I am using a Samsung android tablet with the Chrome browser. Going to the mnmasons site it gets an allergic reaction warning me it is a bad site that might allow infections and illegal monitoring to get credit information. Therefore I suggest you avoid that site. You might want to virus scan your computer. I hope you already have good Malware protection. If not you probably are infected. I have over 40 years working for a company and spent the last 31 years in customer support. I became a computer hardware and software guru along with 2 other employees. I traveled the country and world installing, teaching, and repairing the systems my telemetry company sold. That included all equipment including the computers.

So when I give you warning about computer infections you should take note.

Did I say you did? I said 'I' didn't what are you getting so upset about nobody's pointing at finger at you. He was a clever leader. I don't care if he was a catholic, an atheist or a Buddhist, that wouldn't make him all bad. And so what about the Presbyterian church too? Are they better than the Baptists', Lutherans' or Pentecostals'?
Side stepping the issue with the fallacious red herring attack. I talked about the character of George Washington and you bring in non Christian religions and say it didn't make a difference. You do this on a Christian site. Are you a wolf in sheep's clothing? That is what I get from your sequence of posts here. Why are you on a Christian web site?

The early elders created the creeds. Do you adhere to them?

The religious views of George Washington have long been debated. While some of the Founding Fathers, such as Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and Patrick Henry were noted for writing about religion, Washington rarely discussed his religious and philosophical views. His personal letters and public speeches sometimes referred to "Providence."

Who said you said anyone should worship him???? Nobody.
He was very private about religion. Information about his religious views come from family and close friends.

As I just posted his family and close friends tell about his Christian views. That is how they were made public. Calibob seems to want to nitpick when he ranted about was Presbyterian any better than Baptists etc. Back then all denominations were preaching the gospel message. Not like today with all major denominations served by secular ministers. Go to a Presbyterian USA church and see if you hear anything about Jesus. In Washington's time all denominations preached the gospel message so him being a Presbyterian meant he adhered to the gospel message!!

People and religious organizations have take worship of the Lord and turned it into worship of traditions, organizations and rules. I take no oaths and abide by no laws that weren't written in the new testament. Not by the council of Nicaea, the Pope, Luther , Calvin, Westley. (I do like General Booth of the Salvation Army) The Ecumenical Council, The Vatican, Billy Graham or any other person or thing not written since Amen from Revelations. Christian is not my political party. I very strongly resent the idea that it should be. I'm a former bleeding heart Social Worker type recovery worker. I'm am Christian. Salvation and helping others is most important to me.

Why are you on a Christian site just causing dissension here? That seems to be your methodology!!
My methodology is that it is our job is to help others. Love the unlovely. Help others and worship only the Lord only..

You are right there Endo, it is too late. This country was founded on Christian principles for which God has bestowed many blessings on us. We were mostly Christian from the outset, but look where we are now. Both my books warn the USA of impending downfall, based on scripture.

It is not too late to have a kind of revival. Just like ancient Judah did when they opened the house of the Lord and found the book of the law. Josiah was read the book and he rent his clothes (Jewish trend for anger). He then sent to a prophetess (Huldah) to inquire of God. Her message:

2 Kings 22:16-20 "Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read: Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched. But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the LORD, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard; Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD. Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again."

God spared that king from witnessing the impending doom.
So can you expound on this...he rent his clothes (Jewish trend for anger). This is new to me. Thank you.

So you put words in someone's mouth while falsely accusing them of putting words in yours. And then call him a lair. You need to apologize.

Gee, I thought everyone knew that. I did a search on rent and clothes and I got 64 matches in 31 verses.
Here are the first ten:

Gen. 37:29 And Reuben returned unto the pit; and, behold, Joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes.
Gen. 37:34 And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.
Gen. 44:13 Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city.
Lev. 13:45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
Num. 14:6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:
Jos. 7:6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.
Jdg. 11:35 And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.
1Sa. 4:12 And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head.
2Sa. 1:2 It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.
2Sa. 1:11 Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:
2Sa. 13:31 Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.

I agree with nearly every word. But just allow me to interject. Greed, ego and power have always affected every national decision since at least the invention of the printing press and the manufacture of currency, deeds and other things that can be bartered as money. We went down the rabbit hole with the federal reserve bank and @Deade is certainly is correct a revival is most likely the only save this nation. Now for my 2c; Not by bickering and choosing political sides. The Devil, yes Satan would love nothing better than to have us choose sides against each other and do his work for him. "Choose ye today who ye shall serve. As for me and my house, we choose the Lord."

Hahaha @you thinking everyone knew that. Not me, I have still so much to learn. But thanks to you, I'll be able to chalk up another nugget of information. I appreciate your taking the time to do that search. Shame on me Deade, I should've done it. I find that peculiar, I think I need more hebrew understanding as to why that expression was used to express anger.

I get very tired of the nothing but the Bible or in your case the New Testament. I guess you ignore the Old Testament. With your dissertation I guess you don't belong to any church. All churches and denominations have a statement of doctrine explaining their views on a range of different views of issues in the Bible. Therefore you can't allow yourself to be under these doctrinal statements.

You like others pushing this idiocy never consider the historical use of the creeds. Before the printing press bibles were rare and very expensive. It took a scribe months to copy the Bible one letter at a time. They used a pointer on the original copy and copied that letter to the copy. When leaving the table for any reason they would leave that marker in the next letter to be copied. After it was copied there were a variety of tests that were done. 1 was counting to the middle letter and comparing the 2 documents. If any test didn't pass the copy was destroyed.

Therefore creeds and memorized scriptures were used to spread the gospel message. As I have asked repeatedly is there anything non Biblical in the creeds. No one has come up with anything. Especially since the creeds are what a person has to believe to be a Christian and anything contrary is heretical. Many gospel preaching denominations start their service with the congregation repeating the Apostles Creed.

The creeds have been perverted to a chant. People just repeat them often mindlessly. Do you have any clue how many prayers I've mindlessly recited in 11 years of Catechism and Catholic school before I learned how to pray to a God that hears me for real?
I don't discount the teachings, wisdom of the old testament but turn them over to the sermon on the mount. The law was our curse and Satan our accuser and Jesus paid our price in his blood. The law can still be a trap and lucifer is still our accuser DON'T GET IT TWISTED, It's not over.

Go take a long walk on a short pier. About all you are good for. We have the original texts of the creeds from various very old documents and fragments of documents close to the time they were written. It becomes very obvious you are ignorant about the massive amount of manuscripts and fragments from close to that era. I am talking about protestant churches that believe the Biblical document stating what a Christian must believe is important enough to be emphasized every Sunday morning service. Catechisms are totally different. The Presbyterian PCA church uses the Westminster Catechism as it's basic doctrinal statement. I defy you to point out anything not Biblical about the Apostles Creed or the Westminster Catechism. Have fun trying. Also you never stated where the Catholic Catechism is in error. You just love to rant your hatred of them.

I see the error after rereading it and think it is correct. I post and a bit later I see the error later. That is unfortunately the way my mind works. It is frustrating. At 74 my mind isn't as sharp as it used to be.

mindless chanting is older than Christianity and works well as a brainwashing technique. Prayer from the heart to God matters way more than tradition.

You seem to love the lies you tell. It isn't mindless chanting. The creeds are what a person must believe for salvation. That is why memorization is needed. Using that and selected verses a person can tell an unbeliever the gospel message. I guess you hate spreading the gospel message.
