OK, so you never at all desire anything you should not desire. I wonder how many would testify to that

I desired those things before I submitted to the Holy Spirit, but ive seen other Christians live godly lives - haven't you? Anyway, I asked God about that and He showed me in the Bible that it's about submitting and abiding in Him. If you let Him do His work in you and not resist Him, you really WILL obey Him and be able to resist sin and temptation!

Most people don't really want to submit to God - very few do. They just want Him to be their Saxior and not their Lord. He must be BOTH to receive salvation.

I went to a church on a Saturday for a while to please a friend. It was constantly stated ''you must obey the TC'' A woman turned up for church each week immaculately dressed with a bible tucked under her arm. If the minister said something she approved of in the sermon, she gave out a hearty ''AMEN'' To look at the woman you would have thought she was the most Godly of folk. However, a while later I found out she was having multkiple affairs, some overlapping. I asked her one day:
''How can you do that, you're breaking the TC''
She replied, and I quote:
''All sin is equal and n o noes perfect''
I wouldnt really have much regard for pat sentances. Paul told born again christians in the present tense:
The letter of the TC kills, it is the ministry of death and condemnation
Paul also gave an example of why he had to die to the law as he put it. He could not obey the law regarding the inner man, the law only he and God need know he broke. Possibly some today, believe they have transcended the holiness Paul reached

night let me run something by you..

for those that believe Paul Taught the Law i.e. the Torah was abolished,

lets look at this from another view point.

If you were very successful in some career, becoming wealthy and had sons and daughters.

As you grew older and wanting to pass on you wealth, You must take a hard look at your children.

Which, if any, could you trust to protect and even grow that wealth?

This is the same question the Father must determine of us.

The Father is not going to turn over “power” and eternal life to anyone He cannot trust— and has not proven they can be trusted to do and to follow the same Way of life the Father and Jesus Christ have lived for eternity?
Living by the same set of rules and standards They live by.

if you do not understand or accept this is fact – don’t bother reading further.

Why would you, as a father, turn over anything of value to a son or daughter that had no self-control, no morals, spent every dollar they could get their hands on and caused problems for the entire family?
A better analogy would compare the natural son (who outwardly obeys the letter of the law and expects his inheritance because of it) with the adopted son (who is delighted with the father, loves him with his whole heart, consistently does what is right, and checks with Dad when he's not sure).

Or, better yet, the parable of the two sons in Luke 15.

Our Father has set before us a Perfect WAY.

“A hebraic definition of Torah is:

"a set of Instructions, from a father to his children, violation of these instructions are disciplined in order to foster obedience and train his children".

We who are in Christ are no longer children in this sense.

The entirety of God’s Word encourages, ask for, and demands our obedience.

Is it not written Christ obeyed perfectly? Why would our Father not expect the same for the rest of HIS Children?
Because He knows our weakness. He knows, even though apparently you don't, that you are unable to obey perfectly.

Saturday? You went to an SDA church? I don't know anything about them.

If you don't want to obey God, just say so.

If you understood the core terms on which the new covenant stands you wouldnt have asked that
BTWI want to bey the second greatest commandment, so I would not insist of anyone what I do not insist of myself, for that would not be showing love to your neighbour

Asked what? That you went to an SDA church? I've never gone to one, so i wouldn't know their core terms. Not sure what you're talking about.

Also don't know what your second paragraph is talking about. All I said is if you don't want to obey God, just say so?

Jesus died for us so that our sins are forgiven. BUT that's just the Savior part of Jesus. The other part of Jesus is Him as Lord - He wrote His laws and commands in our hearts AND gave us His Holy Spirit specifically so that we cam obey God and resist sin. We're no longer our own. We CAN'T ignore that part of Him for salvation.

I know you just want Him to be your Savior, but He MUST be your Lord too for salvation. Jesus beng your Lord is actually part of the core foundation that the new covenant stands on.

If your pastor or anyone else is teaching you that Jesus doesn't have to be youtr Lord, that He just only needs to be your Savior, he is misleading you. Please let the Holy Spirit point all this out to you in the Bible. He will do this and help you live in His power too.

You didnt tell me what the core foundation is upon which the new covenant stands. If you are looking to the TC to prove obedience to God you are looking in the wrong place. The TC is an inflexible law, thou shalt NOT, no wiggle room for error. Perfectly obey them or stand guilty before them, we all stand guilty before theletter of that law.
Paul told born again christians in the present tense: The letter of the TC kills, it is the ministry of death and condemnation
Incidentally, and this is the truth, I have always found, the most flagrant transgressors of the TC are those who keep insisting you must obey them. They make ''pat statements'' they nowhere near live up to in their lives

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ETERNAL LIFE ACCORDING TO JESUS
(All verses are from the ASV.)

Jesus never left people unsure about eternal life. When someone asked Him how to enter the Kingdom, His answer always pointed to the same truths: trust in Him, keeping God’s commandments, doing the Father’s will, following His voice, and staying united with Him.

One of the clearest moments is when the rich young ruler came with a sincere question. The Scripture says, “And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him… if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments (Matthew 19:16–19). Jesus then listed the commandments to show exactly what He meant. Eternal life is connected to obeying God.

Jesus also said that calling Him Lord is not enough. Eternal life belongs to those who do the Father’s will. “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven (Matthew 7:21). This makes obedience to God’s will part of the path to life.

Jesus also linked eternal life with keeping His word. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my word, he shall never see death (John 8:51). Keeping His word means trusting Him, obeying Him, and letting His teaching guide our daily steps.

