The last 2 posts were to a reply to Amanuensis not to anyone else. Just proof I am not that sharp knife
OK, but are you making mistakes in understanding the scriptures? Is that what this is all about?

To say that you don't believe in a Pre Tribulation Rapture is different than saying you don't believe in any rapture.

To deny the bodily resurrection from the dead is also much more than just saying you don't believe in a rapture of living saints.

To deny both is just heresy. It is denying fundamental doctrines of evangelical Christianity that almost every Christian believes.

Who are you listening to that would cause you to draw these conclusions? Did you just make it up? Are you confident with an interpretation that no one on the face of the earth agrees with?

Maybe you have made mistakes in how you understood what you were reading?

I

am not sure just what you are trying to say. Mary was not able to touch Jesus because He had not yet returned to the Father But Iam not sure about the first fruits and all that, I do no there is no rapture. Jesus returns at the 7th trump. He does not sneak in in the middle of

the night and take away anybody.

T
Well you better tell him about that before he makes his first mistake 😄😄

@pottersclay 1) I asked you how you would explain them touching Jesus in Matt 28? Since we know it is the same event because both Matt 28 and John 20 included the instructions from Jesus to go and tell his disciples to meet him in Galilee.

2) No one has ever considered "the ascension of Jesus Christ" and his being taken up before them as contradictory wording. This is not a thing in theology.

3) I am not trying to argue or make anyone look bad. I am just discussing this theory with you because I find it to be an interesting discussion and an opportunity to examine scriptures to identify what was intended. So I remain humble and am interested in other peoples reasons for their interpretations.

4) I have not understood your theory about offerings yet. Maybe you could present them using the scriptures that you think are teaching this view that most readers should be able to understand. Surely if it is what the Bible wanted us to understand you would be able to use the Bible to show us where it says Jesus did all this between Mary and Thomas.

5) It hardly seems necessary to attempt to explain a trip to the Father between Mary and Thomas based on an interpretation that Mary was not allowed to touch him but Thomas was, IF Mary did indeed touch Him as Matt 28 plainly tells us that she did and John 20 should be understood as "stop clinging to me" which she literally was doing and touching him was going on. The theory that no one could touch him before he went to the Father before Thomas would no longer be tenable if indeed they had touched Him would it?
Everything that jesus done and is going to do is in Gods time frame.
According to Gods feast and appointed times. Its not radom at all it has a order.

To ascend would be under ones own power... to be taken up would suggest by another power.

Jesus tells mary that he has not ascended yet. The book of acts says he was taken up.

contrary to populary belief the new testament is very jewish.

So Paul was preaching heresy. Good to know.
1st Corinthians 15.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Also, we know Jesus wasn't in his same body after resurrection.
Because after Mary arrived at his tomb ready to finish preparing it for its rest after Sabbath she found it empty.

The man she saw moments later, the arisen Jesus, was not recognized by her. She thought him the gardner.
If Jesus looked the same this would not happen. John 20
Psychologially that is easy to understand. She did not expect an resurrected body, Assumed Jesus is still dead, She was in tears, She was not looking at him. But, she did recognize his voice.

John 20

Easy-to-Read Version

News That Jesus Has Risen From Death
20 Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb. She saw that the large stone was moved away from the entrance. 2 So she ran to Simon Peter and the other follower (the one Jesus loved very much). She said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they put him.”
3 So Peter and the other follower started going to the tomb. 4 They were both running, but the other follower ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He bent down and looked in. He saw the pieces of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in.
6 Then Simon Peter finally reached the tomb and went in. He saw the pieces of linen lying there. 7 He also saw the cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. It was folded up and laid in a different place from the pieces of linen. 8 Then the other follower went in—the one who had reached the tomb first. He saw what had happened and believed. 9 (These followers did not yet understand from the Scriptures that Jesus must rise from death.)
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
10 Then the followers went back home. 11 But Mary stood outside the tomb, crying. While she was crying, she bent down and looked inside the tomb. 12 She saw two angels dressed in white sitting where Jesus’ body had been. One was sitting where the head had been; the other was sitting where the feet had been.
13 The angels asked Mary, “Woman, why are you crying?”
Mary answered, “They took away the body of my Lord, and I don’t know where they put him.” 14 When Mary said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there. But she did not know that it was Jesus.
15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?”
She thought he was the man in charge of the garden. So she said to him, “Did you take him away, sir? Tell me where you put him. I will go and get him.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him and said in Aramaic, “Rabboni,” which means “Teacher.”

