I would agree if he better qualified it by saying some because I've seen anh heard it myself in fact pastor have shot them selves in the foot so to speak my making such predictions. Hal Lindsey. Chuck Smith etc. When I hear such talk they lose credibility in my opinion so I just tune them out. Just stating a year disqualifies them to me.

No, God saved him with a presentation of the gospel. Anyone hearing the gospel, can truly be saved!

As I said, all Christian books should present the gospel, regardless of the content of the rest of the book!

But it really, really messed him up for end times understanding. By that I mean, he is still caught back in those false prophecies. But fortunately, our eschatology does not determine our salvation! We are saved by grace through faith, not our opinions concerning end times.

@oldethennew It dosn't matter if the messenger is ligate or not if the are using the word of the Lord, the Lord can shine through the word. Evangelist's don't save any body and faith healers don't heal any body all credit, glory and honor goes to the Lord.

Hal Lindsey is just one in a long line of people peddling his kind of teaching about the last days going back to the 19th Century. Every
generation since then has had their own ''Hal Lindsey'' to scratch their itching ears. The most recent being Le Haye

I remember when I was first looking for answers about What, where, or who God was. There was a Christian farm commune east of San Diego that sponsored a free movies on Sunday evenings. They had an old school bus they used to cruise skid row with and pick people up with and take to eat a Sunday feast and see the movies. The movies they showed were named "A thief in the night" and "A Distant Thunder." both very similar to "Left Behind."

The pitch after the movie was an alter call followed by an invitation to separate ourselves from society and join the commune. It pulled my heart strings but I sensed something was just not right, so I passed. Later I learned they were a cult.

People did get saved but the ulterior motive was to get us to go on welfare and give them the money. The word of the Lord did not come back void in spite of the motivations of the Cult leaders.

Back in the 70s when I was first saved I almost joined the Children of God cult. They had a commune in Bromley which is a
suburb of London. There I met a Daughter of David 'Moses' Berg the false prophet. I was impressed by their apparent dedication
and the friendly way they treated visitors like myself. The thought of leaving my family friends and everything behind me prevented me from taking the step of joining them. I think God also stepped in to save me from a disastrous situation. Unlike yourself I had little discernment at that time that something was wrong with them. It was only later that I realised how bad they really were.

AMEN....what is tragic........for every 1 prophecy concerning the 1st coming of Christ there are 8 that deal with his 2nd coming..............and yet the 1st coming is more understood than the 2nd............People like HAL and others have sowed ignorance concerning the Parousia of Christ and it has taken hold like weeds in a garden that never gets weeded............

Twisted context, denial of the verbiage, inspired words, who the saints and elect are, a denial of when the wrath of God is announced in heaven before the throne, the Grandsville Sharp used in 2nd Thessalonians, a denial of the word KEPT and what it means etc........HAVE all led to a predominant teaching that is not only false, but which has also permeated most so called Christian and Christian churches........

I met a lovely, kind, gentle, sweet young lady at a bible study in Vegas. She knew the word impressively well. Unfortunately she had been a member of the CoG since childhood. When I asked her about her life she shamelessly stated "I'm a whore for the Lord." She used to turn tricks and share the proceeds with homeless people along with buying bible tracts to hand out.

if you all think we are mistaken, then please enlighten us with some scripture.

of course we are glad when Christ's Name is proclaimed, but, we are not pleased
when it is proclaimed by the Jim Bakers-Jim Swaggart-Ernest Angely-Oral Roberts-Benny-Joel-Joseph, ETC.

there is absolutely 'NO WAY' that God works through iniquity...
remember, even the 'devils' know the scriptures...

It doesn't matter on some levels, but it certainly matters on other levels or it wouldn't have screwed him up, or messed him up if you prefer!?

Hal Lindsey is the modern era father of the greatest lie ever perpetrated against the church, within it's own Walls! This in turn birthed the left behind crap that went from teaching this garbage from the church to the world. So it does matter, one great lie leads to another!

He comes through via the word of God in spite of corruptible flesh. Individuals like you mentioned have no power and can't save or heal anyone, we know that but his word can. That's why I asked @Magenta to make the panel/ poster below not just to look at but to read.

Yes many do but the word still has more power. Have you listened to the lyrics of stairway to heaven? They are a clear warning that trying to buy a persons way to heaven is the road to hell. And Led Zeppelin were far from Christian.

I dosn't take a spirit filled evangelist to pray for someone for them to be saved. If they come to believe in their hearts and confess with their mouths that Jesus is lord they will be saved..
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
