This one escaped me but I can remember The Total Woman at that time. A lot of weird thoughts came from out of that one. lol

Anyone who survived those days...lol has to admit they were exciting. We had bumper stickers that said honk if you love Jesus and in case of rapture, this car will destruct.

I was in awe and in fear both. lol
sounds fun

do you believe we are now in a more or less exciting era? sometimes i think back on how life was back then. i wasnt born yet in the 70s. but from how people speak of it, i believe it was a simpler time and a happier time.

i wonder if there are any happiness polls and statistics from that time, i have to look it up

"The Late Great Planet Earth" had a profound impact upon my life. Soon after reading that, I bought everything I could on The Rapture and the Book of Revelation. And if anyone remembers, including this:

I loved Spire Christian Comics!

I think it was a Christ centered anomaly. I believe there has been a sharp decline in the faith of the majority in this Nation since those days.

Innocence in the movement but free "love' was beginning.

Actually, I think this time is more serious about what is believed and the younger generation is single minded. At least those I am in contact with.

I support a young couple, and the young man is a true prophet. Charlie Shamp. Destiny Encounters. His wife Brynn is a great teacher.

i can only agree based on what i see from the outside of america looking in. if i compare the tv shows of yesterday to ones of today. i know tv shows have nothing to do with christianity, but what i mean is you can see even regular people had a sense of morality

I found it was from Southern California. The public just called us 'Jesus Freaks.'
Oh. That I did hear of. :) Was labeled that too. And we wore it as a badge of spiritual pride...the good kind.

No, it was the other way around. We gave up the hippie mantras and came to the Lord. Of course free sex has always been around. Remember Soddom and Gomorrah?
Judges 19: 24 "Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But as for this man, don't do such an outrageous thing." 25But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go."
She was gang raped to death,

They filled the seats and it was justified by the established corporate folks because people did come to the Lord. Pastor Ralph Wilkerson, himself a faith healer, told people to keep taking their meds and go to their doctors. Maybe the doctors would get saved in the process. I think Ralph was real.

The 1970s was the Decade that changed my life. In 1971 I found the Lord, and a whole new circle of friends. I met my wife in 1973 In 1974 I started started working for the British Council and stayed there for almost 20 years. In 1975 I got married the day after my 28th
birthday! The only sad moment was the loss of my Father in 1978 who passed away age 70. The Lord really blessed me!

In the 19th Century one commentator on Revelation was convinced that the way the American Cavalry rode their horses was similar to the description of the 200,000,000 horsemen I'm sure many who read this then were very interested by this 'insight' I cant remember the name of the writer now but it may as well have been Lindsey.
In the modern militaries of today China currently fields an army of 200,000,000. Not sure why anyone would mistake the 19th century American cavalry for this army as I doubt that this unit even had 20,000 troops let alone 200,000,000.

take this as you all will, but we don't believe that God uses 'false-prophets' to 'save people' -
if you all think we are mistaken, then please enlighten us with some scripture.

of course we are glad when Christ's Name is proclaimed, but, we are not pleased
when it is proclaimed by the Jim Bakers-Jim Swaggart-Ernest Angely-Oral Roberts-Benny-Joel-Joseph, ETC.

there is absolutely 'NO WAY' that God works through iniquity...
remember, even the 'devils' know the scriptures...

Just a though to ponder...Paul referenced those who were preaching out of pretense in hopes to make his bonds more severe.....I.E. people that were not saved, spreading the word in hopes of making Paul's imprisonment more severe.....

HE said he did not care because the gospel was being preached....the power is in the message and not the messenger.....if it is truthful and accurately proclaimed it has power to save......

I fully agree with your view on all the deceptive, false crap they peddle...........100%

Yeah, so what? The Strategic Air Commands' official moto was 'Victory through superior technology', but what we really said was "Nuke' em till they glow."

We didn't believe in fighting with fists, knives or guns. Just 'kill 'em all, let God sort them out.' It made sense to me. Like throwing a Molotov cocktail through someone's window at night and shooting every one trying to escape... Until I got saved!

Does anyone REALLY think we are going to go fist-a-cuffs with China? That's why we have a target on our backs. The Federal Reserve Bank is in debt up to the ears with China. They are not going to take a muli TRILLION DOLLAR renig like a family member that's a little short on rent.

Wake up. We are in debt to the enemy! Shilock will seek his pound of flesh.

I'm sorry friends. I just left the room and realized this has gone far astray from Hal Lindsey. I you want to continue this way, I think we should move to the BDF or Conspiracy forums.

Nighty night.

All we should do is start a new thread name and just continue. It's easy. We're not talking about Hal any more. Ive seen the mods step in before when the topic strayed like this. No biggie, I don't want to stop, I pay for this privilege.

You do understand that I was responding to someone that said China had a standing army of 200,000,000 right? AND was in no way, shape or form indicating ANYTHING other than the fact that they do not have a standing army of 200 million.....so.....WHY the ZZZZZ and negative mouthy remarks??????

And the wake up comment was stupid and uncalled for.....I am fully awake and AWARE of what is happening and how in debt we are to China.....