17 Jesus said to her, “You don’t need to hold on to me! I have not yet gone back up to the Father. But go to my followers[a] and tell them this: ‘I am going back to my Father and your Father. I am going back to my God and your God.’”
18 Mary Magdalene went to the followers and told them, “I saw the Lord!” And she told them what he had said to her.
Jesus Appears to His Followers
19 The day was Sunday, and that same evening the followers were together. They had the doors locked because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them. He said, “Peace be with you!” 20 As soon as he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. When the followers saw the Lord, they were very happy.
21 Then Jesus said again, “Peace be with you. It was the Father who sent me, and I am now sending you in the same way.” 22 Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of anyone, their sins are forgiven. If there is anyone whose sins you don’t forgive, their sins are not forgiven.”
Jesus Appears to Thomas
24 Thomas (called Didymus) was one of the twelve, but he was not with the other followers when Jesus came. 25 They told him, “We saw the Lord.” Thomas said, “That’s hard to believe. I will have to see the nail holes in his hands, put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side. Only then will I believe it.”
26 A week later the followers were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here. Look at my hands. Put your hand here in my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to Jesus, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “You believe because you see me. Great blessings belong to the people who believe without seeing me!”
Why John Wrote This Book
30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs that his followers saw, which are not written in this book. 31 But these are written so that you can believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. Then, by believing, you can have life through his name.

Yes new bodies new spiritual bodies. Everyone "As pastor would say the good, the bad, and the ugly" that has not died will be changed in a moment in the twinkle of an eye at the last trump "the 7th" into a spiritual body "the same type body every one that has died from the creation of man on the 6th day. The only difference is weather you have a mortal "liable to die" or immortal "will live for ever" soul; Flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God.
There is one thing that is for sure both cannot be right, or true as for me I am going to hitch my wagon to what God says in His word
Christ Resurrected
Early Sunday morning (April 9) to Mary Magdalene near the sepulchre at Jerusalem (Mark 16:9, John 20:11-18)
To the women returning from the sepulchre (Matthew 28:9-10)
To Peter (Cephas) near Jerusalem later that day (Luke 24:34, 1Corinthians 15:5)
To two disciples going to Emmaus that day (Mark 16:12, Luke 24:13-31)
That evening at Jerusalem to the apostles except Thomas (Mark 16:14, John 20:19-25)
Sunday evening (April 16) at Jerusalem to all the apostles especially Thomas (John 20:26-29)
End of April to seven disciples fishing on Sea of Galilee (John 21:1-13)
To eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee (Matthew 28:16-18)
Over 500 disciples at once --location uncertain (1Corinthians 15:6)
To James --location uncertain (1Corinthians 15:7)
To the apostles (and probably others) during forty days prior to his ascension (Acts 1:2-3)
At the Mount of Olives near Bethany at his ascension (Luke 24:50-51, Acts 1:6-12)
After his ascension, to Stephen the martyr (Acts 7:55-56)
To Saul on road to Damascus (Acts 9:3-6, 1Corinthians 15:8-9)
To John on the island of Patmos (Revelation 1:9-19)

From your perspective I would use I Cor 15:44 The body that is “planted” is a physical body. When it is raised, it will be a spiritual body.

Maybe the sun was in her eyes.
No seriously, there are several examples that suggest that he might have looked different at first. The two on the way to Emmaus who did not recognize him until he opened there eyes.
Luke 24
On The Road to Emmaus
13 That same day two of Jesus’ followers were going to a town named Emmaus. It is about seven miles[b] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking about everything that had happened. 15 While they were talking, discussing these things, Jesus himself came near and walked with them. 16 (But the two men were not allowed to recognize Jesus.) 17 He asked them, “What’s this I hear you discussing with each other as you walk?”

The two men stopped, their faces looking very sad. 18 The one named Cleopas said, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who doesn’t know what has just happened there.”

19 Jesus said, “What are you talking about?”

They said, “It’s about Jesus, the one from Nazareth. To God and to all the people he was a great prophet. He said and did many powerful things. 20 But our leaders and the leading priests handed him over to be judged and killed. They nailed him to a cross. 21 We were hoping that he would be the one to free Israel. But then all this happened.

“And now something else: It has been three days since he was killed, 22 but today some of our women told us an amazing thing. Early this morning they went to the tomb where the body of Jesus was laid. 23 But they did not find his body there. They came and told us they had seen some angels in a vision. The angels told them Jesus was alive! 24 So some of our group went to the tomb too. It was just as the women said. They saw the tomb, but they did not see Jesus.”

25 Then Jesus said to the two men, “You are foolish and slow to realize what is true. You should believe everything the prophets said. 26 The prophets said the Messiah must suffer these things before he begins his time of glory.” 27 Then he began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures. He started with the books of Moses and then he talked about what the prophets had said about him.

28 They came near the town of Emmaus, and Jesus acted as if he did not plan to stop there. 29 But they wanted him to stay. They begged him, “Stay with us. It’s almost night. There’s hardly any daylight left.” So he went in to stay with them.

