The Secrets of Infallibility

“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: for so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ”—2Peter 1:10-11

The word translated as “fall” in the above opening text, is from the Greek word ‘ptaio’ meaning ‘to trip’. Which in other words means: to err, sin, fail or stumble concerning salvation. So the statement “ye shall never fall”, as used in our opening text means:

• You shall never fall into error, such as heresy and delusion.
  
  
• You shall never fall into sin, especially habitual sin.
  
  
• You shall never fail or stumble concerning your eternal salvation. Such as falling into apostasy and agnosticism.

These definitions are flawless, given the preceding statements and the immediate accompanying verse as stated in the opening text…

The preceding statement says: “Give diligence to make your calling and election sure”. Your calling and election here, refers to our calling and election of grace. Which in a phrase means, “Eternal Salvation”. The immediate following verse confirms this. It says, “For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ”—2Peter 1:11

Hence, the Apostle Peter—by the Spirit—reveals to us, that there are certain spiritual secrets or keys which if we diligently engage, can certainly make us infallible. These spiritual secrets make us infallible to spiritual errors. They make us infallible to sin—especially habitual sin. And most importantly, they make us infallible from our calling and election in Christ Jesus, which is or call to Eternal Salvation and Life.

So What Are These Infallibility Secrets?

“Simon Peter , a servant and an Apostle of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness CHARITY.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: for so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”—2Peter 1:1-11

From the above quoted scripture, the Apostle Peter by the Spirit, delivers Eight powerful spiritual secrets that guarantees our infallibility from our calling and election of Grace. So we are going to consider these secrets, so we can better understand them, and consequently be able to diligently walk in them, as the word of God admonishes us.

Here are these infallibility keys.

• Faith: First on the list of these infallibility keys is faith. Every born again child of God has same measure and spirit of faith, given to him or her, at salvation. And no believer has more quantity of faith than another. We all have the mountain moving faith (Romans 12:3; 2Corinthians 4:13). Then to live an infallible life, you must always engage your faith. You must walk by faith and not by sight concerning every area of life (1 Corinthians 5:7). The word of God says, the Just shall live by faith (Hebrews 10:38).
  
  
• Virtue: The word translated as virtue in the context of the second book of Peter as we quoted earlier, is from the Greek word, “arête” properly meaning, manliness or valor. In other words, excellence. That is, being extremely good or being the best in everything we do. You know, the Lord says we shall be the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). A very good scriptural example of virtuousness is the virtuous woman described in proverbs 31:10-29. So another great key of infallibility, according to scripture is excellence, through diligence, in everything we do. Including our service to God. To this end, the word of God tells us, whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with thy might (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
  
  
• Knowledge: Knowledge here refers to the revelational knowledge of God’s word as revealed by the Holy Ghost from scriptures. And it comes by consistent bible study, meditation and prayers. To walk in spiritual infallibility then, you must as a lifestyle, hunt for the revelational knowledge of God’s word. And as you receive these revelational knowledge, you must live them out to be infallible.
  
  
• Temperance: Another word for temperance is self-control or self-discipline. The word of God tells us we already have in us, the spirit of sound mind or self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). And the Apostle Peter also lists it here as one of the secrets of infallibility. Thus, to walk in infallibility, we must walk in self-control; which is another word for temperance, sound mind, self-discipline or sobriety. We must discipline ourselves in what we say, how we eat; sexually; in how we dress; and in every other things.
  
  
• Patience: Patience as used in the book of Peter we are expounding here is from the Greek word, “hypomone” meaning, cheerful or hopeful endurance or constancy. It is also translated as patience continuance. To be infallible in our calling and election in Christ Jesus, we must exercise patience in our walk with God. We are to hopefully endure whatever affliction or tribulation that comes our way without any iota of wavering even unto death. We must be patient in our profession and exercise of faith and love. Even when we don’t get the desired result the word of God promises. We must not for any reason cast away our confidence and draw back unto perdition. Rather, we must patiently believe unto the saving of our souls (Hebrews 10:35-39).
  
  
• Godliness: Godliness is another key we are admonished to add to our faith for infallibility. Godliness is another word for holiness. That is sanctification. Godliness is Separation from sin and separating to God. It is living above sin. The word of God says we must pursue peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see God (Hebrews 12:14). So if we want to see God in our lives now and in eternity, we must walk in Godliness or holiness (sanctification).
  
