Woman can't teach in the congregation

A big assumption is being made here that Paul said woman and not wife.

GOD'S SABBATH AND THE REAL TRUTH OF COL 2:14-17 WHO DO WE BELIEVE GOD or MAN?

Anyone can observe a weekly sabbath; it doesn't take Christ to do that. Unbelievers do it all of the time. But one thing you sure can't do without Christ is follow his spirit, which fulfills the righteousness required by the 4th commandment.

Is faith a reliable way to know truth?

    IMO because they're dumb.

    Revelation 3:5

So you are saying that inheritance in Ephesians 5:5 refers to rewards, not salvation. Wow.

GOD'S SABBATH AND THE REAL TRUTH OF COL 2:14-17 WHO DO WE BELIEVE GOD or MAN?

2 Corinthians 3:7 explicitly says that GOD abolished (καταργέω - rendered useless) the 10 commandments. 1 John 3:4 says that sin is lawlessness, not transgression of the law of Moses. Lawlessness is not obeying the words of Christ. You're reasoning is flawed. You say sin is breaking the law...

    Revelation 3:5

Disowned is not the same as disinherited. The inheritance of GOD is clearly salvation. Surely you won't be so foolish to say that the people described below will simply miss out on rewards because they have no inheritance in the kingdom of GOD. For this you know for certain, that every sexually...

    Revelation 3:5

Inheritance is a gift because GOD's sons are adopted. They had no right to an inheritance.

    Oh goody another OSAS thread!

This other interpretation doesn't by chance replace the word if with the word since does it? If so it doesn't matter because using either word results in the same thing. If/Since you are doing this, then that; if/since you are not doing this, then not that.

    Revelation 3:5

A son may remain a son, but a disobedient son can be disinherited. And that is what salvation is - an inheritance.

Woman can't teach in the congregation

I was thinking. Authenteo (αὐθεντέω, 831) could mean acting independently. Since the words man and woman in 1 Timothy 2:12 also mean husband and wife, Paul could have simply been saying that it's not good for a wife to act independently of her husband.

    Oh goody another OSAS thread!

Just a FYI. The 2nd blessed in verse 3 is aorist. Translated as indefinite it becomes "the one who blesses us". That by far is much more meaningful to me because it's something happening now rather than happened in the past. Think about how it changes one's perspective.

    Oh goody another OSAS thread!

I'll probably go through your comment and make other comments, but I wanted to stop here and say this. Those verbs are aorist tense. Scholarly consensus was to translate aorist as past tense. That's problematic though because there are scripture verses where that is clearly impossible (can't...

Woman can't teach in the congregation

The meaning seems indicate acting autocratically

GOD'S SABBATH AND THE REAL TRUTH OF COL 2:14-17 WHO DO WE BELIEVE GOD or MAN?

The law of Moses was a parentheses in the revelation of GOD, IMO to bring all men under condemnation and to establish a legal context for the cross.

GOD'S SABBATH AND THE REAL TRUTH OF COL 2:14-17 WHO DO WE BELIEVE GOD or MAN?

You're the one who's deceived. You proclaim Moses instead of (anti) Christ.

Woman can't teach in the congregation

Have you seen the video of Benny Hinn's wife talking about the holy ghost enema? Now she's definitely someone who shouldn't be speaking in church.

Woman can't teach in the congregation

Exactly. That odd statement is what set me on the track where I found that 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 may be an interpolation, which creates too much doubt to be dogmatic about it.

    Revelation 3:5

He will most definitely finish what he starts - if we let him. IMO monergism, which is what you are espousing, is an untenable biblical concept.

GOD'S SABBATH AND THE REAL TRUTH OF COL 2:14-17 WHO DO WE BELIEVE GOD or MAN?

Paul was clearly talking about the whole law, not this imaginary fiction you have running through your head. btw, if you live by the law and don't do everything in the law (which you don't) you are cursed. For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse, for it is written, “Cursed...

We are commanded to live by faith, and the 4th commandment is not of faith.
