That’s what we’re taking about. The control you do have to make your own decisions about who you are, what you believe and what you do about it. Those are choices. That’s free will. You’re getting into things about bodily human limitations. Yes God limits us but He gives us a choice about whether we want to accept Him, love Him and build a relationship with Him. We don’t just automatically do that, we make a choice. You can ask God for desire or to take away desires. You can ask God for help with your decisions but no He does not make them for you. We define that as free will.

Many things we do daily are against our will. I do not will myself to smell, for example, yet I do. I do not have control over whether I find a smell pleasant (the smells of an Italian restaurant) or unpleasant (the smell of the contents of a rubbish bin/garbage can). That is just one example. Most of our thoughts and actions are completely involuntary.
We’re talking about choices in the sense that it requires thought and conscious, not automatic brain processes. I mean are you really upset that your lungs breathe on their own? LOL

One does not get to decide who one is...unless you subscribe to the belief that, for example we can 'choose' our race and gender, for example?

The mind and body are inextricably linked. Fear is a sensation as much in the mind as in the body. Can we choose as to whether or not we feel fear? Love? Hate? Anger? Hunger?

No, I'm not 'upset' about that. The fact that they do so without any conscious effort on my part is evidence in contradiction to my having free will.

I thought we were discussing free will. Not 'choices in the sense that it requires thought and conscious'.

You just have a different definition of what free will is; you take the term rather literal than most. Like we’re not even really disagreeing, yeah free will doesn’t include that your nose and lungs work but like you said you agree you have some control over your actions so how do you believe sin is not a human choice. You also keep failing to show what scripture in the Bible says that God created sin and humans. Genesis thoroughly explains that we made sin and it was our choice because God originally made us like Him and he knows no sin. What scripture proves your point?

If your own mind or body does something that you did not will it do to do, you don't have free will.

Where does Genesis say 'we' 'made sin'?

When Adam and Eve had the choice to listen to God and chose not to. Where does it say in the Bible that he created sin? Sin has to function through humans. God cannot sin so he cannot create it. It is not in His nature. But as Genesis says, God made us in His likeness and we have the ability to create. We are not perfect like He is so we had the capability to create sin. God does not have this capability and it says so all over the scripture. We can create. God made it so we all needed to be born of another person. God also made it so that we have a choice to create good or bad things. Creating bad things is sin. We created the desire to do things that God does not like. God gave us a choice but he did not create our choices.

Really? If only I could choose not to listen. I live in a rather noisy neighbourhood and it would save my buying noise-cancelling headphones if I could simply 'choose' not to listen to my immediate environment.

'God cannot sin so he cannot create it'. I will report you since you deny God's omnipotence.

Of course God is omnipotent. You have a bad habit of taking things literally. I clearly mean cannot because He is perfect and only creates perfect things, he could choose to make evil things but then he would break His promise about who He is and God does not break promises. Like cannot means “I cannot do that because that’s not who I am” like it’s obviously a choice. Not cannot as in literal ableness. You still haven’t provided scripture about what you’re saying. Where in the Bible from which are you getting your knowledge? If you’re not able to find what you’re saying in scripture, then this conversation has no point because you’re source of knowledge is faulty. Plenty of people in this discussion have made arguments based on biblical text. You seem to be getting knowledge from yourself or elsewhere, as you repeatedly dodge the question you’ve been asked multiple times by myself and a couple others. Where is the scripture? What book and what verse are you pulling your knowlege?

I appreciate English may not be your first language and such you are not fully literate. Would you awfully mind rephrasing that sentence that I might better understand it? Thank you.

God is omnipotent. Therefore he can sin and can create sin.

I have reported you for denying this.

Do you believe man is perfect?

Colossians 1:6: "For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him."

Are you sure? Apparently one has free will to hear whatever they wish, so what you said is not strictly true.
they dont hear then .and have ears , eyes and cant see because of a hardened heart
