It's a colloquialism. Get over it. When someone is so relaxed under the power of the Holy Spirit that they are essentially unresponsive, they are described as "slain in the Spirit". No, it doesn't mean "dead" so all speculation and contrasting with "life" is irrelevant.

Such behaviour (by the pastor and henchmen) is highly inappropriate but doesn't, by itself, prove that all such experiences are "of the devil". ;)