  
• Brotherly Kindness: Brotherly Kindness is from the Greek word “Philadelphia”, which means, fraternal affection. It is another word for brotherly love or love of the brethren. It is the love or kindness between brothers and sisters. It is the burden bearing love between brethren in the Lord. If we walk in this affection, the word of God says we shall never fall. This is one of the secrets of infallibility. It is this kind of love that obeys God’s second greatest commandment – Love thy neighbour as thyself (Matthew 22:39).
  
  
• Charity: Charity is from the Greek word ‘agape’ meaning Love. I believe this key should top the list of the secrets of infallibility, that’s why the Apostle Peter listed it last. Charity in most scriptural context encapsulates or includes brotherly kindness as we just expounded above. It is an affection poured in the heart, only by the Holy Ghost.
  
  It is affection from God, towards God, and people. Charity is affection or benevolence that goes beyond brotherhood. Charity is divine affection that spreads even to the undeserving. To this end, it is superior to Philadelphia, which is just brotherly love. Charity (agape) is a forgiving and forbearing love. And it is the greatest key for infallibility in Christ. But however, it must be combined with the other seven keys for maximum manifestation and effect.

So there you have it. According to the scripture, these eight secrets or keys are the biblical secrets to infallibility from our calling and election of grace.

So, naturally, you never sin then? I wish you were around to tell the apostles that, since they sinned. While physically walking with jesus. But there was no one to tell them... oh. Jesus was there. Never mind.

Actually, this question should be directed at Peter. Peter by the Spirit says "if you do these things you shall never fall"

And I have explained in the context of the scripture.

Or should we explain it to align with people's natural experience? I can never do that. I like taking the word of God for what it says, then I exercise my faith to align with exactly what it says. Instead of bending the scripture to align with natural human experience.

Christians are not natural. They are supernatural. They are spirits. For whosoever is born of the flesh is flesh and whosoever is born of the spirit is spirit. The Lord Jesus said so himself (see John 3). So I reason supernaturally not naturally. So I reason like a spirit not like a flesh.

1 John 1: KJV

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

So my Fellow Christians if you hear anyone preaching that they have no sin you can know the truth is not in them.. This is why the Bible gives us a faithfull saying that is worthy of being accepted by everyone which says::


1 Timothy 1: KJV

15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Note it does not say I was chief.... It says I am Chief...

My dear I have no sin anymore because Christ has forgiven me all my sins.

Verse 9 of 1 John you quoted tells us that if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us. So I have confessed my sins and received forgiveness. And all my sins have been totally cleansed by the blood of Jesus because I have confessed them.

I can't still have what has been cleansed. If I say I have sin after Christ has forgiven me and taken it away, I definitely can't be saying the truth.

My dear, if you have sin, the bible says you should confess (and repent as well) and you will be forgiven and cleansed.

Then for the part of 1 Timothy you quoted. The Apostle Paul didn't say he was still a sinner. He meant, Christ came to save sinners. And among the sinners Christ saved, he is chief. That's what he meant. He didn't mean he was still a sinner. You can be in Christ and remain a sinner. All sinners will have their part in the lake of fire.

For anyone to accept and claim that he is a sinner means he is proclaiming that he is hell bound. And of course, My dear, I know you definitely won't be proclaiming that...

No, I'm directing the question at YOU. And you did not answer. You just talked in circles about nothing. It's a yes or no answer and you are unable to answer it simply.

Fortunately, St. John makes it clear in 1 John 2:1-14 that 1 John 1:8-10 was specifically addressed the saints in the church, saints of all levels of maturity in the faith, in fact, from little children, to young men, to fathers (and the Apostle includes himself in this same group as well). All of our sins were paid for at the Cross. Nevertheless, we all continue to sin at times, and whenever we do, we need to repent and ask the Lord to forgive us.

Why directed at Peter and his flesh would he be considered infallible?

For easy reference, here's what 1 john 1:8 - 1 John 2:14 says:

Well, your question wasn't a yes or no kind of question. You asked and answered yourself. You even concluded it with 'never mind'.

