    Loss of salvation???

I think you may be misunderstanding me. I never said we don’t obey Jesus. I clearly said obedience is essential. My point was about the specific wording “we must obey Him,” not about denying obedience. When Jesus says, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” John 14:15, He connects obedience to...

    Loss of salvation???

Which part was she right about the falsely accusing me part or the self preservation reason for obeying Jesus? And I have no problem calling Jesus Lord. I take joy in doing so.

    Loss of salvation???

I don’t think you get my point at all. But let’s say we must obey. How many commandments must we obey? Every single one of them? 80% of them? 50%? What happens to a person that follows 80% vs a person that follows 50%? My point is not at all that we shouldn’t obey or respect God. My point is...

    Loss of salvation???

You’re right. Bowing to authority isn’t always about love. Sometimes one bows to authority because of duty or obligation. My point was simply that if our actions are done mainly for self-interest, the relationship with God can become one-sided. Genuine devotion and love should be central, even...

    Loss of salvation???

The topic was obedience and the reason behind it, but you wrote “obeisance,” which I initially thought was a misspelling of obedience. My apologies for that. Either way, the idea of bowing down in respect and reverence still comes from love. My main point is that if the things we do are only...

    Loss of salvation???

John 4:24 doesn’t say we must obey. It literally describes how we are to worship. That is in spirit and in truth. Worship is to be authentic and heartfelt done out of love and sincerity, flowing from a genuine relationship with God, not from fear or obligation.

    Loss of salvation???

I asked what the reason was that we must obey Him. You replied with your reason. I simply pointed out that your reason was self preservation. I guess it struck a nerve because you then falsely accused me of things I didn’t do. Have a good day.

    Loss of salvation???

I’d love to see the verse where Jesus literally says we must obey Him, because I’ve never come across one. That said, I agree obedience is essential. I see it this way. Just as faith is the root of good works, love is the root of obedience. How do we know we have faith? Our desire to do good...

    Loss of salvation???

You completely changing scripture is way sadder than me asking someone why we must. You literally crossed out a word and changed it to another word. You also added another word that you didn’t spell correctly. And the fact that two likes your change in scripture says a lot. Here’s the correct...

    Loss of salvation???

For one, I said nothing about you going to hell. Two, please quote one time where I’ve told people not to obey God. Obeying His commandments is an action. We both want to obey Him. I’m talking about the reason behind the obedience. He doesn’t just look at our actions. He looks at our heart...

    Loss of salvation???

“To be saved”=self preservation. So essentially you are following His commandments out of selfishness instead of love. You want to follow Him so you’ll be saved. I want to follow Him because I love Him.

    Applying God's Word to Politics

i vote primarily based off one policy and that is to end the killing of babies. Seems only one side supports ending it. And you do realize Trump only has three more years and he is out right? We have a constitution that says so.

    Loss of salvation???

If others change the meaning of a word that doesn’t mean it changes for everyone. It just means they are wrong in their definition. We have people nowadays that use their own definition of gender. They are also wrong. I know what faith alone meant originally and that is what it still means to me...

    Loss of salvation???

Yes I know it’s Sola Fide. It comes from the five Solas. We have been saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone. Sola Gratia “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the...

    Loss of salvation???

That’s what it seems like. The funny part is you can ask people “are you saved by your works?” They’ll say “no”. Then you can say “so you’re saved by faith alone?” And they’ll say “no”. I give up.

    Loss of salvation???

It means that faith in Christ is the sole means in which a person is justified or made right with God. It implies that rituals, works, and human effort cannot earn salvation.
