just an honest observation brother. Youre good brotherly spirit towards others is greatly appreciated also and admirable to a grumpy old man

you do not need to be a calvinist or think grace is irresistable to believe number three is trueNot true. Adam had a "normal human nature" before AND after he tossed God under the bus, but he DID DIE SPIRITUALLY in the same way we all do the first time we SIN.
True statement. we ARE PERFECT in Him.
Only if you're a Calvinist, and think that the GRACE of god is "IRRESISTABLE".
Poor Cam is apparently surrounded by GOMs.just an honest observation brother. Youre good brotherly spirit towards others is greatly appreciated also and admirable to a grumpy old man

1. When Adam sinned, his mind, heart, and will were corrupted.
2. Jesus has met every requirement of God for those who are saved.
3. All that are given to Jesus by the Father will come to Him and receive eternal life.
I know how tempting it is to add explanations. Please refrain. I understand that apart from being able to give an explanation some may not want to participate. Perfectly understandable.
My answers are:
1. True
2. True
3. True
This thread isn't about Calvin. And I never intended to cause any friction or division among the body of Christ.
I was trying to see if there weren't areas of agreement that could be built upon. But it seems that even amongst Christians there exists a desire to be right rather than to love.
Most of the problems in the world could be solved if people would radically love their neighbors the way God has radically loved us.
I realize in the world we live in this would open us up to ridicule and likely our motives would be questioned. But if not love, then what? If not now, then when? If not us, then who?
We is all just a bunch of happy crustaceans! Just glad to be here under the Son!the word i apply to myself is curmudgeon.
but as for you, if you're grumpy, i have never seen evidence of it, dear sir.

You had good intentions but division is good when it comes to truth. Martin Luther never intended his 95 questions to divide the church. But it had to be done.
We can agree on much but in some areas the doctrines of some can be harmful to those who believe them.
Debate is good. Jesus and Paul can be seen as debating.
Love and truth are inseparable. If you love but tolerate what is unbiblical then we are no better than the unbelievers who can love.
God is love but He is also just, wise, all knowing, logical, and speaks the truth.
It was indeed the Jewish culture to debate. They even have a whole book called the Talmud which is a book of arguments, it contains thousands upon thousands of differing commentaries on the Torah and how its commandments should be carried out. Throughout history, rabbis have added to the Talmud, even rehashing the value and interpretation of earlier discussions, and reevaluating them in a modern context. Your objection is duly noted and I appreciate your response, but there is a choice option that doesn't agree with me.I appreciate your posts and your grace and humor. That said I cannot answer the questions because you have put parameters that only give the answer you agree with. That's my answer. Blessings.
Does one of them give you indigestion?there is a choice option that doesn't agree with me.
That reminds me... it's time for one of Cam's ham sandwiches.Does one of them give you indigestion?![]()
Christians in many ways the most unlikely of acquaintances. We generally haven't met through work, or living arrangement, or common interest. We met at the cross. And apart from that we would never have come together. Some may fear that honesty will divide us, but I think that it is the glue that holds us together.![]()
At this point I actually regret having done the thread. I was looking to find common ground to build relationships, not cause dissension. Had I known it would become more about my motivation than God's glory, I never would have posted.Does one of them give you indigestion?![]()
Probably a good time to post the Words of Jesus Himself. And then maybe some of the NO number 3 guys will change their vote.you do not need to be a calvinist or think grace is irresistable to believe number three is true![]()
I have no problem with debate. I do believe it is important and healthy. I just see a lot of people truthing their neighbors. You had good intentions but division is good when it comes to truth. Martin Luther never intended his 95 questions to divide the church. But it had to be done.
