The norm has become that if you defend yourself with a counterattack when you are attacked, then you are considered the offending terrorist.

Sometimes the best thing to do is tell them they are ugly and their mother dresses them funny since they have the mindset of a 2nd grader

Please don't allegorize this exceptionally clear passage away as Amils do with so much other Scripture.

Isaiah 11:11-12

New King James Version

11 It shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time
To recover the remnant of His people who are left,
From Assyria and Egypt,
From Pathros and Cush,
From Elam and Shinar,
From Hamath and the islands of the sea.
12 He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the earth.
Hi PennEd,

Scripture is undeniable, but it must be read in context. All too often we try to fit the scriptures to whatever is going on in the world rather than fitting what's going on in the world to what the scriptures say. The full passage of Isaiah 11 reads:

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears;
4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

...as I'm sure you will agree, this is describing the Messiah himself, especially when it says, "the rod of His mouth". In Revelation we know that it says when the Messiah comes He will rule the nations with a rod of iron, breaking them to pieces like pottery (Rev. 2:22). Isaiah 11 continues...

6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together;
and a little child will lead them.
7 The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,

for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

...so in this portion, we're given a timeframe AND a location for when the Messiah will rule the nations with a rod of iron. The location is the temple mount (Mount Moriah; Israel) and the timeframe is "in the day the Messiah is here". The passage says there will be no harming or destruction on the day when Messiah is in the land. Isaiah then continues with the passage you shared...

11 It shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time
To recover the remnant of His people who are left,
From Assyria and Egypt,
From Pathros and Cush,
From Elam and Shinar,
From Hamath and the islands of the sea.
12 He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the earth.

So in the day when the Messiah is here and in Israel, He will gather the remnant of His people who are scattered across all the earth. This is why even the orthodoxy themselves reject their own government and the Zionist movement because whether we look at the situation from their perspective (waiting for the Messiah's 1st coming) or our perspective (waiting for the Messiah's 2nd coming), Isaiah is clear that:

1) The regathering of the people into the land doesn't happen until the Messiah is here to do it.
2) There will be peace in the land when the people are there, not war, harm, and bloodshed.

We can even confirm the timing of this happening with one of the most famous passages in Christianity: Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:29-31
Immediately after the tribulation
of those days: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

To put this in order:
1) The tribulation occurs
2) After the tribulation the Messiah appears
3) The nations see Him and mourn
4) The Messiah goes to the holy land and gathers all who are His from the world into Israel
5) He rules the world with a rod of iron and there is peace in Israel.

---

So this current "gathering" into Israel isn't the prophesied return of the chosen people, nor is it the precursor for the Gog Magog war. Because all of that happens after the Messiah is here and reigning (Revelation 20:7-8).

Things have changed over the years. When I first became a member of this site back in 1999 or 2000, there wasn’t this much negativity about Israel. Back then there wasn’t any forums, only a chat option.

Since then I have seen that Israel has been pictured in a steadily increasing negative light. Why is that? More advanced propaganda from Israel’s adversaries?

Negative perhaps, but I don't know any specific person inside the United States who believes Israel doesn't have the right to defend itself.

This makes me think of the little toadie that ran off crying when Ralphie let loose on his bully friend. The little squirt had made a lot of noise up to that point, until Ralphie scared him more than his buddy did.

NP. I was wrong to assume that everyone has watched A Christmas Story because it airs at least once every year during the holiday season.

I have a better headline.

"Woman Wants Five Minutes of Fame."

Perhaps, but like I said, I'm more worried about what the police told her. She wasn't doing anything wrong, even if she was doing it for "fame". Why punish her? And why no one else?

I think that's part of it, the nutcases found a place to gather without having to leave home. But also, I think we're nearing the end, or the beginning of the end.

What really disturbs me is that the hatred of Jews is on the rise again. Both here and in Europe.

People I know and who I thought were intelligent and good people are just jumping on the bandwagon supporting Palestine no matter what.

I’m not ashamed to say I support Israel and the Jews, but golly how much trouble that causes me.

