about the baker who lost business when sued by "gays"

Personally, I would have made the cake and prayed "Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do over it" and left it up to Jesus to sort out. Then I would have donated the entire proceeds of the sale to charity so I did not profit from something I did not believe in. Losing your life's...

Blessings to all from South Australia

Haha, well not completely Aussie - New Zealander by birth, but have lived here for 15 years. Believe me, on the list of things I worry about in life, being Catholic is definitely not one of them ;) May Jesus be in your heart always

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

So, this happened in Kerala, India in 2013. No denying that the face is similar to that of the shroud. This one is currently being scientifically evaluated.

That's not what is being said. You are correct in that Christ is the key and without him there is no salvation. That is what the bit about living within God's commandments is about. Jesus is the new and everlasting covenant and without acceptance of him salvation cannot happen. But, God hears...

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

I was talking more in general terms and to those who have brought up the subject of the church holding onto all sorts of things other than the shroud specifically. Believe me, there are a lot of things sitting in churches, especially through Europe. But back to the shroud and your mention of...

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

And this is the truth. Think of the RCC as an improperly catalogued museum of the bizarre when it comes to relics. You also have to remember that when these things were supposedly found, the technology and fingertip knowledge we all take for granted today was simply not available - it was...

Blessings to all from South Australia

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'm here to learn and share. I want to learn other people's beliefs and viewpoints and I will share mine. I genuinely believe that faith is a matter of conscience and I'm not going to judge someone if we disagree on a subject. I'd much rather focus on what...

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

Hahahaha, you are quoting the 'Life Of Brian' now The Bible does reveal a fascinating thing about Jesus in relation to this discussion we haven't talked about yet though... The passage that's been shared that proves there are 2 burial cloths also reveals that Jesus is a folder and not a scruncher 😃

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

Yes it is and it's another relic that there are a few contesting versions of, so none can be verified as being the real one. Same with the holy prepuce. A lot of 'relics' were brought back during the crusades by pious fighters wanting to 'be the one' who had liberated something of importance...

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

Here's a few things I can think of that are claimed to be linked directly to Jesus that are supposedly still around able to be seen. 1) The shroud of Turin 2) The Suderim of Oviedo 3) The Sancta Scala in Rome (The stairs Jesus was supposedly lead up to be judged by Pontius Pilate.) They were...

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

Ahhhh yes. The RCC is sitting on all sorts of relics that are worthy of sharing with our Christian Brothers for discussion and scrutiny. I'd love to share some eucharistic miracles, but it's early days and I don't want to come off as a Catholic missionary lol.

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

The Sudarim is definitely the supposed cloth from Jesus' tomb. I'd forgotten about the one you speak of though.

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

No, I *think* and I stress think because it's been a while since i watched the doco, that the theory is that the earthquake (it would have to have been an Aftershock) that tore the temple veil at his death released radiation. That caused his body to produce a shadow on the cloth. I believe it's...

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

My understanding is that the shroud of Turin image appears to be a primitive x-ray sort of image, whereas the Sudarim is just a cloth that was over his bloodied face. I believe that the Sudarim was placed over his bloodied face and then yes, he was just laid on a cloth that was then vertically...

Blessings to all from South Australia

Thankyou very much. And may the I would like to share something with you from a prophet in our church. It sums up my personal belief about different denominations and different religions altogether. "Members of all faiths are equal before God. God rules over each faith just like a sovereign...

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

What you are talking about there is called the Sudarim. That again supposedly exists, in a church in Oviedo, Spain. I have seen a documentary that shows how Jesus was perhaps wrapped and it does pave the way for both relics to potentially exist.

The shroud of Turin... Authentic or fake???

Quite correct. The RCC does not hold it up as worthy of belief and it is not officially approved. Due to the murky history of it, clear links back to Christ himself cannot be made. But on the other hand, there are things about it that are difficult to explain at the same time. At the end of...
