In the mean while...

We are all born with a fallen nature.
Thus?
Born in sin.

Jesus got rid of the consequences for sin, in our place, on the Cross.

You waste your time. He has been shown many times it is the new covenant where the blood of the Lamb remits sin but he keeps on insisting it can only happen in the water. He would rather believe what fallible Peter says rather than what his Lord says.

Matthew 26:28
For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

That is what JESUS did, what does that have to do with what we do?

Or are you implying that since JESUS died on the cross EVERYONE is saved and Heaven bound?

You agree we are born in sin,

Same question, how do we get rid of them?

He may not be, he may be humble.

Genez...

How about this -if it helps (not sure).

We are saved immediately upon believing...here there is no doubt whatsoever.
The Holy Spirt comes to be with us....

Old Testement believers had the Spirit be 'with' them.
Not in them.

When Jesus spoke to his disciples in the Gospels they were still functioning at OT believers.
The Spirit was "with" them.

Jesus predicted what would change when they would become Christian in John 14:16-17...

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you
forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor
knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17

OT... the Spirit was with the saints.
NT... The Spirit is in the saints.

The filling of the Spirit in the OT was given by God for empowerment and enabling when a special work needed to be done for God.
That does not mean the Spirit was always with them.

This is the one and only work (not works) we do for salvation.

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
John 6:28-29

So your going to sick with EVERYONE is saved?

No problem here.

LOL, SORRY, I thought you was commenting to a comment I made to someone else.

JESUS doen't need any bible HE knows everything, how many hairs are not on my head, how much sand is on the beach.

People who will not follow HIS word will be shocked, but it is what it is.
Ok. I was starting to get worried.

everyone who believes

We’ve already been through this and I see no need to do it again. I believe that we are saved by faith. You believe we are saved by faith plus works. We can agree to disagree.

I'm not agreeing to disagee one of us are wrong!!!

We have and your plan of salvation which doesn't require repentance, getting rid of our sins OR JESUS filling us with the Holy Ghost!!

So I for sure do not agree to disagree.

Not sure how my belief doesn’t include those things but I guess you can always disagree to disagree. The thing is if we go back and forth for a few days on this, would the outcome actually be one of us changing our beliefs? I doubt it. You believe the KJV is the only version that is true but yet you aren’t fluent in 1600’s English. Neither am I which is why I use other versions for the most part which you don’t trust. So it seems we are at a stalemate.

Are you well?

Using the "making no sense" ploy to make everyone forget what was said that was showing how you are wrong?

You are becoming absurd.

Believes what? What JESUS says? Or just in JESUS?

In Christ's work on the Cross for our sin and Him being raised from the dead. That's the Gospel 101.

1Cor.15:2-4
2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

It is written.

Not everyone is saved.

Jesus did all that was needed so that anyone who wanted to believe?

Would be entered into salvation.

Its like he paid for everyone's ticket.
But only those who claim their ticket can get in.

There is no hope for Ouch! He has sat on his own sword one too many times. . . . .

As a Jew who knows many fellow Jews, a number of them historians, others Messianic Jews who know the Bible, reading both the Greek and Hebrew, they do indeed attest to the fact that the Messianic Jews of the first century did indeed believe in water baptism for salvation
BUT.......were they right? Many believe it, doesn't make it the truth.

Same as today with the water baptism crowd. Many believe it, but it doesn't make it the truth.

All through scripture.......It is Grace through faith that saves, not some boastful fruit/work/deed.

@Genez might want to weigh in?

That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God,
who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe." 1 Tim 4:10
He died for the sins of the whole world.

Indwelling is different than being filled. We are responsible to be filled with the Spirit, but have nothing to do with being indwelled. One is the work of the Spirit placing us into the body of Christ and the other involves our daily submission and yielding to the Spirit.
I love this @Cameron143. But it is from my understanding of Scripture.

What must I do to be saved? Acts 16:31. He doesn't arbitrarily indwell a sinner. He indwells those who believe. He set the standard, and we must follow His standard.

Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved......Indwelling. 1 John 1:9 Name and site our sin to God......Filling.