Nevertheless, I stand by Israel and the Jews!
God is going to turn Israel as a nation to the truth, and restore the kingdom on earth back to the Hebrews.

Which He said He is going to gather the whole house of Israel back to their land all 12 tribes, and leave none of them in the nations anymore, and they shall know the LORD their God from that time forward, and He will never hide His face from them again.

Israel is blinded in part until salvation is no longer available to the Gentiles, and so all Israel shall be saved.

Which God will make a full end of all Gentile nations, but not make a full end of Israel although they will not be wholly unpunished.

When salvation is no longer available to the Gentiles the world will make war against Jerusalem, Hebrews, which Jesus will save them which is the battle of Armageddon.

God is love, and loves all people, but He has to end sin on earth one day, so He is giving the world 7 years to have their way, and cause all people who do not love Him to follow the New Age Christ, and when they do and attack Israel then God will end sin on earth.

God warns the saints of the new age movement which they interpret the Bible according to the occult and evolution, and people are evolving to be spiritual, and Jesus evolved to be an ascended master, and there is no personal God, and the New Age Christ is the final teacher and above Jesus.

The new age movement is the beginning of the end.

They believe Lucifer is a god, and an alien, that gave mankind intelligence, and will help them to have peace, advance, and evolve along with the New Age Christ.

They do not believe Lucifer is a fallen angel because they do not believe in a God, but their higher power is the God of forces, or the power of nature.

The time will come that people will not want to hear the truth of the Bible, but according to their own lusts, the new age movement

Since God is giving the world their way for 7 years the fallen angels will be able to work in the world more than in the past.

So the hatred for Israel will escalate until the world attacks them.

When the New Age Christ negotiates peace in the Middle East it will result in a peace treaty, and it will pave the way for all Hebrews to go to Israel for the Gentile nations will cause it to happen, and the New Age Christ wants them all back on their land, but God means it for good towards the Hebrews, and none of the Hebrews will be left in the nations.

Zec 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Zec 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zec 14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah:

and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Zec 12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
Zec 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

The battle of Armageddon when the world attacks Israel which Jesus will save them, and defeat the world, and destroy them with the brightness of His coming for the flesh cannot stand before it.

So it is good to be on Israel's side.

Paul said God has not cast away His people He once foreknew.

God said if the ordinances of heaven are still in effect the sun, moon, and stars, then His covenant is still with Israel, and they shall not cease to be a nation.

Joe 3:1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

Joe 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

Joe 3:4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head.

Joe 3:9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
Joe 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Joe 3:11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.

Joe 3:12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
Joe 3:13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

Joe 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Joe 3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.

Joe 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

The battle of Armageddon which God says to those that dwell in Israel at that time that give Israel a hard time, the Palestinians, will you render me a recompense, which He will put it back on their own head.

God said gather the Gentiles, the heathen, and let's go to war, and come against Israel, for God will fight for Israel, and the Gentiles will fall.

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

For whose side will you be on Israel's side, or the Palestinians side.

The following are quotes from the first prime minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion, when Israel was first recognized as a state:

"If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?”

- David Ben-Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.

“Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves … politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselvesThe country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country. … Behind the terrorism [by the Arabs] is a movement, which though primitive is not devoid of idealism and self sacrifice.”

— David Ben Gurion. Quoted on pp 91-2 of Chomsky’s Fateful Triangle, which appears in Simha Flapan’s “Zionism and the Palestinians pp 141-2 citing a 1938 speech.

It’s not a matter of maintaining the status quo. We have to create a dynamic state, oriented towards expansion.” –Ben Gurion

“Every school child knows that there is no such thing in history as a final arrangement — not with regard to the regime, not with regard to borders, and not with regard to international agreements.”

— Ben Gurion, War Diaries, 12/03/1947 following Israel’s “acceptance” of the U.N. Partition of 11/29/1947 (Simha Flapan, “Birth of Israel,” p.13)

“After the formation of a large army in the wake of the establishment of the state, we will abolish partition and expand to the whole of Palestine “

— Ben Gurion, p.22 “The Birth of Israel, 1987” Simha Flapan.
