I’m tired of fires! Esp arson fires. They are setting back fires across the lake in West Kelowna to stop the fire from going into densely populated areas. So the smoke gets worse. I wear a carbon filter mask, which is ok at lower temperatures.

supposed to be 99 degrees in my area the next couple of days..

Try 111°. I never thought I'd miss NY winters.

We had 119 two years ago. It was unbearable. But it was even hotter elsewhere in BC. Ironically it wasn’t been
that hot this summer, one day of 36C/97F. Yet the worst fires! Arsonists having a riot, I guess. The police chief stated outright the West Kelowna fire was suspicious and probably arson. And the RCMP stated that 28 fires in the Okanagan of BC in 2017 & 2018 were all arson fires with the same MO. One person started them all.

I used to love summer, with hot, dry air. Now I dread it for the smoke, fires and people losing their homes. Ever single summer. We had no lightening this year. Every single fire has been lit, either intentionally or by stupid people who don’t think about the damage one cigarette butt can do!

That's why the call him Smokey, that is how he got his name.

I live in a place where seasons are fairly distinct. Except some summer days are like winter and sometimes spring is warm. There was a great exodus from here many years ago, incuding a lot of the church members I knew. They were off to sunny Queensland, which has comparatively little seasonal variation. So many people came back that my city was nicknamed "Magnet City". It could also have been called Boomerang Town. The reason most people gave was that they missed the weather here. Queensland boasts "sunny one day, perfect the next". In between cyclones, of course. It's boring. If the doom and gloom brigade are right, you will get your perpetual summer. Be careful what you wish for! You might get it!

Yeah, i was very close to moving there. One of my high school friends lives there.
The only thing that has stopped me moving there is the woke politics especially since i have kids.
