Should guns be used for self defense?

Do you realize that since you've been declared as a perpetrator of criminality, you're liable to be shot by these very people?

They can actually kill you at gunpoint, as they see you as depriving people of their human right to self-defense against armed criminals which makes you morally complicit in their victimization (e.g. murder, maiming, robbery, etc...).


They have a right to do so you know.

Some of them have said so in the past, that they would shoot down such threats immediately.

You are projecting your environment on environments that are exactly the opposite of it. We have hundreds of thousands of street gang members plus their numerous associates here and they are very active. We have criminals aplenty, cartels, prison gangs on the street, etc... You name it: it is here.

There IS every reason to own firearms for self defense where I live and know how to properly use and care for them as well as properly and safely store them.

I better watch out, I better not shout, I better not try to take guns cause AgeOfKnowledge is telling me why. Murder in self defense is coming, to town.

Rachel, we just witnessed government armed snipers killing innocent civilians protesting in Ukraine. These people had to fashion molotov cocktails to have any defense at all. A more ruthless dictator may have slaughtered them all.

Why are you for a government having the ability to murder and terrorize men, women, and children, without those people having any means to defend themselves?

Molotov cocktails are pretty lethal.

I am not for any government. The success of changing or toppling a regime is not because guns are the critical factor.

If you read about the Arab Spring or non-violent demonstrations in India and South Africa, the power of the people outweights that of individual gun ownership.

Having a gun for self defence and civil war does not have the same convergence.
Anyway, I have stated my position on this thread many pages earlier, feel free to scroll back and view them. I cannot repeat myself constantly.

My focus and aim is to follow Jesus Christ, who died so that others may live.

If ya read that with everything around it you might understand it's talking about how as time passes, different things happen. You'd also see, as a continuation of what the author is saying, he comes to the conclusion, 'what reward is their in toil? because I have seen the burden God has placed on Earth. He makes every thing good in its time, but also he has set eternity in men's hearts, yet they do not recognize it. I know that there is no good in anything, except to be glad and to do beautiful things in this life'
