HOW do you know what I do?
WHY is this so personal to you?

Can we just keep this to theology and keep out the personal questions and comments?
I just dont believe people should criticise others for what they fail to do themselves. Maybe youve got me thinking of works/bad works

Are you depending on Jesus
or are you depending on the law?

Your assurance is that you believe in Jesus...
you believe in His salvific work....
you believe in the resurrection.

If you BELIEVE in jesus...you will obey Him.
That's all that is required.

To give pushback to someone stating that we must obey God...
is like stating that we do not have to obey God.

At least, that's how it seems to me.
Again...I don't understand why this is debated.
I’m depending 100% on Jesus’ work and 0% on my work.

What has that got to do with your accusations of me being a liar?

You admit it yourself by saying "I know it's not us" than contradict yourself by saying there "is something we must do".

We are either saved by grace through faith in Christ or you make God a liar as well as yourself.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

It is Christ who takes away the consequences of our sin, not you. By the grace of God alone do you enter that sin free place which, is the lord Jesus Christ.

John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

I don't see your name in there Ouch. It wasn't you who hung on the Cross.

When you believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ it is He who baptizes you into His work, your work is as filthy rags.

Christ's baptism is one with the Spirit, not water. Water has no effect to achieve what is necessary to place you in Christ, it is a supernatural work of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

Just because you believe in water baptism and I don't, doesn't make me a liar, that is simply your opinion. I have shown you from God's word how water is past it's due date. Peter agrees. He says our salvation is baptism through the resurrection of Christ 1Pet.3:21 and how are we placed into Christ's resurrection? See above. Salvation is by His work and His work alone.

Now, I wonder if you would like to recant your lie saying I only share my opinions and not the word of God. (post#6754) Anyone with eyes will see I have shared God's word in the majority of my posts.

I call it your lie because of these two verses.

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16
King James Version
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Can you see what they say?

Initial salvation verses, no?
Not only is belief for initial salvation...
but many gloss over what it means to BELIEVE when it was used in NT times.

It means to have faith in,,
to follow...
to be a disciple of...
which means to learn from the one believed in.

I’m depending 100% on Jesus’ work and 0% on my work.
Bad.
Unless you're reformed.
All other Christians believe in a synergistic relationship....

which is the right way of having a relationship.

A one sided relationship
is not a relationship....
because you are not relating to the other person.

Interesting ....
but nor for now...
too late here for heavy stuff.
If you remind me tomorrow....

This has to be the most misunderstood passage in the NT...or close to it.

1. Catholics use this to prove purgatory.

2. Protestants use this to show that we could sin all we want and we will still make heaven...

Just barely...

But we will get there.

is THIS what you believe?
Number 1 or number 2??

You are proving my point, BTW.
Those that fight against the word MUST or against stating that we are to do good works...
have some kind of agenda. Maybe number 2 ??
Option 3.

HOW do you know what I do?
WHY is this so personal to you?

Can we just keep this to theology and keep out the personal questions and comments?

1 Tim 2:12
But I do not allow a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

Option 3.

You're probably reformed Kroogz.

I'm not exercising authority.

But I am posting what the bible says.

But YOU are not required to read my posts.

Just skip over them.

And wouldn't you think it's GOD that has predestinated me to post here?

WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW.

There is NO LIST.

There's a kind of list in Matthew 25.

i would suggest you do NOT ask for lists.
Here's one for the list:

But my righteous[g] one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.”[h]
39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Heb10:38&39

Great verses, but none of them say obedience leads to salvation.

Ephesians 2:8...saved by grace. It doesn't say...for by obedience you are saved.

You are conflating obedience as the cause of salvation, and not as an outcome of salvation.
I see.

So you like to read only Ephesians 2:8 and ignore the rest of the bible??

Do you like:

Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

if you are doing good works...
you are obeying God.

And, just to clarify because this strawman keeps coming up....
We are saved by God's grace through faith.

This discussion is about those that are saved.

Those that are NOT saved, are not required to obey God.[/QUOTE]
Don't you see the difference? Saved by grace apart from works. Created unto good works. First salvation; then works.

I see.

Well, we're discussing those that are already saved.

So saved by grace apart from works is good theology.

For justification.

We're discussing sanctification here.

Don't you see the difference? Saved by grace apart from works. Created unto good works. First salvation; then works.
Oh wait.

Did I misunderstand?

Did you say FIRST SALVATION
AND THEN WORKS??

Yes sir!!
Agreed 100%

I apologize for the misunderstanding.

In His Name?
Yes.

His name is not "water."

What did you do in HIS name without water.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

What's you thoughts with these tow scripture?

What do you think we have to do to be saved?

I see.

Sh, dont tell her, she might get upset:
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[e] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[f] Rom1:17

No.
What I stated is not personal.

Only the reformed believe women should keep out of stuff.
Oh.
And Muslims or the Islamic faith.

And I didn't ASK if you're reformed....
I stated that you probably are....

and, yes, you probably are.

Sure.
But we ARE created for good works.

But you keep asking why I believe this.

I believe it because the NT says so.

And you just stated it also.

So why are we debating this??
