Asking the Father for his Spirit.

Yes, and as Sawdust said referring to 1 Corinthians 12:13: We were all baptized by one Spirit into one body.

Matt 18:9 Was Jesus being literal with this statement?

We need to understand that divine truth may be conveyed by both literal and figurative language.

    Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit

Yes, and Hebrews 6:4-6 indicates that the unforgivable sin is intentional apostasy.

The word of God is not a secret code that needs unlocked.

Amen, although almost any reputable translation is adequate, including the Good News, New International, New American, etc. Jesus' prayer in MT 11:25 and his statement in MT 18:3 indicate that God's requirement for salvation is simple enough for a child to understand.

    The Gospels and the Mystery

Good points, but Hebrews 7:18-10:1 also ought to be cited, which teaches that Jesus fulfilled and thereby ended the old Mosaic covenant aimed mainly at the Jews for the purpose of providing Messiah and instituted a new covenant aimed at all humanity for the purpose of providing salvation for...

Please help me to respond to some of my non-trinitarian friends

It is biblically better to describe the mediation of Jesus in terms of relationship rather than geometry, especially because Jesus is both God and man, meaning that insofar as God can be manifest (pun intended) most completely, that man is Jesus.

In your opinion do you believe world is about 6000 years old

While science is not inerrant, it indicates the universe is billions of years old, and that it is unique from a "singularity", which correlates quite nicely with the Genesis description of creation ex nihilo. Also, if God is omnipresent, then His Spirit fills 3-dimensional space, although in an...

Which translation sits best with you?

Oh, I see. And LK 11:28 says that Jesus replied, "Blessed rather [instead] are those who hear the word of God and obey it." As Jesus also said in MT 4:4: "Man does not live by bread alone, but [also] on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Re 1PT 2:2, I think MT 5:6 is along the...

    Bible verse?

Which translation sits best with you?

Well, yes, but the ultimate need to find is salvation, which I sought and God has provided, but sometimes secondary desires remain unsatisfied in this life, such as a RBT-like Bible teacher in Fort Worth.

Variety is good and perhaps a variety of good music will be available in heaven.

Does Jesus Ever Forgive Those Who Are Not Sorry

You cite Hebrews 10:10 but neglect to note that 10:19 indicates than “we” refers to brethren in Christ and that 10:26-27 says “we” does NOT include those who claim to be Christians but deliberately persevere in sinning.
