I distinctively recall encountering a version that featured red letters in the OT as well as the NT and wishing that I had a copy. Some see the law in the NT but seem to miss the grace which carried the faithful all throughout the OT.

Hmm. Interesting. Do you recall what was in red in that section?

MM

Jesus has shown me enough of your group's posts to tell me me not to let your group influence me, especially in obedience that pleases Him.

🕊
These many people in Matthew 7:22-23 also believed their "alleged" obedience was pleasing to Jesus yet they found out the hard way that was not the case. I'm yet to hear a clear and concise presentation of the gospel from your group.

Well, I have to say that the red letter phenomenon is pure nonsense. ALL of scripture is inspired and God-breathed, not just the red letters. The difference is that not all of it applies to us, and you're among those who fail to differentiate that properly.

MM
Are you a person that can digest information?

I said I LISTEN TO AND HEAR THE RED LETTERS IN THE NT.

In reply to YOUR insinuation that I obey some guy that is called a pastor.

IOW, Musicmaster....
MY PASTOR IS JESUS.

YOU took my statement to mean that I do not believe the rest of scripture is inspired.

Proof positive that....
You REALLY DO ASSUME too much sir.

This is why I hesitate to converse with you.
Sometimes I make the mistake of doing so.

Ah.....

So you DO believe there are TWO groups:

One that states that we are to OBEY GOD and, indeed MUST obey Him.

and the other group -to which YOU belong -
that muddies the waters in order to be able to believe that we ARE NOT REQUIRED TO OBEY God.

You need something "concise" in order to know that God must be obeyed???

Most strange indeed.

And you think there are TWO gospels?

You've been reading too much of the master of music's posts.

Nor you.

And you the same.

"No one who obeys God actually believe you love him?

What on earth are you saying?
You're supposedly a Christian person.
You think you know some theology.

Sort out what the other member stated.

IF you can due to your strange beleif system.

You think one that says we must follow His commandments to be saved wouldn’t falsely accuse people aka LIE. Are you still saved after you lied about me?
Are you talking about me?

Maybe I really should read each and every post in a thread.
Unfortunately, I don't have the time.

IF you ARE speaking about ME...
please post where I "lied".

Thanks.

You obey God BillG?

Then please encourage other persons to obey Him,,,
it is your duty.

And I don't mean the wishy washy kind of obedience....
it states that we obey because WE WANT TO.

Must we?
Or only if we want to??

Jesus said we MUST.
What say YOU?

Jesus said that those that do not bear fruit will be cut off.
I do believe He means that we MUST obey.

John 15:2
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away;

Technically that’s not true. You could bike to improve your stamina. You could also follow God’s commandments for self-benefit or to impress others instead of out of love. The whole point of the analogy is that keeping His commandments comes naturally from loving Him. Same with my wife. Me doing things to please her naturally comes from me loving her. I don’t do things for her expecting something in return.

One more analogy from a good movie: If you build it they will come.
Analogies are dumb...know why?

Most persons either don't understand them
or
Don't know how to use them.

They're a waste of time.

I'm pretty tired of hearing about you and your wife.
Other men have wives you know.
Other men treat their wives very well.

WHAT does that have to do with anythnig??

And you never did reply to my question about your wife and your marrige.
Wonder why?

Seen any good looking women lately?
Any thoughts come to mind?
Why didn't you go ahead to engage?
Maybe because you MUST NOT?

Or
Maybe you're not human and have NO THOUGHTS.

Do I need to spell it out even more?
Do you comprehend anything?

YOU MUST BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR WIFE.
WE MUST OBEY GOD.

OR
there are consequences.

Talk is cheap Gideon.

How about posting some scripture instead of your OPINION?

What I'm hearing right now is that:

1. Obedience is nice,,,but not really necessary.
2. No difference between justification and sanctification.
3. Jesus has done it all...nothing is required of us.

If you care to address the above,,,please use the NT which you claim to understand.
I'm not wasting my time with you. What I've said should be written on your heart. If I thought that you are open to truth, I would take time to respond.

Rounding up everyone against me means nothing.

I'll have what? All the people like you disapprove of me? So what?

I don't want to be like you or be part of your like-minded group. I don't want your influence of just giving God lip service, saying you love Him but not really obeying Him at all.

🕊
I don't want to be like you either.

You accuse and lie about people you don't even know.
You accuse me of not obeying God and you don't even know me.
I would call someone Godly who lies about people and makes false accusations and slander.

That's you.

Goodbye.

Obedience is not forced or legalistic for those who are born of God. (1 John 3:7-10) You really should heed James 3:1.
You really do need to learn how to use vereses that are condusive to your stated purpose.

You picked 1 John 3:7-10 ??!!

You picked James 3:1 ??!!

Bad choices.

1 John 3:7-20
7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;

8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil [c]has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

9 No one who is [d]born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is [e]born of God.

10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: [f]anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

What does it say?

1. We should not be deceived by those who practice lawlessness. Verse 4

2. Those who practice righteousness are righteous. Notice the sequence.....we PRACTICE....we ARE.

3. We must be righteous as God is righteous.

4. If we practice sin...lawlessness (Matthew 7)....disobedience...are not of God.

5. Those who are born of God do NOT practice sin/lawlessness....which is disobedience.

6. We are not of God if we do NOT PRACTICE RIGHEOUSNESS.

To be righteous .... RIGHT WITH GOD.....we MUST OBEY God.

Your verse
James 3:1
3 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a [a]stricter judgment.

Do YOU teach the absolute necessity of obeying God?

THAT is what you're SUPPOSSED to be teaching.

HOW can we know you obey God?

You're one of those that states that we obey IF WE WANT TO.
Or something or other about wanting to.

So, maybe you DON'T WANT to stop stealing?

Maybe you don't WANT TO stop lieing?

If you stated that we MUST obey God..
we would be sure that you believe that we MUST obey God....

and not just because, willy nilly, WE WANT TO.

You are not teaching what Jesus taught.

You're one of those that states that we obey IF WE WANT TO.

please fine and post where I state we can obey if we want to.

If you cannot find it then apologies and stop assuming what you think I am saying.

If you find it I will clarify.