30 Joining them at the supper table, Jesus took some bread and gave thanks. Then he broke some off and gave it to them. 31 Just then the men were allowed to recognize him. But when they saw who he was, he disappeared. 32 They said to each other, “When he talked to us on the road, it felt like a fire burning in us. How exciting it was when he explained to us the true meaning of the Scriptures!”

33 So the two men got up then and went back to Jerusalem. There they found the followers of Jesus meeting together. The eleven apostles and the people with them 34 said, “The Lord really has risen from death! He appeared to Simon.”

35 Then the two men told what had happened on the road. They talked about how they recognized Jesus when he shared the bread with them.

The not recognizing Jesus has a simple explanation. Let's say a loved one dies and is burried. Would you expect to see them again in this life? If they appeared to you while you were still in greif that would hinder you from recognizing them too., In some cases it is possible Jesus kept them supernationally from recognizing him.

I have no idea what you said. The believers who are living a life ready for His coming will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and their current mortal flesh will be transfigured and become an immortal glorified body.

The Last Trump in this text is not the 7th trumpet in the book of Revelation. John had not seen his vision or written the book of Revelation yet. When Paul wrote this it is IMPOSSIBLE that Paul had in mind the 7th trumpet in the book of Revelation.

It violates the rules of hermeneutics to say that was the authors intended meaning.

One must look elsewhere for his intended meaning. Logic suggests that Paul was talking about prophetic references to trumpet heralding announcements in prophesy concerning the Eschaton. Paul would be thinking of OT scriptures. We should look there.
1 Corinthians 15:52
New International Version
in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

David Tree It was not a gardener it was Jesus and she could not touch Him for He had not yet returned to the father. Do you know here Jesus was for those 3 days and 3 nights? Let me know
I already proven that poor interpretation wrong. I posted a well known Greek Scholar and other translations that shows that She was holding onto him. And, Scholars Bible Commentaries. Maybe a Church Father or two. It is known that the Early Church Fathers were taught by the Apostles themselves. Also, he ate fish. We know that 500 people saw him at one time.

Firstfruit has nothing to do with blood.
Does not scriptre tell us that jesus is first fruits? This has to do with the harvest.
Jesus is the high priest and acts accordingly so. Jesus being high priest offered himself as a offering. But he still holds the office of the high priest and full fills this office. Is there not one mediator between man and God the Lord Christ Jesus.
That is the office of the high priest.
The story goes do not touch for i have not gone to the father yet. But soon after thomas is permitted to examine him. Why?
Colossians 1
Easy-to-Read Version
1 Greetings from Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus. I am an apostle because that is what God wanted. Greetings also from Timothy, our brother in Christ.

2 To the holy and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ who live in Colossae.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father.

3 In our prayers we always thank God for you. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 We thank him because we have heard about the faith you have in Christ Jesus and the love you have for all of God’s people. 5 Your faith and love continue because you know what is waiting for you in heaven—the hope you have had since you first heard the true message, the Good News 6 that was told to you. Throughout the world, this Good News is bringing blessings and is spreading. And that’s what has been happening among you since the first time you heard it and understood the truth about God’s grace. 7 You heard it from Epaphras, our dear friend and co-worker. He is a faithful servant of Christ for us.[a] 8 He also told us about the love you have from the Spirit.

9 Since the day we heard these things about you, we have continued praying for you. This is what we pray:

that God will make you completely sure of what he wants by giving you all the wisdom and spiritual understanding you need; 10 that this will help you live in a way that brings honor to the Lord and pleases him in every way; that your life will produce good works of every kind and that you will grow in your knowledge of God; 11 that God will strengthen you with his own great power, so that you will be patient and not give up when troubles come.

Then you will be happy 12 and give thanks to the Father. He has made you able to have what he has promised to give all his holy people, who live in the light. 13 God made us free from the power of darkness. And he brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son. 14 The Son paid the price to make us free. In him we have forgiveness of our sins.

The Son of God Is the Same as God
15 No one can see God,
but the Son is exactly like God.
He rules over everything that has been made.[c]
16 Through his power all things were made:

things in heaven and on earth, seen and not seen—
all spiritual rulers, lords, powers, and authorities.
Everything was made through him and for him.

17 The Son was there before anything was made.
And all things continue because of him.
18 He is the head of the body, which is the church.
He is the beginning of everything else.
And he is the first among all who will be raised from death.[d]
So in everything he is most important.

19 God was pleased for all of himself to live in the Son.
20 And through him, God was happy to bring all things back to himself again—
things on earth and things in heaven.
God made peace by using the blood sacrifice of his Son on the cross.

