I do not belive the word of God is a secret code that has to be figured out, unlocked or decoded.
God is not a god of mystery, he is not a god of confusion.
He does not hide from us, but shows himself openly. He is like the morning star.
He's word is ment to be easy to understand.

I know Jesus talked in parables to people, but Jesus said this was done to fullfill prophecy.

I do not beleive you have to attend a University to learn the meaning behind God's word. I believe you just have to reach out and take the KJV, and read it.

Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do You speak to the people in parables?”
He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you,
but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does
not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. This is why I speak to them in parables:
‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’ In them the
prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever
seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their
ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’

2 Peter 3:16 (Peter, writing about Paul / Paul's writings) - "16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard-to-be-understood [G1425 - one word in Greek], which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."

-- of Paul's writings (which Peter includes as themselves being "scriptures") "[are] some things hard-to-be-understood"... Peter acknowledges. :)

I missed that one, even though I had read the new testiment. So far from reading past posts on the forums, I see it was a very good thing to come here. The people on this forum truly know the word of God, and are with God.

EVERYONE reads the Bible with their own personally made blinders and filters.
It requires a friend to help. (Cognitive Biases and Cognitive Dissonances)

Because you can't be a Christian alone....you have to do it with people.

The first word of the Lord's prayer should be the clue.

"Our" of "Our Father...." means that someone is speaking on behalf of others.

Yeah. Elizabethan Olde English is a college course all in itself. A foreign language course.
WHY spend time learning it instead of Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Early Latin?

Seems to me that the time would be better spent elsewhere.

Then on top of this why be persuaded into the Anglican Church....because that's who the KJV was translated for....their rules and doctrines.

I barely can hold on the rim of the pail for the Baptist bucket....and it's the widest bucket of them all. More of a ND, but they get weird so very often. Even the Anglicans have given up on the KJV for a newer translation. I really don't get that whole "KJV only " thing when viewed through history. Maybe they think God only talks in Elizabethan Olde Englishe......
Not French, Spanish, German, Russian, or Farsi.....just ye Olde Englishe.

Yes agree, there is a lot that is quite simple and can be understood and believed, namely the Gospel.
I would also recommend avoiding Got Questions et. al.,

Which, of course, is very challenging for those who don’t read 16th-century English.

Oh gosh, not another KJV-only thread.

Guys, these are the last days. Do not waste your time on useless endless debates.

Please use this time to build up your fellowship, trust and walk with the Lord.

Why?
What problem do you have with them?

I'm asking purely out of curiosity because the few times I've seen their answers pop up they have been fine, a bit basic but ok.

Thank you for the inspiration .:)

Not to those of us who read it everyday.;) Are there some words and phrases that are challenging? Yes, as is in all translations. We are required to study.

The opening thread is not directed towards people who read the KJV every day.

"He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God," Eph 4:10-13 ESV

The Bible's basic teachings and history are easy to understand, if God has given us the Holy Spirit and rescued us through his gift of faith in Jesus as the only way to the Father's acceptance.

However, a lot of the deeper truths are very mysterious, for example, the fact that God is three Persons in ONE God, that Jesus is fully God and fully human, and that God has his plans for the whole universe and all humans' lives while at the same time humans are fully responsible for their whole lives. Those and other mysteries cannot be understood by our puny, limited human minds. We need to realize that we can't figure God and humans out completely. He's God and we're not.

I watched these two people talking. One of them I think all know but he was asked about how do you talk to someone that won't listen they know they are correct blah blah blah. His answer was not what I was expecting he flipped it right back at the person as if they were not ready to understand that it could be them again blah blah blah. Its not always like that but.. nice.

So remind us who you are talking about and just what He does or does not do. Yeah GOD. I don't know about you but man.. its always like going back to school.. He says things and shows you things that.. you have to search go study.. and .. sorry why could you not just say it the other way? Its like you ask Him just tell me you love me just as much as you love this other person. What does He do? He shows you a tiny so beautiful tree what .. never seen a tree with so many branches and says "show me a branch that was not originally of the vine. I am the vine you are the branches". Haha.. you couldn't just say I love you just as much? No.. what he said had meaning depth and substances and on and on.

What do we expect God to say or do when we tell up upfront what we personally believe, what He can and cannot do. He will not go against our will. Then.. anything He tells us if from HIM will be in His word and you will say " wow I read that and never saw it".
