i have.
that's why i know those who claim to be obeying and keeping the Law, specifically the Sabbath (4th) are Law-breakers and are not keeping it at all. any of it.

James 2 10 for whoever the whole law shall keep, and shall stumble in one point, he hath become guilty of all;
What church do you go to? I was up front and said I am a sda so you should tell me about you.

Ok if you read it then you know she said and I quote " If you are thoroughly convinced that God has not spoken by us, why not act in accordance with your faith"
which means why not not be a SDA.

Are you afraid to answer?
Wouldn't it be a real bummer if we found out he believed a false doctrine? I think it is a good idea if he tells us what type of church he attends. It's only fair.

this is a standard defensive tactic.
you're not the first defender of this religion i've had this discussion with.
i'll discuss my faith and church in an appropriate thread.
why derail this one?

this thread:
Re: I am a Seventh Day Adventist, Ask Me.

are you afraid to answer?

has the SDA church revised their position here?

"The writings of Mrs. White were never designed to be an addition to the canon of Scripture. They are, nevertheless, the messages of God to the remnant church and should be received as such as were the messages of the prophets of old. As Samuel was a prophet to Israel in his day, as Jeremiah was a prophet to Israel in the days of the captivity, as John the Baptist came as a special messenger of the Lord to prepare the way for Christ’s appearing, so we believe that Mrs. White was a prophet to the Church of Christ today. And the same as the messages of the prophets were received in olden times, so her messages should be received at the present time." (Review and Herald, October 4, 1928).
do you accept Ellen White as she portrays herself here?
if not, why not?

The Testimonies are of the Spirit of God, or of the devil. In arraying yourself against the servants of God you are doing a work either for God or for the devil.
Testimonies, Vol. 4, p.230

Yet, now when I send you a testimony of warning and reproof, many of you declare it to be merely the opinion of Sister White. You thereby insulted the Spirit of God.
Testimonies, Vol. 5, p.64

If you lessen the confidence of God’s people in the testimonies He has sent them, you are rebelling against God as were Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
Testimonies , Vol.5, p.66

In these letters which I write, in the testimonies I bear, I am presenting to you that which the Lord has presented to me. I do not write one article in the paper expressing merely my own ideas. They are what God has opened before me in vision, the precious rays of light shining from the throne.
Testimonies, Vol. 5, p.67
it appears you are not so forthcoming.

What are the point of your questions? It looks like to be critical? Did you read the OP? It says Bible questions only.
what about the other thread? are you forthcoming there?

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/46868-seventh-day-adventism.html

is "sunday worship" the mark of the beast?

is 'observing the 4th on saturday' ('sabbath') a sign that someone is among the people of God?

would you describe how SDA keep the 4th commandment, please?

First of all, thanks for the answers. Now I'm just making an honest observation here....didnt Ellen White have a "vision" and stated that some people at a conference of believers in 1856 would be alive and remain upon the earth and be translated at the return of Jesus?

"I was shown the company present at the Conference. Said the angel: 'Some food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus.'" Testimonies, Vol. 1, p. 131

That obviously didn't happen...

Deu 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
still no answers. just this:

I am SDA although I was not born a SDA. I think the person starting this thread is trying to escape his own doctrinal errors by trying to point out others. SDA doctrine is not based on Ellen White it is based on the Bible. While Ellen White is a prophet doctrine is not based on what she says. Since I have been on CC I have never quoted EGW because doctrine is based on the Bible.
that is easily refuted.
but i'm not going to bother if this whole forum is defending SDA doctrine.
keep it.

don't fret about it Elizabeth.
you can help defend Ellen White, i won't interfere.

perhaps you can get some action over here:

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/46894-refuting-word-faith-doctrines.html#post759812

people are dissing Word Faith doctrine.
hurry now.
I have not defended the SDA church. I have said more than once that I do not agree with their teachings. Stop being so defensive, and childish.

What I HAVE said is your aggressive behavior is a little bit too harsh.

Laodecia, I do have a question for you. Something I am curious about. A couple years ago I attended a wedding of a childhood friend. She is SDA along with her husband. They did not exchange wedding rings. Why?

The bible says the church started in the wilderness

Acts 7:37-38 (KJV)
This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. [38] This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

Where is te SDA at in the church in the wilderness?

I keep the sabbath and yet I'm not a SDA

When the sabbath was created there was no SDA or denomination

There was man

Adam was not a SDA or belong to any denomination when the Sabbath was created

The angels in heaven keeps the sabbath do the belong to a denomination?

The sabbath did not start with Israel the sabbath was part of the creation

7th day means Sabbath.
Adventist means waiting on the 2nd coming

So when are you going to start a thread? Don't keep us in the dark about your faith. A pastor once said that if you throw a stone into a pack of dogs the one that howls is the one that is hit. The fact that you are howling so loudly against SDA doctrine shows that something has hit home
