How well do you understand it?
I would say - very well - I grew up with it as the only bible version the church I grew up in used. In a way, it is like learning another language - but - once you learn that language - you are "good for life" - and, do not need modern versions based on corrupted manuscripts.

That's the problem.
Nope - no problem.

The problem is people do not want to try to understand it. And/Or they do not want to do what it takes to understand it.

However, the benefit is amazing!

I said nothing about mind control.
I said that to make a point - based on modern day mind control methods and state-of-the-mind reality. See the next comment below.

You do not even understand what I said....
I don't think you understood what I said, either - if you knew anything about modern-day mind control, you would have understood my remark.

In the possible case that you are correct - perhaps, try again to explain whatever it is that you think I missed...

You speak like a propagandist...
Nope - quite the opposite, actually.

And, one who wishes to make me see the KJV as you want it to be seen, not as it really is.
You can choose to see it however you will.

If you have real actual bona fide solid factual proof - not time-wasting wishy-washy double-talk - concerning what "it really is" - including the origins of how it came to be what "it really is" - feel free to present it. But, as the saying goes...

"Put your money where your mouth is."

Just remember that the devil has never worked harder to destroy the truth than he is doing today.

Be careful what version(s) of history and men's opinions you decide to believe, trust, and support.

It only makes sense...

Satan is going to promote a translation that will not have us to understand properly what the Hebrew and Greek
contains and intends to express, yet at the same time makes the reader feel convinced that he has all that is needed.

Ancient men used to bow down to idols and be moved by the religious feelings that such an act will cause them to experience.
Same applies to how reading a certain translation can cause such a feeling in those so inclined...

grace and peace .................
People read the KJV because they want the uncorrupted truth.

If that is the case? Then it should be easy... Matthew 4:3?

Tell me what this passage is conveying to the reader, please.
What was Satan wanting to achieve with Jesus.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God,
command that these stones be made bread. Matthew 4:3

What was Satan's objective with such a temptation for Jesus?

life" - and, do not need modern versions based on corrupted manuscripts
In what manner do you believe the manuscripts are corrupted? For what purpose? To add or remove what specific doctrines?

With EVERY translation there exists a goal of translation that seems to focus heavily on certain aspects of doctrine while depressing other doctrines so that the denominations can promote their particular interests.
The manuscripts of yesteryear are examined carefully by photographing them under various light colors to bring out all old ink to make the characters visible. Also to lighten the background. (Usually they are black on black with the oldest ones)

Alexandrian are the most reliable but not perfect
Syriac tend to be okayish
Coptic is good as well but has problems. The Oldest is the Sainiticus. And it tends to have the largest number of errors.

Masoretic are still faithful to Old Testament but have "fixed" deliberate misspellings with notes in margins.

Then there are manuscripts from Russia, Africa, Egypt, Turkey and just about everywhere.

The Latin Vulgate has at least 4 major variations from which all of their various copies were made. It started with one by Jerome and degenerated from there.

The Oxford/Cambridge University translation was never popular until 200 years after its translation (the one you call KJV) and they used all available manuscripts they could find. However their search for manuscripts started something....and as soon as they finished that translation the searching discovered even more manuscripts....which then led to the immediate start of the earliest RSV Translation.

EVERY English translation has used ALL manuscripts they could obtain to figure out what originally was said....that includes the modern translations.

There's been no corruption. Just a distillation and refining process to make sure what was said was truly said.

Many pastors also used his messages for their private study!
Now all his messages are available on CD and thumb drive!

God has provided for this generation more than they could imagine to ask for.
I was initially dumbfounded to see how good a teacher God made him to be.

Do I see RBT as infallible?
NO! God demands that we each do our own thinking with the anointing God has given us.

And, also...

RBT is the only teacher I have witnessed to that would openly admit he made an error and offer the correction.
Never seen anyone do that before..

I do not believe the word of God is a secret code that has to be figured out, unlocked or decoded.
True BUT the input / illumination/understanding comes from the Holy Spirit (not from the "seminary"). And Rom 10:17 reveals where FAITH comes from.

The Holy Spirit has raised up a few good seminaries...

Then after a while the lazy take over and corrupt them like socialists want to corrupt the republic of the Constitution.

If someone wishes to remain anti-intellectual?
Then, never seek out someone who knows how to teach you from the Greek the epistles of Paul.
For, anti-intellectuals always had a hard time with what Paul was really saying...

2 Peter 3:16
He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters.
His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant
and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Its nothing new.
In Paul's day there were anti-intellectuals, too.

God intends us to learn (by grace) things that in our natural brain would not have been able to grasp.
When we see ourselves comprehending what we know we would not naturally be understanding?
That is when it becomes apparent that God's grace is truly transforming us into His image.

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed
into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We are given challenges by God to snap us out of our old ways we were used to for self confidence.
Stubborn people remain un transformed, maintaining an unchanging sense of self confidence....
God sees to it to expose them by demanding grace transformation..

Yup - I remember "Zion Bible Institute in Rhode Island (I think).

For, anti-intellectuals always had a hard time with what Paul was really saying...
And "Intellectuals" don't necessarily get it accurate. How many "Intellectuals" do you suppose are Catholics, and totally ignorant of what the Bible evens says - but claim to be HIS ONLY TRUE CHURCH on earth???

God intends us to learn (by grace) things that in our natural brain would not have been able to grasp.
Yup - that's what I said - the Written word PLUS the illumination of the holy Spirit, who Jesus sent to lead us into truth.

God is no respecter of persons...

God raises up intellectual people to bring to us what their abilities can supply the body of Christ.
On the other hand.... Satan counters with recruiting intellectual fraudulent souls that take pleasure in evil doing.

But, without God utilizing very intelligent people it could not be done without what they can bring forth.

Its the resentment against intelligence that Satan feeds on, when an something God wants to make known from Scripture
that anti-intellectuals become a tool for censorship and suppression.

Censorship and suppression is something I suffer from, they do not want to hear it, so they blind their eyes, and close their ears. Like that makes it go away or something.

God offers just the same. If they begin to whine that they are being denied rewards when they are evaluated?
They will be shown what God was wiling to freely give, and they refused.

I know this is true. That is something a pastor gave a sermon on. She backed it up with scripture.

Very true Bob!

Understanding God’s Word comes only from the Holy Spirit.

In humility with a sincere heart seeking God, we need only ask the Holy Spirit to open our understanding and teach us God’s Word… He is faithful to satisfy every request…. answer every question.

It is God’s Will we understand His Word. The proud will remain blind but those that humble themselves and depend on the Holy Spirit.. they will be satisfied!(y)

Yes! And understanding that God gave a few good teachers comes only from the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 4:3 tells us that a vast majority of the teachers we find today will not be sound in God's eyes!

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number
of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Such it is as we find it today...

Yup "TEACHER" is a "gift of calling" as it were. In the Bereans case it was their comparisons of Paul's "word" to the Scriptures that led them to their conclusions.