He also taught that we must abide in Him. Abide in me, and I in you… for apart from me ye can do nothing (John 15:4–5). To abide in Him is to stay close to Him, listen to His voice, and walk in His teaching. Jesus explained how this abiding works: If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love (John 15:10). Obedience is not a burden. It is the way we remain in His love.

Jesus also spoke of following Him, because He is the only way that leads to the Father. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life (John 10:27–28). Eternal life is promised to those who hear His voice and follow His steps.

He also spoke of the final judgment, showing that our choices matter. “They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment” (John 5:28–29). Here Jesus shows that eternal life is tied to a life shaped by obedience, faith, and goodness.

Together, these teachings show that eternal life is given to those who believe in Jesus, follow Him, keep the commandments, abide in His love, walk in the Father’s will, and live a life of doing good. His words form one simple, clear path.

Isaiah 60:1-12
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you,And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

4 “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you;
Your sons shall come from afar,And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
5 Then you shall see and become radiant,And your heart shall swell with joy;
Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.
6 The multitude of camels shall cover your land,The dromedaries of Midian and Ephah;
All those from Sheba shall come; They shall bring gold and incense,
And they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord.
7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, The rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you;
They shall ascend with acceptance on My altar, And I will glorify the house of My glory.

8 “Who are these who fly like a cloud, And like doves to their roosts?
9 Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me; And the ships of Tarshish will come first,
To bring your sons from afar, Their silver and their gold with them,To the name of the Lord your God,
And to the Holy One of Israel, Because He has glorified you.

10 “The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls,And their kings shall minister to you;
For in My wrath I struck you, But in My favor I have had mercy on you.
11 Therefore your gates shall be open continually; They shall not be shut day or night,
That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, And their kings in procession.
12 For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish, And those nations shall be utterly ruined.

There was only one way to receive immortality and the following verse states, the only way anyone
can be saved.

1 Corinthians 2:2
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

There is no other way to be saved and that free gift of immortality is given by Jesus Christ,
to those that believe.

Don't ever say that there is some other way to receive immortality and certainly not by your
obedience. Don't ever mention there is something you can add to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Okay., you do you. Don't obey God then if you don't want to, and falsely hope He only needs to be your Savior and not your Lord.

No one who knows God to obey Him and resist sin by His power cares if you condemn us. You have no power to send us to hell. We're doing what He wanrs, pleasing Him, so He's not going to either. 🫠

you say i said something that i never said, you accuse me falsely, as usual . well guess what, my foundation is solid because I follow Christ and do as he asked believe every word that he said and I will not fall.

You do not understand the gospel.

Colossians 1:21-23
And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has
now reconciled you
in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and
blameless and beyond reproach
if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast,
and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all
creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

You can only be holy and blameless if you continue in the faith, Jesus makes you holy.

The foundation is Jesus Christ crucified and not your obedience.

You say I don't obey God because I don't perfectly see reflected in my life what the bible terms the letter that kills, the ministry of death and condemnation?
Your post is full of bearing false witness. Not surprised, as I keep telling you, the most blatant transgressors of the TC are those who keep insisting they must be obeyed.
My conscience would not allow me to transgress what is written in the ninth commandment as easily as you feel able to. So who truly cares the most about wanting to see reflected in their life what is written in those laws?

It might makes you feel better to make all those false accusations at me, but consider: God sees everything and He just saw you lie about me and make false accusations. Moreover, how easy it was for you to commit these sins. It shows that you don't submit to God, because He would never tell you or make you do those things.

Oh I haven't lied, I haven't condemned anyone, not my place. And you disobey God the same as everyone else does unless you claim to be sinless-do you?
I would care a little more if I was you about the law you insist must be obeyed

Its apparent you don't want to obey God because you're still deflecting. If God wrote His laws and command into your heart AND He gave you the Holy Spirit so you can obey Him, why won't you obey God? Why is that transgression to you? It isn't to Him.

Did it ever dawn on you that you have to give an account to God for the things He gave you to be saved? He's going to ask you about the laws and commands He wrote on your heart and if you let the Holy Spirit work in you to obey those laws and commands.

In the Bible, God gave wedding clothes to His guests, but found one who didn't wear them. Guess what He did? He threw that man out:

Matthew 22:11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.

13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

You're like that man who didnt wear wedding clothes. You refuse to use what God has given you when He expects you to.

Paul tells us the law engraved in stone is the letter that kills, the ministry of death and condemnation. He stated that to born again christians in the present tense. I have met many who insist you must obey the TC and like to infer they do obey them all, but I have noticed one consistant thing. They have no heartfelt conviction as to where the bar is set concerning sin in regard to those laws. Paul did, hence his words. Of course, these people do make ''pat statements;'' that bear no reflection to their own personal lives, seen it all my life.
Do I assume you believe you live a sinless life?
I dont mind what you wrote about me, I am in good company. The religious of Jesus day accused him of being a law breaker
One of the reasons steven was arrested and stoned to death? He was accused of ignoring the law
Paul wrote: Brothers if I am still preaching circumcision/ie law, why am I still being persecuted, in that case the offence of the cross has been abolished Gal5:11
Personally, I think it is better to be humble and admit we have faults, rather than trying to proclaim to others we fully obey when we do not

We're not talking about laws written on stone, we're talking about the laws God Himself has written in our HEARTS. They don't kill. And God won't kill you for obeying Him. God actually expects you to walk in them by the Holy Spirit. Obeying His laws written on our hearts please Him. Who cares if others comdemn you? They have no power to send you to hell.

Also I'd rather listen to God and obey Him than listen to you. All you're doing is trying to encourage me not to obey God. You'll have to answer to God for that as well.
