It saddens me at the Christians arguing on this site.... over little things.

If I may just say this one thing . . . Condemning someone for doing something that doesn't actually affect you, because it's against your religion, is a bit like condemning someone for eating a donut, while you are on a diet. Just sayin'.

except donuts don't try to marry each other!

You don't get gay by getting raped... or are you now blaming the catholic church for all homosexuality in the world. They seem to like to bugger little boys.

You might be taken more serious if you stopped twisting and misconstruing half the things people said. He never even mentioned the catholic church. I mean, seriously, where do you get this crap? Yet, as you often do, you take this extreme view, twist it into something it was never meant to be and throw it back in that persons face. I've watched you do this time and time again. It shows a weakness that you have to make such pathetic attempts to discredit people who are a challenge to you or that you simply dislike what they have to say.

This is my opinion, although men and women make babies if a gay couple can operate the same maybe through adoption it can be an act of god. our paths on the subject are chosen when we are born because remember love is from god.

to me girls+girls and boys+boys is the same, homosexuality. The way I see it is, many people have a certain type of sin that constantly drags them to commit the same sin or worse (example: bad temper, alcohol abuse, homosexuality, etc.). If your a homosexual, it will be hard to get out of that sin (the bible even states that this type of sin is hard to repent from), so the best you can do is stay abstinent or sacrifice what you love most (the same sex) and do the right thing. When God sees that, he will bless you with greater things.

I will bear that in mind.

I know he did not. But he said that rape caused homosexuality. And since there are a huge number of young people that have been abused/raped by catholic priests I did just draw a parallel.

I do... because he expresses an extreme view himself.

I do not call people weak or pathetic... but your opinion is noted.

This is not a little thing...

Yes it is.

They make it out to be the bigger sin, when in reality, if they ever lied, then they also broke all the other commands. That's why they need grace. They just can't accept that, and it's sad. It is not a big thing though. It's not a greater sin.

Man puts the degree on what sin is worse then others. SIN is SIN! In God's eyes no one sin is greater then another. We all struggle with sin. The bible is very clear on God's position on homosexuality, as well as other sins. God loves the sinner, hates the sin in us.

This is not a little thing...

I mean it is not a little thing since it is on so many christians minds. I seldom hear people talking so much about all the lying that goes on. But the homosexuality.... oh that is a big subject!

I agree.

I told my testimony a few weeks ago at a Christian school, and some of the kids were like "OOOOOOOOOOOOH" I told them it was no different than them lying to their parents to get what they want. They shut-up really quick. Hah.

Can you be Christian and struggle with homosexuality? Can you be Christian and struggle with pornography? Ok then :D

The difference is when you say, "oh it's perfectly fine for me to do this" and embrace whatever even though the bible says otherwise. That I do not agree with. Everyone has their demons but when you justify it contrary to what the bible says, then I'd have to question where your faith truly lies. You can't serve two masters.

And for the record, yes I struggle with it. And I do sometimes wonder if the right type of person came along, if I'd turn him away like I hope I would... but I don't think it's ok, no.

Upfront (not that it matters), I am not gay.

That being said, I don't know how I feel about whether or not being gay and acting on it is a sin or not...but right now, I'm thinking that it's not. Again: I DON'T KNOW ECACTLY HOW I FEEL.

I know all of the verses that people use to point out that it is wrong and not how God created it.

BUT, I've also heard views on the other side of it. I also study a bit of ancient history in school and know that man-on-man action in the Bible wasn't what it is today. Then, it was talking about rape and that has never been ok. (I also don't have all the facts on this.)

I know Christians who are gay and are ok with God. They feel that it is not a sin (and I know they aren't justifying their sin by saying this--they've actually experienced God's comfort in who they are with this...meaning that they are gay).

So, I was wondering if anyone on here is gay and would like to share how they feel in their relationship with God on this.

Comments from straight people are welcome, too, of course.

I've just been incredibly curious and confused about this for a while.

Hi Lyndies, strait guy here, same sex marriage is a problem with mankind not only because it is not of God's nature but also because it is noticeably corrupted seen as being confusion, not to mention God who didn't come to abolish the law but fulfill it said in the OT that it is abominable. or else he wouldn't have seen it as being sinful such as a man having more than one wife.

Sorry, a few improvements have been made to the previous post;

Hi Lyndies, strait guy here, same sex marriage is a problem with mankind not only because it is not of God's nature but also because it is noticeably corrupted seen as being confusion, not to mention God who didn't come to abolish the law but fulfill it said in the OT that it is abominable. or else he wouldn't have seen it as being sinful from the beginning. He created both Male and Female and with a purpose. This flawed image of gay living has become a charade among men today. We as Christians should yearn to be more Christ-like and Christ didn't teach homosexuality. I guess I'm being firm and all for one side and bold about the point but that's just because it's a point well made.

There are "greater" and "lesser" sins. Jesus says so.

John 19:11

Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."

Seriously...God is very clear about his view on homosexuality. I kinda understand that the world defends homosexuality, but Christians?! You are shutting heaven's gate for homosexuals by denying that Jesus can save them from their sins, can't you see? By saying that homosexuality is ok and not a sin you are saying that those who declared to be have been freed from homosexuality are mere liars since they were never wrong in the first place. If you want homosexuals to go to Heaven stop turning a blind eye on their sin because that surely won't help them.
