We are saved because of our faith and belief, which includes obedience to God's command to be baptized. Thus we are saved. The reality of salvation is allowed us only through God's grace... the un-merited favor... we don't/can't earn it.... salvation is given to us by God.... so, we ARE...

It is your belief that the people at Pentecost were baptized in the Spirit when they heard and believed, "coming to faith"? If that is your belief, why would Peter tell them to repent (turn away from their sins) and be baptized, whereupon they would receive the gift of the indwelling Holy...

You can argue about that scripture, and even discount it as possibly having been added at a later date..... but, if you look at every example given in the NT about people being saved and baptized, it is ALWAYS water baptism. Always. That is what baptism MEANT to the ones that heard the word...

And, to add to that, if you read any of the apostolic fathers' writings on this subject, they all understood it to mean water baptism... this is from the very people that this teaching was given to. People of the first century... and THEY understood it as water baptism.... as it was meant...

You conveniently skip over the precise way the Spirit enters our life.... Just as Peter taught at Pentecost, when Jesus' church was founded.... "repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" You are picking individual scriptures...

possibly... Personally, I think that John was being a little hyperbolic when describing Jesus' baptism, purposely. I think he was saying, my baptism is only water, but Jesus adds the Spirit and fire.... which I assume described what happened at Pentecost. The 3000 at Pentecost were water...

Being baptized is not "seeking salvation through works"..... Being baptized is obeying Jesus (God's) commandment. The Jews did not get circumcised in order to "become Jewish".... they did it because it was God's commandment. They did not see it as a "work" they had to do, it was obedience to...

I doubt that. If you are hunting legally, they cannot arrest you. If one did, you have grounds for a lawsuit that most jurisdictions want to avoid at all costs. Hunting is perfectly legal, as long as you follow the regulations and have the proper license. Again, please educate yourself...
