Even though they're called 'meal'worms and have some nutrients, I can't get past the idea of eating larvae.

Would you eat anything served to you in a different culture that they consider a delicatessen, as Scripture alludes to. I'm thinking of a previous Christian employer who went to a country and was 'honored' by a roasted rat. He said he felt he had to eat it, lol.

Oh my goodness.

I think I would faint on the spot, especially if it still had the tail!!! :oops:

I do not like any food that I recognize in its formerly living form.

I think I've tried mealworms -- just a small bite -- and the way they were fixed, I think they were crunchy? But not at all something I'd consume on a regular basis.

Would you eat an ostrich egg? Emu egg? Okay, how about duck eggs? Goose eggs?
I used to think all eggs would pretty much taste the same, but I definitely stand corrected. I remember a time when for some reason, brown eggs were much less expensive than white eggs -- and I found out that for some reason, I didn't really like the taste of brown eggs. I don't know if was just the ones I was buying, but the yolk had a sort of "medicine-y" taste.

I used to live at a place that farmed ostriches and served ostrich burgers. I went with friends but think I had something else... They had plenty of empty ostrich egg shells around for decoration.

I've seen cooking shows where different kinds of eggs were cooked... I'd try a few bites, but am not sure I'd like them.

I got to try quail eggs last year, but didn't really notice any difference from white chicken eggs. Maybe my egg-o-meter is just off?

Would you ever eat... tripe?

A Latino friend made me try this a while back. I couldn't get past the smell -- to me, it was like walking into a public restroom.

I could only try a tiny bit of broth and had to throw in the towel.

That's an insult for a reason, and I don't think I'm too excited about eating it.

Speaking of organ "meat" that is not really meat, would you eat liver? Some people love it. Others find it disgusting. Lots of nutrition there though.

Chef Pepin demonstrated how to properly prepare a turkey liver, so I tried it. It was divine.

Stollen, or other versions of swedish or German fruitcakes, are delicious.

American fruitcakes are more properly used as building material. The shelf life of a fruitcake is longer than the life of the shelf.

Would you drink licorice flavored eggnog? Trust me, answer no. Also, don't ask how I know the answer.

I have yet to bring myself to try eggnog. I don't know what mental block is preventing me. It might be that I have developed an erroneous understanding that it is raw egg which brought images of raw egg whites, though I certainly enjoy my eggs over easy. Perhaps I will attempt eggnog from scratch, I learn best via hands on training.

I remember eating ants, and specifically the pivotal point of enjoyment dependent on the number of larvae I encountered. I recall them as tasting a bit citrusy, although that might've been the plant leaf they were wrapped in, if not a combination of both.

Would you try a lettuce wrapped filled with ants?

They say stolen sweets are always sweeter.

I know this one guy who planted too many watermelons and got tired of them, so he started sneaking out in the middle of the night and eating them while pretending there was a farmer in the house who would come out with a shotgun if he heard him, and they tasted good again.

They say ants have a lot of protein. You could make one of those wraps pretty easy by just bringing a lettuce wrap on a picnic and letting the ants do the rest.

But no, I have no interest in eating ants.

Would you eat deviled eggs with experimental fillings? Pickled pepper juice, hummus, pureed bell pepper...

What’s wrong with a juicy steak, fried tomatoes and a really nice red wine? Barbecued, of course.
Those foods are great, but eating them won't amuse the youth group. That's how I found out that roasted meal worms taste a bit like sesame seeds. 😎

Notice I did not say sushi. Sushi is a rice roll with stuff - sometimes raw fish, but sometimes cooked fish, or even no fish, or sometimes sweet potato sushi. Mmmm, sweet potato sushi was delicious...

Ahem. So, would you eat raw fish in sushi, or draped over sushi?
