    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

You seem to be endowed with a high degree of self-righteousness.

What Does It Mean That God Desires All People To Be Saved?

Could it not be that OT Saints “believed” that God would send His promised Savior, and the we NT Saints, simply believe He did?

What Does It Mean That God Desires All People To Be Saved?

If you equate Christianity as a synonym for “Religion,” your statement has merit; However, if you refer to the Gospel as being full of Gnosticism, we will disagree. Remember, it was the religious elite of the day, that insisted Jesus was the apostate and should die. A bunch of “do’s & don’ts” is...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I have indeed heard, that because it had gone through 7 revisions, their thinking was that since 7 is a Biblical indication of “Completion, or perfection,” it was simply proof of their assertions. I am in no way “anti” KJB. I love it, but it took a few decades before I realized there were other...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Has anyone here actually tried to read a copy of an original 1611 KJ Bible? I have an older friend that used to travel the country as an evangelist and he met many preachers. One he found truly inspiring preached from an original 1611 version and he asked if I knew where he could get one. I...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

My question was to Nehemia6. They admit to a 10% inclusion of LXX quotes in the NT (which I think is low) and if indeed they consider the original version corrupt, then so must our received Scriptures be.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

So, are you saying the original LXX was corrupt, or the later revisions?

The post you use is attributed to me, but that was actually a reply to one of my post’s by 7thMoon

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Are there any extant portions that predate Their revisions? Do the many quotes from the LXX in the NT vary from the available current manuscripts?

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

My post was in response to someone who stated the LXX was corrupt, and I simply pointed out it was indeed used extensively in the NT, you seem to agree.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I think you missed the nuanced nature of my statement. The basis for determining the source of those OT quotes uses linguistic analysis to determine if the text is closer to a literal rendering of the Septuagint or the Hebrew text.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Here is an interesting snippet of a discussion from a “Biblical Hermeneutics” site: What about the NT citations of the LXX. There are times that the NT authors cite a version of the LXX closely. Other times the so-called use of the LXX is dubious and debatable. But the better question is why...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

If that indeed is true, I wonder why about 80% of NT quotes from the OT can be traced to the Greek translation of the OT.

Did God occupy any space before creation?

Did God occupy any space before creation?

Anthropomorphic language is an attempt to ascribe human characteristics to God. It helps in terms of relating to Him. Science cannot measure a spirit, or a soul. He is exactly the size He needs to be: always has been and always will be. Only He knows His true size.

    Something to Ponder.

I have read these, and studied for some time. Much study can come to naught if one can not properly apply these words to our daily lives.

    Something to Ponder.

In that slowness, there is thought, and if one has ceased to be an enemy of God, in those thoughts there will be wisdom.

What purpose is God carrying out during the Millennial Kingdom?

I haven’t read all the replies, but it seems to me that one of the most obvious reasons for the 1,000 year reign , will be to show all of humanity that satan cannot be fully blamed for our sins, as he will be bound for this period of time. This glaring fact will lay to rest where the sin problem...

The following quote is from a book written by a Holocaust survivor. I think it frames our ability to make choices very well.
