Quite the weather here tonight. We've been having an above average amount of tornadoes in Oklahoma this year (the weekend before last 4 Okies lost their lives due to tornado activity and the Weather Service showed that 22 tornadoes hit us in one day). Tonight, one was heading in my direction. Sirens kept going off. Lights kept flickering. Cell phone kept telling me, "There is a tornado in your area. This is a life threatening situation. Take cover now!" Then the hail came. It has all now moved on and I'm blessed to be here unharmed. The bad part of the storm seems to have went around my scruffy neighborhood. But, other areas of the city have downed power lines, down street lights, trees on cars, trees in bedrooms, barns blown away, damage to buildings and businesses, the biggest highway through town is blocked with debris, a nursing home in a nearby small town took a direct hit, etc. etc. We are told to stay home and off the streets due to debris and downed power lines.
will keep you and all the folks who are dealing with the bad weather in my prayers.

PA weather is awful. It's finally spring. It's not horrible weather, but it's schizophrenic. It's gloomy and overcast every day. The temp is sometimes in 70s and others in the 40s. It rains everyday, especially on the weekends.

I miss the sun. Also moving would be great.

We can trade weather if you want. I'll give you my constantly sunny 90 degree weather. Soon to be over 100. You give me the dark, wet and cool weather.

At the moment of writing this thread it is 23 degrees celcius, was a bit showery earlier but I went outside to hang the laundry after work and could feel the sun burning my neck. So a sunny warm day in Auckland New Zealand perfect with a little breeze at 5.37 pm Tues 13 Dec 2022.
Not that it matters, but Jett Lawrence (AUS) just won the AMA Supercross Championship. Weather here in Haughton, LA is wet (raining) and 67 F.

For sure! I would take 90 degree weather anyday. Love summer ☀️

The dark, wet, and cool weather that goes from 45 to 66 at the highest comes with some fun filled allergies attached as well. 🤣

I will say the sun peaked through today in the evening. So feeling less dramatic. 😌

We have a saying where I live (more like a Q/A riddle) ~

Q: What follows two days of rain? A: Monday.

Lol. I would make that trade any day. I can't stand summers in my area. Too much heat and too much brightness for my taste. Luckily allergies have never been a problem for me, but some people I know get hit hard by it.

Almost Heaven West Virginia
Waaay too dry.

We are still experiencing a drought in West Virginia. I heard that the southern tip got hit by the Helene rain, but I'm conserving the little water I have in the well. My friend is a farmer and has to haul water to his cattle. The grass in his fields is nearly dead.
Please pray that the Lord will provide a little more this week to raise the water table some and that my friend will get emergency funding. His name is Jeff.

An Okie meteorologist posted this on fb, but he's further south in the state. It was 28 this morning up where I'm at. Still no rain here.

El Reno? Enid? Oklahoma is like that, yes it is. I was stationed in Altus AFB back in the day, way back. I have a photo of myself sliding all over in the snow, (Actually sleet and ice). It was the very fist time I had seen snow falling. I was 18, raised in S. Ca.

Oklahoma has a lot of unsung beauty.

I enjoyed reading your post and hearing a bit about your time in Oklahoma!

I live north of Tulsa on the edge of the Osage. I grew up in the Osage. The Osage is rugged, but in a beautiful way. One of my favorite areas of the state is the Grand Lake area. I love going over Sailboat Bridge.

I haven't spent any time in the southern half of the state. I hope to get to do that someday. I see pics of all the beautiful places down that way.
