I'm hearing numerous preachers teach that all our futures sins are already forgiven
Is this why is doesn't matter if a christian lives in sin or not and once saved always saved in true?
My pastor tells me that the bible teaches there is nothing a christian can possibly do that would cause them to not go to heaven
And this seems to be the general consensus of many here after reading quite a few posts from others.
Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
It is no different from the Old Testament or New Testament.
Our sins separate us from God whether we confess Christ or not.
In the Old Testament the Jews that were disobedient to God's commandments which is goodness were cut off.
In the New Testament it is the same if you do not continue in the goodness of God you will be cut off.
If it was required in the Old Testament how much more will it be required in the New when a Spirit led person has the power to abstain from sin.
God is not going to say sin if you want it is alright.
Heb 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Heb 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Heb 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
Heb 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.
Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Just like the disobedient Jews in the wilderness could not enter in to God's rest the saints who are disobedient will not enter in to God's rest.
Which is why the Bible warns the saints not to be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin which then they are being like the Jews in the wilderness.
Which they departed from the living God.
So sin does affect our relationship with God to no relationship.
But it can be corrected if a person acknowledges the truth and does likewise.
Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
2Pe 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
2Pe 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Luk 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Luk 12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Again if a person is saved and goes back to the world enjoying sins they will not be saved.
And it would have been better if they did not know the truth than to depart from it.
But it can be corrected if a person acknowledges the truth and does likewise.
Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
This is saying if a person departs from the truth to believe an alternate reality whether becoming atheist, not claiming Jesus as Lord and Savior anymore, or embracing another religion they cannot be saved again.
1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
The new age christianity that interprets the Bible according to the occult and evolution, and people are going to evolve to be spiritual, and greater, and Jesus became an ascended master among others, and there is no personal God, but they honor the God of forces the power of the Cosmos, and the New Age Christ is the next world teacher.
The time will come that people will not want to hear the truth of the Bible but want to hear it according to the new age.
Some people will depart from the faith and follow the new age christianity.
Which if they departed from the faith it had to be true faith when they claimed faith.
For if it was false faith how could they depart from the faith.
So a person can depart from the faith.
These people cannot be saved again for God will not allow it.
But new agers that did not accept the truth can be saved.
But if they go back to the new age they cannot be saved.
And there is a difference between doubt and embracing it.
Some might wonder about the new age after they were saved thinking it might be true but not commit to it.
If they stop wondering about it and believe it is not true they are alright.
But while they are wondering about it then it is sin.
