The distance between true and false faith is basically the difference from the brain to the heart. We must believe from the heart. Adherance to a creed is not faith. Also, any faith and confession that does not result in the new birth cannot save. We must be born again. We must be born of God.

We have cultural Christians here in the States too. It’s a false hope. Christianity is based on knowing God. Wanting to be baptized while not believing in the resurrection is strange indeed, seeing that the whole thing represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and our union with...

Paul said we must examine ourselves if we are in the faith. What need is there to examine ourselves if there is no such thing as false faith. If faith saves us, and it does, then the command to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith means that it is possible to have a false...

If I have it wrong then so do you, because I agree with what you said here. What you described are some of the defining characteristics I mentioned. ;)

Works do not add anything to “saved by faith”. Faith alone is sufficient to save. Yet living faith has defining characteristics. Just like a physical life has defining characteristics.

Works can be like trying to earn a wage, and earning a wage is not grace. Fruit is a natural outgrowth of what God is doing in you and in your life. And a response of a grateful heart.

James is talking about mere belief in a creed that is not faith. “ you believe there is one God” is a mere creed. Plenty of people believe in creeds and may even be orthodox in their beliefs who do not have a living faith Faith that is mere talk is dead.

Good points. Works produced by a loving heart is not the same as trying to work for salvation. The difference between fruit and works.

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

That’s a red herring, because those are not the points we’ve been discussing. I have said that individuals were foreknown before they existed, and that God elected and predestinated only those whom He foreknew. In agreement with Paul ( Romans 8:28-30) and Peter ( 1 Peter 1:1-2).

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

The Bible nowhere explicitly states that God’s foreknowledge is after conversion. The Bible nowhere states that predestination is an act of God that follows conversion. The Bible nowhere states that God foreknew a corporate group but did not foreknow individuals. The Bible nowhere states that...

You probably cannot quote anyone beyond people from the last century or so that hold your particular and novel position on predestination.

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

Did He foreknow whom He would adopt before they were saved? Or are we postulating that God doesnt have perfect foreknowledge?

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

Even Leighton Flowers, whom you quote a lot, agrees that Gods knowledge and Sovereinty over salvation extends to individuals, not just corporately, which is basically the position I have taken and which you have argued against. See article 7 of the Baptist Faith and Message” which Leighton...

You say and claim I’m bringing boogeyman argumentation, because I point out that your arguments tend towards open theism and then you bring up the boogeyman of Gnosticism. The hypocrisy of that is stunning. So since you said this, I will say I’m defending the truth of God’s omniscience, not...
