In John 3:3, Jesus says unless a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. In John 3:5, Jesus says unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God. In essence, being born again is being born both of water and the Spirit.

In other words, Jesus isn't distinguishing between natural birth and spiritual birth. He is only speaking about spiritual birth or what being born again consists in.

Water is symbolic of the gospel...1 Peter 1:23.

So you think we have to have two spiritual births? One human spirit not enough for you?

How do you make the connection that water is symbolic of the Gospel when it talks about being born of imperishable seed? Since when has water ever been imperishable seed?

Why was JESUS and his disciples baptizing people in John 3:22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

Why, for want reason?

Because Israel was being prepared for her Messiah. A Messiah that would eventually baptize them with the Spirit, not water.

So the word of GOD saves us, everyone is going to Heaven.

Do we have to buy a bible?
Of course not everyone gets saved. The gospel is the power of God to those who believe.

Do you believe purchasing a Bible saves an individual?

Good, how do we get rid of sins? Does just believing get rid of them?

No, because I have on I know there is more to it than just believing.

No I don't believe in 2 spiritual births.

The imperishable seed is the word of God. If we are born again by the word of God according to 1 Peter 1:23 and by water and the Spirit according to John 3:5, the water has to be the gospel or the the Spirit. It's not the Spirit

We are not born spiritually of water. If you insist we are then you are effectively saying we need to be born twice spiritually, once by water and then again by the Spirit.

Doesn't work that way.

The water there symbolizes the gospel.

Yea, it is baptism, JESUS says water and spirit, in Act 2,8,10 and 19 when those folds were grafted in it was with both being baptized in JESUS (born of water) name and being filled with the Holy Ghost (born of spirit).

How do we get "regenerated we are dead in our sins"

When you were born the first time?

Your mother broke water.
That is the first birth...

Born of your mother (water) + born of the Spirit = born again.

Maybe that is how we get regenerated? By the water?

And then we get saved by the blood?.......o_O

Some whacky crap going on in these last days! And Obviously some very intelligent people, looking like fools.

The water there symbolizes the gospel.

Says nothing of the sort. Water is symbolizing physical birth for everyone is born with an intellect which was Nicodemus' problem. He was a very smart man but an unbelieving religious Jew. Nicodemus was relying on his "book smarts" to understand God. Jesus, as he quite often did with people, cut right to the heart of the matter and told him one had to be spiritually alive in order to comprehend spiritual matters, intellect alone will not cut it.

Yeah. Why people cannot comprehend the simple wording of something .. ???? Spirit gives birth to spirit.

And to add a little more to the story so people can understand why this conversation is happening the way it is ...

What brought Nicodemus to Jesus? It was the signs/miracles He did.

John 3:2
He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

Yet this proved a dilemma for Nicodemus and prompted doubts and fear for he came in secret (at night). Yet when John the baptist had doubts, what was Jesus' response to him? The very same signs that brought Nicodemus to Jesus.

Matt.11:4-6
4 Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”

John would have been comforted by Jesus answer. Why? Because John was spiritually alive and understood the significance whereas Nicodemus was still dead in his sin and it was all too confusing for him for he was relying on his own intellect to try and work out God's ways and workings.
