That's kind of you to share, Jordon sir. I don't know anything much about the Celtic languages. Maybe you could share a phrase with me that you remember?

He said God is love (Rom. 5:5, 1John 4:8), so yes, we pray/speak (Eph. 4:15) in accordance with God's Word/will/love (Matt. 6:10).

That's the point, when praying in the spirit we have no clue what we are praying.

Why??? Because it's the spirit praying through us.

1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Just planting seeds.

In the Name of the Lord, we are interceded for according to the work of the Spirit when we pray...

I recently listened to an older pastor, very old. He spoke of his initial studies, training, and seminary education. When asked would he recommend that course to others he said he would not recommend seminaries, but instead reading Scripture and praying, to bring scripture into one’s heart. Too much study can have a negative effect.

Paul explains what happens with the Holy Ghost in 1 Corinthians 14.

So there are ways we as members of the Body of Christ can have spiritual gifts, like knowing how to talk or to make music pleasing to His ear

love is really silent, and really its in silence true love talks to you in spirit , I guess I'm saying we can talk to each other just in eye contact alone, as the eyes are the gateway to the soul 🙂

JESUS says in,

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

After we are filled we all get different gifts which make up the whole body.

In Eph. 6:18 Paul instructs believers to “pray in the Spirit”, so the doctrines of the HS and Prayer are closely related.

Jesus taught believers to pray to God “our Father in heaven” (in Matthew 6:9a, cf. Luke 11:2-4). Addressing God as our heavenly Father connotes that we who pray are children of God, reborn of the Spirit (John 3:3-8) through union by Faith with God’s Son (Rom. 8:9-17, 1John 5:1-6).

James 2:19 says demons or ungodly souls may believe in God’s existence, so perhaps they might address God in order to curse Him (Job 2:9, cf. John 17:1).

Jesus prayed for the Kingdom of God (KOG) or God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, referring to the reign of His Spirit in the hearts of believers (Luke 17:20b-21). The KOG is manifested in the world as salt and light or as love and truth (cf. TOJ #19), which is the HS (Rom. 5:5, 1John 5:6). Examples of reflecting the HS’s love are mentioned in the Parable of the Sheep and Goats (Matt. 25:31-46, TOJ #35).

In the writings of Paul, the KOG is called the body (1Cor. 12:13, Eph. 1:23 & 5:30) or church of Christ (Col. 1:13 & 18, Eph. 2:22, 3:10 & 5:23), into which believers are baptized by the HS (1Cor. 12:13).

The sign of being filled with the HS is love, which includes admitting one’s faults and forgiving others theirs (Matt. 6:12//Luke 11:4 a) [TOJ #36, cf. TOJ #14]. Genuine saving Faith is manifested by the fruit of the HS, especially loving forgiveness or a concern for spiritual unity. Confession is the key to having a right relationship with God (1John 1:9) or being Spirit-filled, which is manifested by mercy (TOJ #148). {Mark 11:25. Matt. 18:15-17}.

When we pray for power to resist temptations (Matt. 6:13//Luke 11:4 b) [TOJ #37], we receive empowerment via the HS. Jesus reiterated this teaching on the Mount of Olives before He was betrayed. {Matt. 27:41//Mark 14:38//Luke 22:40 & 46} We know that God will always grant this prayer request (1Cor. 10:13). This prayer seems equivalent to protection from the evil one {John 17:15}. This also was a major theme of James (Jam. 4:2, 1:5 & 12-13) and of Paul (Eph. 1:17-19, Phil. 1:9-11, Col. 1:10-12).

Paul associated prayer with the HS in Eph. 3:16-19, saying “may God strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, and that you being rooted and established in love may have power and… be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” In 1Cor. 2:4-16 Paul associated the HS with God’s wisdom and the mind of Christ (cf. Col. 1:9b).

I just wonder if you recognise prayer is also about our adoration for God and not just about asking for things to be changed in our life, well you may ask since God is sovereign and he knows all things then why did we need to pray, well the reason for that is, because God knows all things he can change all things.

The prayer from the psalmist in Psalms 92 doesn't ask God for anything. So the prayer here is because our Sovereign God deserves adoration and gratitude, our prayer is a Christian duty. And we are commanded to pray, and we owe him our obedience. Thats the key to understanding God, we owe God our obedience.

Yes, and our obedience is not onerous, because it is elicited by His love (Matt. 11:28-30).
Thus we are happy to align our will with God's Word (Psa. 119:41-48).

You don't "hit the bullseye", the arrow lands there when you're focused.

That's what I thought while reading page 1 &2 of this thread. It seems to me that what's being talked about is cultivating a relationship with the Lord, and that's how you do it! Focus.

I think most married Christians don't even love the Lord as much they do their wife. Spending time together cultivates love in a relationship. It's necessary to prioritize our love for the Lord by demonstrating our love for Him with worship and presence with Him.

We all know what happens when we keep spending time with the girl attraction grows and affection always creates sacrificial situations which will cost you but is regarded as nothing. because of who it was for. Sacrificial love is necessary because it allows heart to heart communication which deepens relationship.

Maybe some guys are scared that cultivating more love for the Lord than their wife will prolly ruin things with the wife? Not So! Because the Lord's love is an all encompassing love. You either have peace in your spirit or you don't. Pretty simple really.

Well if you realise our will is not aligned with his will untill his will has worked to do as his will asks inside of us, then you can understand him even better.

Cuz even then your own will, does need daily renewing
