Is Anyone Here the Child of Parent(s) Who Were Older (Having Children at 50 or Above)? What Do You See as the Pros and Cons?

That is for sure a plus that he was able to spend quality time with you as he was retired. Especially with how the word is going, parents are inclined to spend vastly more time at work than at home. When we die, I'm certain we won't regret spending more time in the office but with spending more...

    The hatred of Jews

Candance Owens had a really good take on Piers Morgan about this. Perhaps she is no longer favorable to a few because of this, but I don't always agree with her either. Nevertheless, she is pretty spot on in this topic.

If You Had to Describe Your Depression to Someone, What Would You Say That It's Like?

I've experience "depression" but I don't know how to describe it any other way than explaining how I physically feel. When I have felt depression, I typically feel extremely lethargic and I want to self-isolate. The problem is that the more I do nothing and self-isolate, the longer I have...

Is Anyone Here the Child of Parent(s) Who Were Older (Having Children at 50 or Above)? What Do You See as the Pros and Cons?

Absolutely, great point. That is one of the many blessings of being raised in a big family. Sadly, the growth rate is below replacement level and fewer people will know what it's like to have a more robust family support system.

You speak a lot of truth. From my experience, money was never an issue because of my father's job but I didn't get the quality time most kids got to have. Pick your poison... less security and more quality time or more quality time and less security. I do think there is a happy medium somewhere...

Is Anyone Here the Child of Parent(s) Who Were Older (Having Children at 50 or Above)? What Do You See as the Pros and Cons?

So the age gap is more secondary, and the primary focus of this thread is if it's fruitful for senior citizens to have children with women half their age. I don't think it's a good idea to start a family when you're a senior citizen even if your wife is in her prime. I believe the best result...

Exactly correct. They call it the "666 rule". 6 feet+, 6 figure+ income, and 6-pack abs. The devil is literally in the details. :devilish:

You're correct that dual incomes is essential for most families today. I hinted as to why. Why do you think we are dependent on dual income as a country now? Did doubling the work force decrease the demand for workers thereby decreasing wages across the board? As far as biblical instruction...

Very well said brother. Just out of curiosity, have you seen or heard about that insane surgery to lengthen the tibia or femur bone by inserting a rod and slowly extending it over time? People go through great lengths to change things about them and it's wild when considering the many negative...

I do agree with this post. It's just that we can hand craft many scenarios which could make an age gap relationship good or bad depending on external factors. My point is that when we take away those external factors and look at the fact there exist an age gap, one cannot make an...

Let's assume it does generally happen. It doesn't necessarily mean it WILL happen. Some people do only look at the physical and I can see this happening when they do this. But, it's possible to find a God fearing woman who is young and at her peak physical appearance. That shouldn't be all you...

    It's good to be single.

I tend to think dating is significantly harder today than it was 50+ years ago. The push for equality between men and women directly hinders the biblical standards and roles explicitly given to us as Christians. The brainwashing done on women to value work life over family life has doubled the...

Agreed. It's easier to be succinct an filter what you want/don't want online. However, it takes away from the "romanticism" of getting a cup of coffee and learning about each other's wants and needs. Welp, that's what people sign up for when they date online though, right? lol

Isn't it a good thing that he told you what he was wanting? I understand you took it as him demanding you do this, but perhaps he just wanted to be clear on what he's looking for. It sounds like it wasn't a good match and nothing became of it. I do understand the point you're making in that...

I didn't respond to this paragraph as it didn't properly load. I agree this probably happens often. No-fault divorce has ruined marriage in this country. Feminism has infected the church. For the sake of discussion, lets say a 30 year old man marries an 18 year old woman. 20 years later, they...

Studies indicate people in general, men and women, get calmer as they age. They can regulate emotions better, appreciate the important things in life, focus more on the present, etc... This is especially true in marriages but especially not true with single women as they age though. In fact...

My opinion comes directly from observation. People find it "icky" that a young adult and an older adult are together. I 100% understand the ick factor. However, I find country/rap music extremely icky. I find pineapple on pizza icky. Sushi is pretty icky to me. Nevertheless, there isn't a moral...
