I agree with you. Now, many scientific articles and substantiations prove the benefits of marijuana.
In medical doses. In Australia, some varieties of marijuana have been developed for a much higher THC level than medical varieties. It won't kill people but it sure can have some nasty side effects. I'm in favour of marijuana as a medical product and that is starting to be prescribed in Australia.

I know several people, including one who shared my house for a while, who were addicts. That has put me off the idea of open slather for non prescription cannabis.

A Board Certified eye surgeon I know says it will lower interocular pressure for those who might be blinded from glaucoma. It's a tough one to choose between law and order and vision.
So does Travatan, and it has no psycho active properties. At least, none that I can detect in my wife.

Drunkenness is a sin, but being high is not like being drunk. They are two fundamentally different states. Have your pot, and enjoy life :]

I agree with you. Now, many scientific articles and substantiations prove the benefits of marijuana. The whole point is that a medical counterpart is essential for patients suffering from serious blood diseases. This also applies to people who struggle with high intracranial pressure. So when I was suffering from headaches, I went to the local Brampton dispensary to get diagnosed. Even though I am a religious man who respects God in his life, I realize that I cannot do it without such medication. So please don't take it upon yourself to judge those whose pain you don't understand.
CBD cannabis medication has all of the benefits and ZERO inebriation effects. Totally OK to use. And highly effective for many maladies.

Drunkenness and being high are basically the same things. Definitely not healthfull spiritual pursuits as the main focus is on self and not God. Better to avoid both states for sure.

probably ought to stop before "loopy",? That is the part that might be akin to "drunk".
Yet out Father knows the trying times we are in and as always He has compassion that moves to us and for us.

Why should I stop before that though? What does a cannabis high even do that is negative? Loopiness feels really nice, trust me, especially when you deal with intrusive and obsessive thoughts.

I mean... what is your evidence for that statement? Have you observed people high? All we do is sit on the couch and eat and watch tv or play games. Drunk people abuse their families and shit. They are two VERY different drugs, that do VERY different things to the human mind. Also, there is scientific evidence to support medicinal marijuana uses.... yet this medicine is somehow a sin because it makes you feel a lil loopy. Right.
My stepson from my second marriage was a pothead along with his cousin. All they could think about was getting high. His antics eventually were a cause of eviction from my apartment. He was an adult whom I was supporting along with his mother who was my late second wife. Abused his mother repeatly and stole here pain medication more than once. After his mother died, I told him the game was over. Haven't seen him since. That is my evidence. You can either be a humble effective servant of the Lord or you can be a pothead. You cannot do both. Smoking pot for alleviation of pain is a lot different than smoking pot to get high. Looks like that you have already made your choice so there is nothing more that I can add to this conversation. I believe that we are done here.

We are share a seed of truth, he is here after all, and our ministry is to anyone, anytime, anywhere.
We have had a lifetime of "Reefer Madness" propaganda while enriching alcohol and beer makers, out movies and tv used to be decent and now preaches violence, filth, and lies.
Maybe we have been wrong on this, of course we must guard against excess.

So this statement gets one banned? Regardless of being correct or not, this type of system is unacceptable. I'll go elsewhere.
Thanks to all who replied to my comment and God bless!

Somehow, I don't think it was just this one statement that got this person banned.
It might be a good idea to get more solid facts before jumping to conclusions.

Jesus teaches not to defile the body with any bad habit, guile, alcohol, or sin. Ephesians 5: 18,19 & 20, Hosea 4:11, Proverbs 23:31,32, Colossians 3:2.

He was using foul and misogynistic language in another thread. I considered that alone was worthy of a ban.

You're right, they're two different experiences but both produce intoxication. Christians are called to be sober, not intoxicated.

It makes people stupid for one thing. I live in a state that legalized medical marijuana; after that you could just see the overall IQ level of people fall. People get a cannabis card then start selling it or sharing it with their friends. And people who don't even need a card can get one; basically anyone can get a card if they go to the right doctors. I wouldn't say any of that is too positive.
