Yes, though the number one issue to consider is spiritual state. Diseases like cancer come from a lack of spiritual health that ultimately manifests in the physical. These are things like lies that one has believed. For example, I have a friend with a current case of breast cancer. God has shown her that the cause was her response to having never had physical children, and that the best way to treat it is to work on believing the truth about who he has called to be. That isn't to say that there isn't a place for food based medicine. Another friend of ours was shown to eat a lot of lemons for her breast cancer. And a third friend shared what was going on with her acquaintance at another fellowship. The lady who also had breast cancer felt that God was showing her what to eat and do to heal herself and her tumors were shrinking to the amazement of her doctor. But the doctor said he didn't feel good about not giving her any treatments and convinced her to undergo either radiation or chemotherapy, I'm not sure which. Soon her tumors returned. Unfortunately with cancer in particular, modern medicine tends to work contrary to God's way, which is to support the immune system he designed to fight cancer. Faith in God is also critical for healing and this may have been a component of the results as the lady may have ceased to put her trust in God after the doctor's pressure to look to the medical world for her salvation.
