    That Virgin Thread

It is an interesting parallel: the 10 virgins and the Sermon on the Mount Matthew 7 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your...

    Born Again

John 4 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have...

    Apostasy 101

People are not automatons. If you started well but are led away by false doctrines there are grave consequences. God doesn't obey FOR you. You still choose to obey. The sheer weight of scripture confirms this. Even the faith of some has been overthrown.

Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

You are misreading my post. We are in agreement. Dave is asserting that the Baptism of the spirit is exclusively the laying on of hands and exclusively by the Apostles. I am challenging him that this is not the case. That the Elders ALSO laid on hands (not just the apostles).

Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

The Father gave Jesus the Spirit without measure (John 3v34). The gifts are given as He wills. If you have faith like a mustard seed you can move mountains. It's the exercise of faith that holds back the current church. The problem lies not on God's side of the equation. The problem lies in the...

Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

And how do you know that dead weren't raised in the last 2000 years through prayer?

Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

Read 1 Timothy 4v14 again. The GIFT was imparted with the laying on of hands (by the elders). Not the ordaining as minister. Read it again. When will you admit you are wrong, now that the evidence has been provided?

No evidence provided? I asked for the scripture and you respond with a one liner?

Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

So what if Paul laid hands on Timothy. That's not the point you are trying to assert. The Elders (others and plural) laid hands on Timothy. Which sinks your assertions.

Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

@Dave-L 1 Timothy 4 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Paul, written to Timothy. Referring to the eldership in Timothy's church. @Dave-L : When the Apostle John died (as per your assertion) was...

Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

In fact @Dave-L , you were being disingenuous, and have still not answered me on the earlier post. Where did the scriptures say raising the dead? My Mark 16 scripture did not refer to it.

    Apostasy 101

In the beginning someone (a person) is not a believer in Christ, but one day is presented with the Gospel. That person changes his/her mind and believes in Christ. Then comes along a false prophet (yes, the ones the bible warns about). This person gives heed to these new doctrines as presented...

    Anyone read the entire Bible?

Yeah when I was a new believer I went through OT in 40 days (40 pages/day). Then approx. another 10 days for NT. Read it many time since. Never just read the NT. The OT is crucial to understanding God. The NT church in Acts only had the OT as their reference.

    Apostasy 101

R Kelly believed he could fly. He believed he could touch the sky. He thought about it every night and day. Spread his wings to fly away.
