The new way has the power to cause people to do the righteousness required by the law, not obey the law (the letter). Language matters. If you are required to obey the law, then you are required to observe the sabbath. Obeying Christ's law fulfills the righteousness required by the 4th...

    Jesus and Our Parents

This is a good example how the law is weak and poor in regards to effectuating righteousness. Law: Honor your mother and father. Jesus: Let the dead bury your dead father. Law: Honor your mother and father. Jesus: Those who do the will of GOD are my mother. Law: Honor your mother and...

All of that has been accomplished. The 490 years ended 3.5 years after Christ's death.

I guess you take yourself a little too seriously. I used the word church to be grammatically correct. Context makes it clear what I was referring to.

One of my big issues has been 1 hour/week Christianity followed by the lord's supper at Golden Corral. What is the most deserted place in the world? Church at noon on Sundays.

The discussion on this issue has become comical for me (I'm not directing that to you at all; I agree with you), because the confusion is so easily cleared up, yet folks refuse to hear it for some reason. Does total destruction = set aside? No, yet they both apply to the law.

I know you mean well, brother, but with this kind of talk you just sow confusion. There is no difference in the righteousness they point to and seek to accomplish in man, but there is a vast difference in their natures. You keep saying you want to find the way to keep the 10 commandments, yet...

    Obedience, Oh No!

Wherever I'm at I always try to examine everything against " Am I treating others like I would like to be treated". Also, if the opportunity presents itself I try to act in a way that makes their life better somehow.

Why are you so concerned about keeping the 10 commandments of Moses and not so much the words of Christ?
  10. HeRoseFromTheDead

    Obedience, Oh No!

I hope you don't interpret my words when I say we are not under the law of Moses to mean that we are not under law at all. We are under law to Christ.

I think you need to have counsel with your heart when that happens to try to understand what you are trying to accomplish by hating and being resentful. In other words, instead of trying to obey "DO NOT HATE!" admit your hatred/resentment, defend it if necessary, and then with a conscience...

That translation has added words that are not there and confuses the meaning. The Greek literally says "the ministry of death in letters carved in stone" and then says at the end of the sentence that it was made void/useless/obsolete (transitory in your translation).

Do you understand what it is to hear the holy spirit?

Your adding to the word. 2 Corinthians 3:7 does not say as a (ministration of death). It specifically calls the 10 commandments the ministration of death (which is done away).

If you lived in the south you could easily find a church that preaches the 10 commandments.

    Obedience, Oh No!

Listen to the voice of the holy spirit in your heart and obey it.

    Obedience, Oh No!

Paul is referring to the type of law (Romans 3:27). Of works (i.e., effort)? No, a law of faith. It's impossible to accept your interpretation considering the facts that Paul said in 2 Corinthians 3:7 that GOD made void (καταργέω) the 10 commandments and then in Romans 3:31 asks if we make...

    Obedience, Oh No!

It definitely wasn't the law of liberty because if you left other commandments undone you would die. We are free from the law of Moses by being under law to Christ, therefore it is the law of liberty.

    Obedience, Oh No!

This is not true. The holy spirit is the power to do the will of GOD. The holy spirit is given by GOD's grace. Grace just means favor. The only people I know of who talk about grace like it's a power are hyper-grace folks.

    Obedience, Oh No!

I've already told you that it doesn't plainly say that at all. Paul didn't write "the law". I'd explain it again, but I know it'll fall on deaf ears. This is what the Greek says: Do we then make void law by the faith? May it not be, but we establish law. Romans 3:31
