptoes is an exaggeration of the effect.

Ever seen someone walking barefoot? Exactly like that. That's the intent of the shoes, to have the same stride as though you were barefoot.

1. If you could have any career, what would it be?
Actress. I always wanted to try out for school plays, but was too shy. But I was great at memorizing lines (that I would never deliver in front of anyone). I dunno, as long as we're daydreaming here, yeah, I'd like to be an actress.

2. Favorite color?
Green. Purple. Blue? Black! I like ALL the colors!

3. Favorite season?
Fall, because....crunchy leaves, boots, sweaters, sunshine, colors, and that wonderful scent in the air first thing in the morning.

4. Quality you admire in others?
Commitment. The drive to see things through.

5. What is something you wish you were better at?
Painting. Singing. Shopping online (it took me four hours to find a thing I was looking for online today all because I can't search efficiently. Plus I kept getting suckered by recommendations).

I really enjoy reading the answers here. It's quite fascinating to learn about the people in the forum and there are so many answers I can relate to...

1. If you could have any career, what would it be?
MissCris made me think about being an actress. I used to want to do that when I was a kid but I know I couldn't do it now. I'm terrible at memorizing Bible passages, let alone entire scripts, and I wouldn't exactly be seen as versatile: "Someone get me a Swedish Canadian bombshell secret agent with a Latvian accent!" Um, sure. I'll get right on that. BUT, I do think it would be SO MUCH FUN to play every kind of bad girl there ever was, just because I've always been the good girl. I would LOVE to be the kick-butt girl carrying a dozen weapons and firing a gun bigger than I am.

In the meantime... I'm at this point in life where I wish I could try a dozen different things and keep going. I'm also a very task-oriented person. Give me a pile of papers to go through or a stack of boxes to open and put up and I'm happy as a clam. I also enjoy organizing information. I once wrote handbooks, complete with indexes, outlines, and "quick-find trouble-shooting" guides for a class and then for a job, and I really enjoyed doing that. If I could somehow make money from it as a hobby, I'd certainly be interested.

However, my DREAM job would be RETIREMENT! Everyone I know who is retired is busier now than when they worked, except that they get to decide what work they want to do. My adoption agency just sent out a notice that they are taking applications for their yearly team of volunteers to go to my old orphanage and hand out gifts to the kids for Christmas. How cool would that be! (But heartbreaking, too.)

2. Favorite color?

As you can probably tell, RED, which is my Dad's favorite color too, so maybe I get that from him. I keep saying I'm so different from my family but maybe I'm not quite as different as I think... Over the years,
cobalt blue has become a close second, if not a contender. I LOVE color, especially bright colors, as evidenced by my occasional avatars of my multi-colored neon sneakers. Ok, so maybe I AM different from my family--my parents can decorate ANYTHING in 50 shades of beige. I, on the other hand, prefer red, blue, purple, green... pink, orange... :) My house looks a little like a crazy art gallery inside.

3. Favorite season?

I love transitional seasons--fall and spring. I LOVE the turning of the leaves and the "waking up" of spring. I also love snow but am not so crazy about driving in it. The only reason I don't like summer as much is because I hate extreme, suffocating heat. The past 3 years I've lived in places WITHOUT seasons and the first year I was extremely homesick for the change. It's like all this time is passing by without any external cues, and it kinda drives me crazy, even though I have to admit not having to drive in snow is pretty nice. I will probably wind up back in a 4-season state by choice... someday.

4. Quality you admire in others?

I admire abilities in others that I seem to have been born without--for example, coordination, athletic ability, patience, and endurance. I always try to tip good waitstaff very well because it's a job I know I could never do. I just don't have the personality for it. I also admire sincerity, honesty, and a good sense of humor--things I think I have but can always be improved upon!

5. What is something you wish you were better at?

Everything! When I was a kid, it wasn't enough to me to want to have super powers... I wanted EVERY super power and to be the BEST at any of them!!! (Greedy much?! Yup, that's me!) But I especially wish I were better at "figuring things out." I truly envy some people who can look at something for 8 seconds and totally "get" it... I've always been someone who takes a considerably longer time--and needs a variety of resources. That's why I always want examples when I ask questions. ;)

1. A dog. I really, really want my own dog. Or 2. Just call me the crazy dog guy. Haha

2. Italy. Since I'm part Italian it's only fitting I go there.

3. Re runs of Seinfeld and Friends always help me forget about what's going on, even if it's temporary. Who doesn't enjoy a classic sitcom?

4. Seeing people feel alone, being passed by, or ignored. It just takes one person to reach out to someone, and it bothers me how a lot of people, even Christians, can just treat someone. They did an experiment in New York and a teenage boy pretented to be homeless and was lying on the cold streets. After thousands of people passing and hours going back, who helps him? A homeless man. Seeing the video brought tears to my eyes.

5. I wanted to play the drums when I was a kid, but my mom scolded me at the time and said I would be too loud. That kinda put a damper in things, but if I ever could I wouldn't mind taking up the drums one day. For a band either Hillsong or Tenth Avenue North.

2. Really tough one I have never been overseas. Lots of places I still wish to see. The folowing possibilities come to mind: Italy, preferably northern Italy, Barcelona Spain and Ireland, Scotland (where my ancestors are from), Southern France, Croatia, Many places at home that are really special (Knysna, Port Elizabeth, etc). I could go on.
3. British comedy
4. Innocent children being abused, cruelty, oppression
5. I would rather play for a orchestra than a band, not that I don't like modern music but classical music is just slightly more my taste. At the moment I would choose the piano. I can play the piano a bit but my hands are much to small to play the kind of music I like. The particular orchestra would be, at the moment, The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

1. If you could have any animal (wild or domesticated), what would it be?
Lion or a Red Panda or a wolf or a tarsier. I can't tell if that last one is cute or scary yet.
2. If you could travel anywhere in the world and live there for 3 months, all expenses paid, where would it be?
Oh, Redding. *Sigh*
3. What makes you laugh more than anything else?
My own misfortune and clumsiness. I ran in to a table today, I was still laughing about it even when everyone else had already stopped.
4. What makes you sad more than anything else?
Hearing horror stories that have happened to children.
5. If you could play in a band, any band, what instrument would you play and for what band?
I would play the violin because I already play it and I consider it an extended limb. I'd love to play with the United Pursuit Band, or Worship Mob.