So what I basically did was comment on your comment.

Peter was only handing to us spiritual secrets for mastery out of a heart of love just like I am doing now as well. Like Peter, I am not striving for anything. I am only delivering biblical secrets to help fellow brethren.

Still dodging the question. You claim sinlessness is possible but refuse to claim you're sinless and instead talk around the question and make excuses.
You've been exposed and lost credibility. What a joke.

One can speak upon feasibility without having done it. It doesn't discredit them. They themselves just haven't endeavored to do it. As for sinlessness, do we make more excuses for why we keep sinning or do we find reasons as to why we shouldn't and are capable of walking in righteousness and holiness (by the grace and providence of God)?

John did say "if we sin we have an Advocate with the Father", but "if" implies a possibility not a proclivity. If we are to reckon ourselves dead to sin and to walk in the Spirit, why do we not take this admonition seriously and in fact walk in ways that God has made us able? If grace is no license to sin, then our liberty ought to translate to righteous living.

There are many reasons why we still sin, do not misunderstand me. I just think this discussion needs to also bring up the victory we do have over sin under grace, and how it is that God has empowered and enabled us to overcome it.

The point I get with this thread is just what the OP states: These are keys in order to conquer sin in the flesh. St.Paul tells us the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, Each Apostle has a manner in experience we can learn by. It does not mean you will not fall during the process toward full restoration and abiding. There is a difference between those who sin and those who love sin. Those who sin but do not love sin , do not continue to sin. Those who love sin keep on sinning. We are shown in our beloved Elders how to master the flesh.
Anyone who would find argument or question concerning what the OP addresses would only have them from a carnal perspective.

The DOOR is the flesh, the world and the devil. When you give into the sins of flesh , world and the devil you allow sin to inhabit the soul. Mistakes happen and people stumble and fall, but a saint is a sinner who gets back up. Eventually you become quick footed , and nimble dodging all occasions of sin. But first school is in session and the teachings of the Elders in Christ must be embraced and applied. Always remain humble before God and you will abide. You are Restored when you exhibit the heavenly gifts. Still remain obedient and humble because you do not want to reject your restoration. For it is impossible to be restored again.

I asked him a simple question and he refused to give a simple answer. Further convoluted and excessive responses does not change that.
If he wants to preach extreme views he needs to back it up. He can't. He can't even give a straightforward answer.
Aiding him in his deception speaks poorly of you and is a poor representation of what you believe.

I am neither aiding him in his deception, nor misrepresenting my beliefs. Do you think the way that you're speaking to him will change him, or help him (if you so think he is in deception)? "What a joke" indeed, if you think this line of reasoning and method will help. Why would you seek to crush the man instead of help him up? "You've been exposed and lost credibility", and "what a joke" are not words that are aimed to reveal the truth to a person you believe to be in deception, but to receive applause from the audience.

You say he has avoided your question, and I would strongly beg to differ. Re-read his posts. He is walking by faith, and while he may yet fail in the natural he hopes to stay true to God's word, and desires God's sanctification. He already told you that he will not let circumstance define him but God's word. So instead of looking to where he falls short, he holds to God's word that calls him to holiness.

You can deduce this from what he has written.

I get it, having debated sinless perfectionists, and those who subscribe to Legalism, we often just come out swinging. We want to make our case, and win. The question, however, is who are we trying to convince? If it is our "opponent", then we should watch our words lest we offend them and shut them up from the truth.

This would surely happen IF...stop there a right moment please but because of our old nature still exist and in fact war against our new nature in Christ thus sometime we fail and fall but not to the extent that we fall away.

Well then if it is possible then i challenge you to come forward and claim that you have achieved a sinless life.. That you have conquered sin in the flesh...

Now if you claim that you can but you cannot come forward and claim you have then whats your excuse for failing to achieve something you declare you have the keys to achieve???

I challenge anyone to come forward and make the claim they have achieved a sinless life... But if you do then i will know you are a liar and thus you will be sinning if you ever do..

If a person could stop sinning but chose not to do it then they must love their sinning and those that love evil are doomed...

If you can endevour to cease sinning and you don't then stop supporting the sinlessness in the flesh preachers who have not endevoured to stop sinning themselves..
