I dosn't take a spirit filled evangelist to pray for someone for them to be saved. If they come to believe in their hearts and confess with their mouths that Jesus is lord they will be saved..
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

I went in search for love.......I could not find it on the Earth and nor was it in the heart of any man......

I turned my focus toward God and found incredible love.....

Love is why I am a Christian...... I shall always cling to Christ- my Beloved - the only one that truly knows me and loves me.

Ummmm.... question, why are we Christians?
Because we believe tha Jesus of Nazareth was born of the flesh without sin, walked the earth, healed the sick, raised the dead, preached love and forgiveness.

Because he was executed for our sins and for telling the truth on the cross and stabbed through the side until water gushed proving he was dead. Because he rose again after 3 days of being sealed in a Guarded, tomb proving victory over death. Because he is IS the son of the one and only true God. Because he is comming back for us because he loves us and because he can. And because he's alive!

Does that answer your question?

I hate this world and what "man" has made of it. I despise being "IN" this world but love that I am no longer "OF" it. I pray the Lord's prayer every night because I like to believe that I am blessed with a spirit of discernment and understand why Christ taught us to pray that way. I know that God's promise is all that's left to look foreward to in this life... and the best that I can look foreward to in this life. I came here seeking fellowship and kindred spirits but so far all I have found here is a blinding, hypercritical spirit of self edification.... unless you like video games, lol. Milk or meat my friends? I know feel as if I have been placed into a corner where all I can do is ask questions and watch you judge yourselves....

I worked a couple of years at a television ministry and walked away from it. After a while I started seeing that televangelism was in a large part show business. I never lost my faith in the Lord but I sharpened my sword constantly. I got away from Hollywood style Christianity and I'd rather work at a rehab center or a rescue mission than a big, flashy, ostentatious building called a church that is really a theater. I prefer Friends or Mennonite humility than the proud arrogance of many ginormous venues that never stop building because the more the spend the more the can skim and keep their non profit status. That's why they often implode. They get too big to manage and lose their compass.

Don't put your faith in leaders with feet of clay, put them to the test of the word of God. Jesus is the only leader that's absolutely trustworthy. The Holy Spirit should give you joy. If not your doing something wrong. Take joy in tribulation because it teaches patience. Patience teaches faith and faith casts out fears. Now THAT'S GOSPEL. Don't take my word for it. Look it up for yourself. Seek and you shall find.

If you are a Christian, you are not a citizen of this world trying to get to heaven; you are a citizen of heaven making your way through this world. ~ Dr. Vance Havner, Preacher

I have read many of his books but not in the last 15 years or so. I found his insight on end-time events to be fascinating. The first book I read of Hal Lindsey was The Late Great Planet Earth. It was a worthwhile read.

A lot of people mistook him as a prophet and when is predictions failed called him an antichrist.

Melodyland was a freak occurrence. A theater/concert venue was built. It was round and looked like a circus tent, with a revolving stage and 3000 seats. Unfortunately for the investors stadium concerts became the rage. It became a white elephant. Some Pentecostals' came along and realized it would make a terrific place for old fashioned tent revivals type services. It had theater lights, a primitive holographic system. A sound and camera booth etc. It temporarily became a home for Trinity Broadcasting Network. It was really a blessing to be there. We had miracle services, Christian concerts, TV broadcasts several times a week. Etc. That's where the Hotline Help Center was. Hal was a regular. That's harbor Blvd on top and Disneyland was across the street.

He certainly never claimed to be a prophet but his views on end-time events based on scripture were very interesting, not really far-fetched, and worth considering as part of one's own individual study of scripture, especially pertaining to end-times.

That's why I said people mistook him. They put faith in his predictions and when his timeline failed a lot of his followers fell away. I was sad really.

Of course the name it and claim it and prosperity preachers were awaiting the lime light. Stuff like if you send in or give $10 you'll receive $100 from the lord and if you give $100 you can expect to get back $1000 nonsence. They tried to turn the gospel into a book of incantations. They got rich.

They filled the seats and it was justified by the established corporate folks because people did come to the Lord. Pastor Ralph Wilkerson, himself a faith healer, told people to keep taking their meds and go to their doctors. Maybe the doctors would get saved in the process. I think Ralph was real.

In the 19th Century one commentator on Revelation was convinced that the way the American Cavalry rode their horses was similar to the description of the 200,000,000 horsemen I'm sure many who read this then were very interested by this 'insight' I cant remember the name of the writer now but it may as well have been Lindsey.

Anyone who survived those days...lol has to admit they were exciting. We had bumper stickers that said honk if you love Jesus and in case of rapture, this car will destruct.

I was in awe and in fear both. lol