21 At one time you were separated from God. You were his enemies in your minds, because the evil you did was against him. 22 But now he has made you his friends again. He did this by the death Christ suffered while he was in his body. He did it so that he could present you to himself as people who are holy, blameless, and without anything that would make you guilty before him. 23 And that is what will happen if you continue to believe in the Good News you heard. You must remain strong and sure in your faith. You must not let anything cause you to give up the hope that became yours when you heard the Good News. That same Good News has been told to everyone on earth, and that’s the work that I, Paul, was given to do.

Paul’s Work for the Church
24 I am happy in my sufferings for you. There is much that Christ must still suffer. And I gladly accept my part of those sufferings in my body for the good of his body, the church. 25 I became a servant of the church because God gave me a special work to do. This work helps you. My work is to tell the complete message of God. 26 This message is the secret truth that was hidden since the beginning of time. It was hidden from everyone for ages, but now it has been made known to God’s holy people. 27 God decided to let his people know just how rich and glorious that truth is. That secret truth, which is for all people, is that Christ lives in you, his people. He is our hope for glory. 28 So we continue to tell people about Christ. We use all wisdom to counsel every person and teach every person. We are trying to bring everyone before God as people who have grown to be spiritually mature in Christ. 29 To do this, I work and struggle using the great strength that Christ gives me. That strength is working in my life.

Colossians 1
Amplified Bible
Thankfulness for Spiritual Attainments
1 Paul, an apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed) by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

2 To the [a]saints and faithful believers in Christ [who are] at Colossae: Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father.

3 We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we pray always for you, 4 for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [how you lean on Him with absolute confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness], and of the [unselfish] [c]love which you have for all the saints (God’s people); 5 because of the [confident] hope [of experiencing that] which is reserved and waiting for you in heaven. You previously heard of this hope in the message of truth, the gospel [regarding salvation] 6 which has come to you. Indeed, just as in the whole world the gospel is constantly bearing fruit and spreading [by God’s power], just as it has been doing among you ever since the day you first heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth [becoming thoroughly and deeply acquainted with it]. 7 You learned it from [our representative] Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf 8 and he also has told us of your love [well-grounded and nurtured] in the [Holy] Spirit.

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; 11 [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light.

The Incomparable Christ
13 For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption [because of His sacrifice, resulting in] the forgiveness of our sins [and the cancellation of sins’ penalty].

15 He is the exact living image [the essential manifestation] of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible], the firstborn [the preeminent one, the sovereign, and the originator] of all creation. 16 For [d]by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him. 17 And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.] 18 He is also the head [the life-source and leader] of the body, the [e]church; and He is the beginning, [f]the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will occupy the first place [He will stand supreme and be preeminent] in everything. 19 For it pleased the Father for all the fullness [of deity—the sum total of His essence, all His perfection, powers, and attributes] to dwell [permanently] in Him (the Son), 20 and through [the intervention of] the Son to reconcile all things to Himself, making peace [with believers] through the blood of His cross; through Him, [I say,] whether things on earth or things in heaven.

21 And although you were at one time estranged and alienated and hostile-minded [toward Him], participating in evil things, 22 yet Christ has now reconciled you [to God] in His [g]physical body through death, in order to present you before the Father holy and blameless and beyond reproach— 23 [and He will do this] if you continue in the faith, well-grounded and steadfast, and not shifting away from the [confident] hope [that is a result] of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed [h]in all creation under heaven, and of which [gospel] I, Paul, was made a minister.

24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf. And with my own body I supplement whatever is lacking [on our part] of Christ’s afflictions, on behalf of His body, which is the church. 25 In this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship which God entrusted to me for your sake, so that I might make the word of God fully known [among you]— 26 that is, [j]the mystery which was hidden [from angels and mankind] for ages and generations, but has now been revealed to His saints (God’s people). 27 God [in His eternal plan] chose to make known to them how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in and among you, the hope and guarantee of [realizing the] glory. 28 We proclaim Him, warning and instructing everyone in all wisdom [that is, with comprehensive insight into the word and purposes of God], so that we may present every person complete in Christ [mature, fully trained, and perfect in Him—the Anointed]. 29 For this I labor [often to the point of exhaustion], striving with His power and energy, which so greatly works within me.

Let's cut to the chase there is no rapture no matter how you cut it. That is a lie straight from the depths of hell that came from a young woman in the early 1800's that was ill and she herself said the dream seamed evil.

I missed something, where was the word prevent used related to Jesus?

Neither gospel showed that. In fact, John only had one Mary going to the tomb,
and in Matthew's account, Jesus sent both Mary's away at the same time.
Dear Lady, It is the Greek and many translations that show Jesus told her to stop holding unto him. The Greek grammar as I have shown she was clining onto him.
